OVERVIEW
Gala Theatre…
…was looking to improve facilities for their customers and create more welcoming, inviting and fit-for-purpose public areas in a huge transformation as part of a wider project by Durham Council. The improvement work was planned but was delayed due to the pandemic in 2020, therefore the time schedule for completion was tight!
The Solution
With it being a community funded project, and with other areas of the theatre being redeveloped, refurbishment was the avenue chosen for this project. We managed to retain the existing metal work, reupholstered the seats and backs in an attractive colour combination and provided new seat numbers and row letters.
The Outcome
The stunning transformation came in on time and on budget, and the Gala Theatre was able to open to the public again, after months of closure due to renovations and the pandemic, with a brand-new look!
