A fleet change of 220 washroom basins for Cross Country required a bespoke. Franke designed and manufactured a bespoke solution specifically for the project. The final design was the Rondo stainless steel bowl inset into a Miranit resin-bonded worktop in their choice of colour. Miranit combines sturdiness and resilience with outstanding moulding capabilities and has been fire test specifically for use on trains and fully certified to Category 2. Birmingham Children's Hospital is a leading UK specialist paediatric centre, offering expert care to 90,000 children from across the country every year. Providing quality treatment and care to patients on this scale required the highest standards of infection control.Hospital water systems can become a source of pathogens and bacteria and a probable source of nosocomial infections. The financial and resource demands this can place on a health service already under considerable pressure are significant.In England alone healthcare-associated infections are estimated to cost the NHS £1 billion a year - with infected patients costing three times more to treat than uninfected patients. Yet, it is the more pressing human cost and the emotional strain on those infected and their families that are incalculable.The estates team has a long standing relationship with Rada, having worked together for over fifteen years. The Casa/Studio Passive House by Margherita Potente und Stefano Piraccini in the Italian city of Cesena is regarded as the first of its kind anywhere in the world. An international jury has awarded PIRACCINI+POTENTE SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE for this project with a The Plan Award 2020 in the category "Home Efficiency & Technology".“Passive House” is the name given to buildings that significantly reduce ventilation-induced heat losses and do not require a conventional heating system. Energy-efficient buildings of this type are certified by the Passivhaus Institute Darmstadt – an internationally renowned institute for the research and development of building concepts, building components, and planning tools. Certification is awarded when specific requirements regarding architecture, technology, and ecology are satisfied.The project demonstrates that the energy performance of a Passive House can be achieved not only in new, insulated buildings, but also in conversions and renovation projects. Using the Passive House guidelines, buildings in need of renovation are upgraded and made more energy-efficient and earthquake-proof.The building features a mix of building elements – wood (laminated and XLAM), steel, reinforced concrete masonry, and armed concrete. Attention was paid to the natural properties of each material to ensure optimum interaction between them. This enabled the building’s construction costs to be kept at a market-compatible level without neglecting qualitative aspects.This extraordinary building includes, amongst other things, the Duravit lines ME by Starck, Starck 1, L-Cube, Happy D.2, Luv, and Sensowash® Slim. A highlight is the DuraSquare washbasin with metal console in Black Matt, which stands out with its clear, pared-down design. For Stefano Piraccini it is not just an architects’ studio, but also his home. The architect had the washbasin installed on the bedroom terrace so he can enjoy the view of the Savio river during his morning routine.

The result of the first project of this type is a house with an organic, soft design - the furnishings minimalistic, high-quality and modern. The house consists of triple-shelled walls that are filled with insulating mass. With the help of a giant 3D printer, the concrete mass was applied layer by layer. And within only a few months, a single-family house with 160 m² of living space was created.Nothing was to be missing from the house with its furnishings; the aim was to emphasise the high-quality and special style of the building. The concrete layers were to remain visible inside and out - reduced, clean and yet expressive in its style. This claim runs consistently through all rooms of the house. The bathrooms are equipped with KEUCO IXMO fittings in the shower and on the bathtub. The minimalistic fitting elements blend into the futuristic image, restrained yet strong in design. The shiny chrome finish, reflect a brilliant contrast to the dark tiles in the shower.Aligning with the principle of the house "without corners and edges", round cover plates were chosen for the fittings.  The accessories at the washbasin and WC also fulfil the credo of the design concept: EDITION 400 with its round form language is filigree and the accessories are high-quality eye-catchers. Ranked as the best zoo in Europe, and the third best zoo in the world, Chester Zoo, in Cheshire, UK, has long-been considered a pioneering attraction that many other zoos aspire to. With over 1.8 million visitors a year, the Zoo has specified CONTI+ sensor taps for its visitor washrooms as part of a number of water-saving initiatives .In 2018, the Zoo started a refurbishment project of its washroom facilities, choosing the CONTI+ Ultra sensor taps for all their washbasins. Lincoln bowl has recently undergone a major washroom refurbishment to give their bowling alley a much-needed makeover. The renovation consisted of a whole washroom revamp from flooring to washbasins, taps, urinals and even the less-abled washroom facilities. The four rooms are uniquely designed and each reflects one of the four natural elements – “Air”, “Earth”, “Fire”, and “Water”.How to fit a luxurious bathroom into an open room with limited space posed the greatest challenge. Designer Anke Bodack discovered a photo of a Stonetto shower tray in Duravit’s bathroom magazine, and this came to influence the design and the interior decoration. Flush-mounted shower trays create a sense of space in the room. Three of the four rooms were fitted with an open shower. ME by Starck toilets, Luv washbasins, and L-Cube bathroom furniture can also be found in the Twelve Senses Retreat. Additionally, a free-standing Luv bathtub with its Nordic purism blends perfectly into the minimalistic, soothing atmosphere in the “Earth” room.

Franke Sissons supplied a package of water management controls and software to monitor and control the water consumption for thr 38 stainless steel combination sanitation units and associated shower areas. The A3000 Open Water Management System was a key environmental achievement of the project. Each of the new cells WC's and Washbasins are operated by touch free, vandal resistant infra red controls which are directly linked and managed from a central monitoring facility. This enables constant full control of all the washroom facilities including the supply of water.

Franke Water Systems were thrilled to be chosen to provide the complete range of sanitaryware to the Kia Oval at Kennington for their redevelopment project. Products such as their composite Miranit washtroughs, stainless steel urinals, washbasins and WC’s plus complementing grab rails were all part of the installation. Franke Water Systems was chosen as the key manufacturer for the revamp of Lincoln bowl’s washrooms. Inspired Washrooms, a Nottingham based company were chosen to carry out the project and specified  Franke Water Systems product range to complete the refurbishment. The renovation consisted of a whole washroom revamp from flooring to washbasins, taps, urinals and even the less-abled washroom facilities. Knowle C of E Primary School in Solihull has undergone phase two of their major washroom refurbishment. Phase two of the refurbishment included additional washbasins, taps and final installations such as lighting and flooring. The washrooms in a West London School were in need of refurbishment. They took the opportunity to completely rethink the use of space and had a more modern, fresh look in mind for the Key Stage 1 & 2 school washrooms, and the Franke Washino range fitted perfectly with the scheme. Franke’s Washino wash and play trough (SANW215P) were used instead of traditional washbasins. The Washino range is ergonomically designed to allow children to get closer to the taps, and the playful wave and pleasant warm surface of the Miranit troughs are a temptation for children to wash their hands.

High-end residential refurbishment that required MicroCement installation to all internal walls and floors in two family bathrooms. This large scale, refurbishment project showcased innovative ways MicroCement can be applied to interior bathroom walls and floors without a need for joins or breaks. Its smooth finish was ideal for a modern, minimalist design that our client wanted. MicroCement can be easily installed over existing materials which in turn reduces the time needed for application and maintenance.We also supplied and installed two large precast and hand-polished concrete washbasins that were done in Mist Silk finish. They were treated with our in-house sealant and made to be stain-resistant.

La Villa has more than 18 double and 12 single rooms. The interior design of each is unique and was furnished with every amenity. Pure luxury in the newly constructed building between the terminals  The 5-star Hilton Munich Airport hotel is situated like an oasis of tranquillity between terminal 1 and 2 at Munich Airport.The hotel enjoys a high occupancy rate and had an annex constructed to increase the number of exclusive rooms. Completed in 2016, only the finest of materials and finishes were used in the new building, to establish a very special atmosphere. With the abstract silhouette of the Alps and the wooden furniture, for example, the charm of the state capital of Bavaria is reflected in the premium interior furnishings. Select designer creations can be found in the sleeping areas, and naturally also the bathrooms. The interior architects JOI-Design, with proprietors Peter Joehnk and Corinna Kretschmar-Joehnk, were responsible for the concept design for the hotel rooms. Entering the bathrooms, the brilliant chrome finishes of the KEUCO accessories and the iLook_move cosmetic mirror immediately catch the eye. For the recent redesign of the comfort ward of in Geilenkirchen a tasteful furnishing design was chosen, combining a modern ambience with a familiar atmosphere.
