Styccobond F58 PLUS - Flooring Adhesive

STIR WELL BEFORE USE

Site conditions vary and will have an impact upon the application characteristics of the adhesive.

PVC/ vinyl floorcoverings

Holding the trowel at a 60° angle, spread the adhesive evenly over the subfloor. Following the floorcovering manufacturer's laying instructions and using the guidelines given below, place the floorcovering into the adhesive and press from the centre outwards to exclude any air; then roll from end-to-end and side-to-side using the 68 kg flooring roller. 1 to 4 hours later, roll again in two directions.

Absorbent surfaces – wet lay, semi-wet or pressure sensitive bond

Apply the adhesive using a STYCCOBOND A2 or STYCCOBOND 1.5 x 5 mm ‘V’ notched trowel.

Floorcoverings can be placed into the adhesive immediately, although it is advisable, when installing tiles, to leave the adhesive for approximately 5 minutes before placing the flooring, reducing the potential for sliding.

Non-absorbent surfaces – pressure sensitive bond

Apply the adhesive using a STYCCOBOND A2 or STYCCOBOND 1.5 x 5 mm ‘V’ notched trowel. Immediately roll with a paint roller which has been pre-coated with adhesive, to obtain a smooth, uniform appearance allowing the adhesive film to dry. This will minimise adhesive grin-through and maximise surface area of contact for adhesion.

Do not use the paint roller to extend the area covered by the adhesive, as this will reduce adhesion.

Do not exceed 180 minutes open time.

Note: When trowelling the adhesive directly onto cured STOPGAP waterproof surface membranes, ensure that the membrane is not damaged or punctured by the trowel.

Rubber floorcoverings onto absorbent surfaces – wet bond

Apply the adhesive using a 2 x 6 mm or B1 ‘V’ notched trowel. Allow the adhesive sufficient time to reach a wet, pasty and tacky consistency but still enabling full transfer to the back of the floorcovering. When installing tiles, leave the adhesive for approximately 5 minutes before placing the flooring – this will help to reduce the potential for sliding.

Following the floorcovering manufacturer's installation instructions, lay the floorcovering into the adhesive, gradually expelling air using a cork board.

Press from the centre outwards using a cork board or carpeted STYCCOBOND GLYDA to ensure the floorcovering is lying flat. As soon as the adhesive begins to secure the floorcovering, roll using a flooring roller, end-to-end and side-to-side to ensure overall contact. 30 minutes later, when the floor has been completely covered, roll as necessary to ensure overall contact is maintained.
