“With the new building we were faced with
the question of how best to organise a total
of 80 user groups and their access rights to
the various areas of the complex,” explains
the Director of Internal Services at Mercedes-
Benz. A purely mechanical locking system
did not offer sufficient flexibility, as he recalls:
“Every user would have had to carry several
keys around, which would have given him
access not only to the allocated doors, but
also to many other ones to which he had
no rights.” It was clear to those responsible
that this was not an option.
