Fire barrier cloth.
TBA Firefly™ Timber Penowrap® is used to maintain the full FRL of a fire compartment wall or fire barrier when it is penetrated by timbers. Strips of Plus 60 are wrapped around the timber and extended 300 mm from the face of the barrier, and temporarily held in place using a hammer tacker and staples.
The Green Collar Roll is then wrapped over the top of it and stapled to itself using an R31 Staple Gun, 12 mm Stainless Steel Staples and double fold jointing method. The 100 mm wide skirt of the Green Collar Roll is then shaped to the face of the compartment wall/fire barrier and glued into position using lntumastic.
A bead of lntumastic is also required at the other end of the green sleeve to seal it to the Plus 60 and timber. This treatment is required to both sides of the compartment wall/fire barrier. If only 3 sides of the timber are accessible then the 3 sided, treatment may be used. However a 25 mm x 25 mm x 0.5 mm galvanised angle is then required to mechanically fix both layers to the timber.
TBA Firefly™ Timber Penowrap® system is comprised of a TBA Firefly™ Plus 60 fire barrier cloth which is cut into 300mm wide strips and wrapped around timbers which penetrate fire walls, then overwrapped and sealed using our bespoke TBA Firefly™ Green Collar Roll and TBA Firefly™ lntumastic.
