Google Watermarque Building – BIOTRAP® NS35 Grease Management Installation

OVERVIEW

Case Study: Google – Watermarque Building, Dublin

BIOTRAP® NS35 Grease Management System + Grey Water Holding Tank + Lifting Pump

Project Overview

Google required a high-performance grease management solution for a new staff kitchen in the Watermarque Building, Dublin. The kitchen produces approximately 2,000 meals per day, creating significant volumes of FOG-laden wastewater. Compliance with Irish Water discharge limits and elimination of odour risk were key priorities. The installation location—a basement car park plant area—required a compact, robust and easily maintainable system.

Client Requirements

  • Full Irish Water FOG compliance
  • Zero malodours migrating into office or basement levels
  • System sized for high-volume commercial catering
  • Minimal maintenance requirements
  • Equipment suitable for basement location with pumped discharge
  • Rapid installation with no disruption to building operations

Solution Delivered

TaylorMade Greasetrap Solutions supplied and installed a complete BIOTRAP® system, including:

  • BIOTRAP® NS35 Greasetrap (stainless steel)
  • Grey-water holding tank
  • Commercial lifting pump system
  • Full pipework connection, venting and commissioning
  • Secure TROAX steel cage for plant protection

The BIOTRAP® NS35 was selected due to:

  • Its proven performance in high-volume commercial kitchens

  • Quarterly emptying requirement — reducing operational cost
  • Ease of long-term servicing for the facilities team

Coordination & Installation

TaylorMade coordinated directly with the Principal Contractor, building management, and kitchen designers throughout the project.

  • Plant access and pipe routing were pre-planned in BIM
  • All works were completed in a single day
  • System commissioned and handed over with zero disruption to building operations

Performance & Results

The system was installed in 2019 and has now operated for several years with no malodours, no blockages and zero compliance issues. There have been:

  • 0 call-outs
  • 0 operational failures
  • 0 reported odour incidents

Google and their consulting engineers provided extremely positive feedback on the performance and maintainability of the installation. As a result, TaylorMade have since been specified for four additional Google buildings in Dublin.
