New Llandysul School

OVERVIEW

The new £34 million super school in Wales, BriggsAmasco installed a complete roof system comprising steel deck, high performance PIR insulation, single ply membrane and mono-pitch rooflights that will help to create an energy self-sufficient school. Built by Willmott Dixon for Ceredigion Council, the 11,200m2 facility merges five schools – Ysgol Dyffryn Teifi, Aberbanc, Coedybryn, Llandysul, and Pontsian – to form the county’s second ‘all-through’ school. Set to accommodate 1,000 primary and secondary pupils, it incorporates many sustainable features including photovoltaic panels, and will use natural light and ventilation to minimise energy use and running costs.
