OVERVIEW
Now home to a large selection of national retails brands such as ASDA and Next, the Abbeywood Shopping Park renovation scheme involved the creation of a variety of specialist hardwood furniture in order to utilise the unused public space in front of the shop facades for the public of Bristol to enjoy.
Woodscape worked with Macgregor Smith Landscape Architects to realise a design for their street furniture requirements within the scheme. They created a selection of outstanding specialist Naturally Very Durable Hardwood street furniture to bring the retail park’s previously unutilised space to life.
Designed and manufactured in Woodscape’s UK workshops in Blackburn, a large Type 2 Curved Bench was created for the space. Additionally, a Type 4 Wall Seat with an organic curve stretching to a 5.61m radius connected to a large planter was designed to allow groups of shoppers to sit together opposite and socialise under an outdoor canopy.
Additionally, bespoke rectangular Modular Box Seats, which are open at either side, added a fun and flexible feature to the paved area.
