Great Suffolk Street, Southwark

by Bulmer Brick Cutting

This refurbishment and extension of a Victorian warehouse used high quality, crafted materials to complement the existing Victorian building. Two elevations of a two-storey extension to the warehouse featured Victorian style tiles under each window. The designers were challenged to find a method for mechanically fixing these tiled panels which the SafeSecure® system achieved. Every tile is retained with hidden stainless steel sections within the panel. The panels were installed on rails which were ideal for the steel framed structure and allowed for thermal isolation and sufficient room for ventilation and insulation to the cavity void.
