OVERVIEW
St. Bartholomew’s Hospital was originally founded in 1123 and the latest design was handled by architects HOK International Ltd, as part of a major redevelopment, which involved the hospital staying open during construction.
Key features of the design are four Pendock Radius column casings that span the floor to ceiling height of almost 18 metres, which are located on one side of the main atrium. In addition, a further 65 casings of between 2.7 and 4.1 metres in height were installed on different floors within corridors, waiting rooms and admin areas. All casings were bespoke manufactured.
