HEALTHCARE - Fountains Care Home uses Fire Rated Digital Locks

OVERVIEW

The Barchester Healthcare who specialise in delivering top quality care to the elderly have opened the new Fountains Care Home in Shirley, Solihull where residents can live in comfortable surroundings in a secure and well-equipped dwelling.

The project built by Seddon Construction ensured that fire regulations were adhered too, which included fitting fire doors on to offices, service and storage cupboards. These needed locking and to save staff having to use a key, the contractor fitted fire rated Securefast SBL365.SFR Easy Code Mechanical Digital Push Button Locks which are operated by a lever handle and included the easy to apply new passage mode.

The passage mode is applied by simply entering the code on the outside unit and then rotating a small turn on the inside unit.

The fire rated digital locks have been fully tested and certified for use on 30 and 60 minute timber fire doors and are supplied with the intumescent already fitted to the latch for easy fitting by the contractor.

Having the easy code change function means that the code can easily be changed by simply rotation the pins on the back of the outside unit without having to dismantle the mechanism. If a code is compromised than changing the code is made simple, easy and quick.

The SBL365.SFR is just one of the fire rated Mechanical Digital Locks available from the Securefast range.
