This beautiful deck wowed at the 2021 Arbordeck Awards for ‘Best Trex Design Solution’ thanks to its impressive size and design, which brings together two levels for multifunctional spaces.

The inspiration

A.M. Joinery transformed this garden with two tiers: a top level ideal for casual relaxing, and a lower level accessible by stairs which creates a more open space, practical for larger activities such as summer gatherings.

The detail

This deck showcases Trex Enhance® composite decking in two colours, Foggy Wharf and Calm Water, which provide a striking contrast between the main decking area and its borders. Not only does this deck feature a set of stairs to provide access between levels, it is also equipped with a modern glass and stainless steel balustrade which turns the top level into the perfect viewing area to admire the rest of the deck – and the artificial grass installation – below.

Additionally, due to Trex’s low maintenance and durable design, and the long life of the artificial grass, this view will be just as stunning in years to come.

The lower level also features two raised platforms on either side, which could be turned into a comfortable seating area, or used to showcase additional garden features such as plants or outdoor decoration. Furthermore, the deck extends itself to up the side of the garden wall, elongating the design and creating a shelf for various functions.
