OVERVIEW
Stopsley High School, based in Luton, required further development to support its student capacity increase from 990 to 1,350. It resulted in the construction of a new school building, comprising 64 classrooms, a four-court sports hall, creative and music spaces and a special needs facility. In conjunction with contractors, Interserve and acoustic consultants, Arup, BriggsAmasco was selected to supply a total of four roofs to cover the building’s various aspects. The installation not only had to achieve a thermal performance of 0.15 W/m2K, it was required to meet the stringent acoustic performance requirements of BB93.
