Substrate:

• The surrounding construction must be concrete/masonry construction and capable of bearing the load of the ceiling membrane under fire conditions and must have a fire rating equal to or greater than the ceiling being installed.

Primary channels:

• Minimum 148 x 47 x 1.2 mm Steel C-Stud joists at maximum 610 mm centres.

Edge channels:

• Minimum 150 x 53 x 1.2 mm U-Shaped channels fixed at maximum 500 mm centres to perimeter with minimum M10 x 85 mm suitable fixings by others.

Framing note:

• Minimum 20 mm expansion gap required between joist and end channel.

Brackets:

• Minimum 6 mm thick, 160 x 75 x 130 mm (LxWxH) (1 per end connection).

Bracket fixings:

• Bracket to perimeter (option 1): secure to end channel with minimum M16 × 30 mm countersunk bolt, nut, and washers (back-fixed).
• Bracket to perimeter (option 2): fix through end channel into substrate using Minimum M8 × 85 mm suitable fixings by others.

• Boards to be installed parallel to channels.
• Board layers to be staggered in both directions by minimum 300 mm.

• Boards to be installed perpendicular to channels.

• Screws positioned a minimum 10–12 mm from board edges and 30 mm from board corners.

• Secured from outer layer with minimum 32 mm high thread drywall screws at maximum 200 mm centres.

• Fixed to all metal work with 25 mm self tapping drywall screws at maximum 200 mm centres.

• All boards abutting surrounding structure should be sealed using FSi Promat Pyrocoustic® Fire Resistant Sealant.
• All penetrations should use supporting constructions detailed in Promat literature unless superseded by specific test information. For combined, warrantied performance specify FSi fire-stopping products.
