The ABC project in Melbourne’s Southbank precinct represents a bold union of the national broadcaster’s multiple aims and responsibilities. With its bold style, internal and external openness and highly innovative use of technology, the ABC’s Victorian headquarters embodies socially responsible design. The central design theme of transparency is perfectly suited to the Capral curtain wall, window and door systems throughout. The building, which designer Cox Architecture characterise as fostering a ‘dynamic, integrated and visually transparent environment which promotes interaction across program teams’, also invites ‘greater public interest and participation’.

The term ‘adagio’ is an instruction to slow down and function at a leisurely pace, which makes it an appropriate name for the recently completed apartment complex. Designed by Hanssen Pty Ltd, minimalist design principles are apparent in the building’s sleek lines, as evidenced in the strong use of high-performance window systems, doors and balustrades; low-maintenance aluminium framing; and a simple linear design promoting an outward-looking connection to the environment. The affordability, strength, adaptability and quality of manufacture of the Capral Apartment Collection made it our ‘material of choice’ for the Adagio high-rise.

Nestled in the craggy splendours of New South Wales’ Snowy Mountains region, the stunning home innovatively employs every advantage of Schuco’s environmentally sustainable window and door suites. Henry and Kate Lance of Lance Workshop Architecture expands on Schuco’s key role in the project’s myriad standout features. While there were logistical challenges with installing the windows, they were all overcome. To make sure everything went according to plan when installing those hefty Schuco units, spider cranes were used on this challenging site to safely lift and install some of the larger window units securely into place.

St George Hospital in Kogarah, Sydney, is currently undergoing a $307 million redevelopment. The centrepiece of this redevelopment is a new eight-level Acute Services Building, which will include an intensive care department, eight operating theatres, 128 additional inpatient beds and a rooftop helipad.

This innovative, multi-level residential building in central Adelaide is fitted with water and energy efficient fixtures and fittings by GWA Bathrooms & Kitchens, in partnership with DFC/Housing. Following cleaning and application of our ECOCLEAN coatings the bathroom presented with a reading of 887 RLU on the Lumitester showing a dramatic improvement in health and safety of the bathroom. Further testing also concluded that the bathroom was much less slippery than prior to the application.ECOCLEAN has provided this bathroom with a fresher and cleaner environment which has also improved the health and safety of all visiting students.COMMENTECOCLEAN coatings have been independently laboratory tested on a wide range of common substances responsible for acrid smells and health issues. These substances are the source of unpleasant odours in a range of environments including bathrooms, smoking areas, gyms, and areas near food waste.

They wanted to avoid grime and salt accumulation on the roof system with minimal maintenance from the volunteers and to reduce maintenance costs.The architect designed the outside surfaces so they would be durable in the marine environment and easy to maintain. Their motivations for changing hand drying method were to find a more environmentally sustainable form of hand drying, also wanting to avoid the slip hazard that can result from water on the floor. Project Architect, Katherine Skipper explains "The Dyson Airblade Wash+Dry provided the perfect solution for the problems they were having with water on the floor and constant restocking of paper towels."
