Sureplan FPO Walkway Membrane

BMI Icopal

Sureplan FPO Walkway Membrane is a weather resistant FPO membrane which is red in colour and incorporates an aggressive, non-slip, interlocking herringbone tread pattern.

Walkways must be installed at all traffic concentration points (i.e. roof hatches, access doors, rooftop ladders, beneath regularly cleaned windows, etc,) regardless of traffic frequency. Walkways must also be installed if regular maintenance (once a month or more) is necessary to service rooftop equipment.

The membranes can be used in conjunction with a galvanized sheet metal spreader plate encased with Icopal SLP300 fleece to prevent compression of the insulation. The spreader plate is secured to the roof deck on top of the insulation and beneath the roofing membrane.

Consult Icopal Limited for recommendations and details of use.

Masterseal 754 Fully Bonded FPO Sheet Membrane System

BASF plc, Construction Chemicals

Pre-applied sheet membrane waterproofing system, consisting of a highly flexible polyolefin membrane and non-woven fleece. The system provides a durable, mechanical bond which is created when the fleece is adhered to fresh concrete. The membrane is cold applied, installed with heat or open flames and before any steel reinforcement is placed/ concrete is poured.

Features and benefits:

  • No need for protection screed.
  • Saves on both time and labour.
  • Fast installation: layout, jointing and detailing.
  • Weather resistant, with temporary UV-stability during installation.
  • No lateral water migration will occur in the event of damage.
  • Resistant to aggressive mediums in soil.
  • Crack bridging ability.
  • Overlapping areas are self-adhesive. No need for any extra tape to overlap.
  • High elasticity at low temperatures.
  • It is resistant to 5 bar water pressure.
  • High mechanical impact resistance.

  • Below grade concrete slabs.
  • Below grade walls with both single (blindside forming) and double-faced formwork (open cut).
  • For prefabricated construction.
  • Residential and industrial buildings such as housing, commercial, leisure facilities, manufacturing plants and warehouses.
  • Engineered structures, such as retaining walls, tunnel galleries, potable water tanks, waste water storage treatment structures and tanks.

Synthetic waterproofing membranes applications should be carried out by approved applicators. The membrane does not have UV resistance but can be exposed during the application of three months - consult manufacturer for details.

Associated Lead Mills

Needle-punched, non-woven geotextile polyester materials in two unit weights – 200 and 220 g/m². Suitable for uneven surfaces, e.g. traditional timber boards. They do not rot or cause adhesion and allow space for air flow between lead sheet and substrate.

  • Reduce drag arising from thermal movement of lead sheet over substrate.
  • Assist in the protection of lead against condensation corrosion, or chemical attack from stone, concrete or timber.
  • Protect lead from damage due to any uneven nature of substrate and provide support against downward pressure.
