Luxury vinyl sets the Mood at 79 Silver Street

OVERVIEW

Luxury Vinyl Tiles and the Studio Moods modular vinyl flooring concept from IVC Commercial have given a luxury look befitting the boutique status of Prestige Student Living’s Reading student accommodation.

Constructed as a brand-new property with a variety of fully furnished studios and just a short walk from the University of Reading’s London Road Campus, Prestige Student Living’s 79 Silver Street is an exemplar of high-quality student accommodation. Alongside the well-specified apartments, the building features an Instagrammable cinema room, common room and gym, all with stylish, high-quality features that set the building apart.

The inside of 79 Silver Street has been elevated by Jigsaw Interior Architecture, a specialist residential practice developing high-spec interiors and tasked with creating a luxury look, the team has certainly delivered. Meeting Prestige Student Living’s requirement for a hardwearing and easy to maintain floor, Jigsaw opted for Luxury Vinyl Tiles from IVC Commercial, including its award-winning Studio Moods custom modular vinyl concept.

Starting in the reception and amenity spaces, Jigsaw has made the intent of the interior clear with the super-luxury look of Studio Moods Wicker 288. A pattern that adds a bespoke look in a dark wood, Wicker is perfectly in-tune with the Art Deco flavour. With a luxurious blue tiled reception and dramatically lit arch walnut doors, brass detailing and stylish contemporary lighting, the entrance is a grand affair.

Nathalie Serdons, Jigsaw Interior Architecture, says; “The basket weave design of Wicker is definitely returning in interior finishes and the dark oak floor is a timeless colour that gives the development longevity.”

For the gym, IVC Commercial’s Moduleo 55 Hoover Stone, an authentic worn concrete look, adds a stylish yet practical floor. Water-resistant and easy to clean thanks to Protectonite®, it is ideal for less intensive residential gyms, where specialist solutions aren’t required. Suitable for heavy commercial use, Moduleo 55 is IVC Commercial’s highest level LVT specification.

Then, throughout the building’s studio apartments, Moduleo 40 LVT in the light grey of Midland Oak 22110 adds a calming yet modern feel. This floor is popular for residential projects such as PBSA or PRS due to a more cost-effective specification that still retains excellent durability and the same Protectonite® finish for scratch and stain-resistance as well as easy maintenance. Giving a high-quality floor with a home-like appearance thanks to its subtle yet classic oak grain, Moduleo 40 Midland Oak continues the luxurious theme.

“IVC Commercial’s product range is packed full of great designs and colours with options that can work with almost any scheme,” continues Nathalie. “Backed with the competitive pricing and excellent service, it proved a winning combination for 79 Silver Street. As I’m Belgian, it’s also great to be able to specify high-quality solutions from a well-regarded Belgian company. While I won’t be repeating the scheme on other projects for the client due to their boutique approach, I’ll certainly be using IVC Commercial again.”

IVC Commercial’s LVT floors are made in Belgium in one of the world’s most efficient flooring factories with renewable energy from the company’s own wind turbines. Made with up to 50% recycled content from IVC Commercial’s own PVC recycling plant, which is the industry’s largest, the floors are one step towards more sustainable flooring solutions.
