Angel Central is a popular shopping destination in Islington, London. Famous for its beautiful Angel Wing sculpture that is situated at the entrance. Artform were invited to provide a selection of street furniture elements that would complement each other and the new improvements. The Strata Beam Bench and Seat has subtly faceted concrete legs that create an interesting play between light and shadow, the timber slats match the flooring chosen for the bridge.The Ecomix Litter Bin continues the theme of angles and light with a grey body and white top. The Box Litter Bin was also chosen for an uncovered area, the timber front panel coordinated with the seating. The street furniture package was picked to deliver sophisticated design and a continuity with the new landscaping and architecture. 

Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal (DIRFT) is a rail-road intermodal freight terminal with an associated warehousing estate in Northamptonshire. Owned by Prologis, the business park was originally built in the 90’s, but a recent expansion has added around 4 million square feet of storage and office space. Some buildings are already occupied by leading brands such as Royal Mail, BooHoo, Dunelm, Tesco and Sainsburys.DIRFT’s Unit DC628 (DC10) is a net zero carbon building with 627,707 square foot warehouse space rated BREEAM Excellent. Among its features are solar PV systems, a roof terrace, and enhanced external amenities.Our team was commissioned to provide seating and planting solutions for the outdoor amenity space and roof terrace by BCA Design, Landscape Architects for the project.Our RailRoad modular seating solution with Delta supports, and FSC iroko timber slats, that are left untreated to allow natural weathering, was installed in the outdoor amenity area adjacent to the car park - along with Parallel picnic tables and benches and Zenith 500 litter bins - creating an outdoor lunch break environment in which employees can enjoy during warm weather.Decking supplied by Outdoor Deck was installed on the roof terrace of the building, complete with our AKRI 300 steel planters with 500mm high panels, manufactured from triple process recycled steel, to form a variety of linear shapes filled with plants and greenery to create a peaceful oasis with a view of the countryside.Seating and benches made from FSC Iroko timber which included armrests on some, were integrated onto the planters to provide warehouse staff with quiet spaces to relax. The rooftop planters were complemented by the addition of our Hollo range of freestanding low seating / tables

Meadows Business Park is undergoing a major repositioning, providing modern working for a post covid-19 world. With 3 refurbished buildings positioned in landscaped grounds, providing workspaces, offices, central café, gym, cycle storage and showers. Located next to Blackwater Railway station, tenants of Meadows Business Park can enjoy pop up shops, street food markets, walks around the 100 acre shepherds meadow and even Peloton bikes, as well as a range of classes in the gym.As part of the refurbishment of these buildings, we worked alongside OD Interiors to manufacture and install the lockers and bench seating for the cycle storage and shower areas. As part of the project, we provided 22 wet specification Laminate Z Lockers for the male changing rooms, 22 wet specification Laminate Z Lockers for the female changing rooms and bench seating for both changing areas and the cycle storeroom.The stunning Laminate Z Lockers were manufactured with an aluminium body, stainless steel door frame and Abet Laminate doors. The colours chosen were Mountain Oak and Ice White from Abet’s range of laminate colours. We work with a variety of suppliers of laminate, allowing us to offer a large selection of colours and finishes, from carbon-neutral options, wood effect styles, through to bright pops of colour.In each changing room, 13 of the 22 Z Lockers were fitted with seat stands, with the remaining 9 lockers fitted to stands. The frames for the stands and seat stands are powder coated in RAL colour white, with the seat slats in Mountain Oak laminate to match the locker doors. To keep the project slick and uniform, the end panels, infills and the cladding to hide the stands are in the Ice White laminate, also matching the doors.The locks chosen for the project were the Digilock Versa Keypad locks. These are a great choice for both assigned, or shared use, and so were perfect for the shared changing rooms at Meadow Business Centre. The historic Grade II listed former dock offices will be home of the Project Hub for the Canada Water Masterplan to oversee the regeneration of Canada Water into a new town centre for the local area. The Hub will contain a flexible exhibition and event space, as well as office space for project staff.Artform Urban have supplied a range of seating to the Project Hub to create a welcoming courtyard space for staff and visitors to enjoy during the ongoing project works and beyond.The Dea-Diva-Lua-Ela-Stella seating range is manufactured entirely from thick laser-cut sheet steel that has been powder coated with a high-quality Faux Corten effect paint. The distinctive and unique pattern is derived from the surrounding landscape that sits at home in the leafy space. The seats are part of a range of products designed by French architect Marc Aurel that include litter bins and tree grilles all featuring the recognisable and attractive perforated leaf designs.The Canada Water Masterplan is expected to deliver up to 3,000 new homes, two million sq ft of workspace and one million sq ft of retail, leisure, entertainment and community space including proposed health and social infrastructure, and educational uses for all ages.The vision for Canada Water is to be a place where the community will shape and share in the development's success.

Artform Urban Furniture was appointed by Sager House (Almeida) to provide seating and cycle parking to a mixed-use community space in Islington, North London.Hidden behind an Edwardian façade of a former postal sorting office, Islington Square has been over a decade and a half in the making after the plot was initially bought in 2003 by Developers Cain International. After years of careful planning and construction, the site is now complete and comprises of independent retail units, restaurants, galleries, event spaces, a cinema, and 263 new flats.The intention of the project was to bring variety back to the high street and as well as the boutique shops, unique retailers and events spaces this consideration was echoed in the choice of street furniture. A selection of our stone seating and planter elements have been supplied to the site that feature distinctive designs to stand out. The Up Bench is a sculptural and modular bench, manufactured from a binding compound of granite that has been bush hammered and treated against deterioration. Inslington Square features combined runs of Up benches that create snaking blocks of social seating.The Arrowhead range of benches and planters are dotted around the space bringing natural colour as well as further social seating opportunities. These curvaceous monolith-shaped units offer a low-maintenance and resilient alternative to traditional street furniture. Their weight and mass also allow their placement to be considered in terms of building pedestrian protection from vehicles.Finally, considerations for cycling visitors and residents have been met with a selection of our premium cycle stands. The Ride Cycle Stand features concealed connections and discreet leveling glides to make the stand appear balanced in air. The cast aluminium flat ribbon frame marks it as a member of the Metro40 family of street furniture. 25 Units were supplied which provide great bicycle support with the capability for attachment at two points and holds two bicycles creating parking space for up to 50 bikes. Islington Square is an inclusive, pedestrian-friendly hub that sits at the heart of the surrounding community and brings something different to both residents and visitors.

Victoria Gate is one half of Victoria Leeds; a beautiful shopping district, recognised as one the premium shopping destinations in the North of England.The award-winning Victoria Gate opened in October 2016 and is a modern interpretation of Victoria Quarter, paying homage to the surrounding architecture. Victoria Gate brings together brands such as Anthropologie, The White Company and Aspinal of London, in addition to being home to the largest John Lewis store outside London.Artform were asked to supply a mixture of street furniture items to the prestigious city centre development, with the initial specification being produced by ACME Architects, London but the majority of the dialogue and final decision was directly with the client's project management team.Samples of all materials and finishes were supplied, to ensure that the client and team were comfortable with the final proposal and furniture elements.The products specified were the Parc Vue seats, with and without armrests, the Loop cycle stands and the Spencer litter bins, plus in this instance, Artform also provided a full supply and installation service on this project.The traditional seating and cycle stand designs were pivotal in the selection process, ensuring that they integrated with the timeless character of Victoria Gate. The distinctive diamond shaped latticework covering the roof of the complex is echoed in the Parc Vue seat and the Loop cycle stand, making them the perfect addition to complement this impressive architectural structure.The result has encouraged bicycle use and reduced congestion, offering a space for visitors to rest and contemplate, without compromising on the aesthetics of the surrounding structure.

Installed throughout the common room and seating areas on the ground floor, Times Square carpet tiles in colourways Grey and Natural complement the modern, contemporary design ofthe building and its interior. Furthermore, Skyline carpet tiles in colourways Trinity (beige) and Empire (grey) were installed throughout the corridors to the bedrooms.

Our seating provides a place for the public to dwell and reflect. The Architects were Capita the constructors were Ryebridge Construction.The project strives to provide pedestrian access across Bartlett Square to the Luton DART Parkway station from Kimpton Road, along with a small area of public realm. Townscape’s involvement has assisted in creating a new and high-quality public realm that is practical and links the rail station with local businesses and residents.

The living wall at the newly renovated Bell Court Shopping Centre in Stratford-upon-Avon is part of a large refurbishment project to improve the existing town centre location including the associated NCP car park. The living wall overlooks a courtyard area with cafe seating creating a pleasant public realm space.

“Rip up the rule book and create a space that inspires” – this was the brief for the new 91,000 sq ft Moneypenny Headquarters in Wrexham. Following a €12million restoration, iconic Dublin landmark Bewley’s Grafton Street, has reopened to offer seating for 500. The new interior has been described as ‘the same but different.’ Rockfon® Mono® Acoustic ceilings are installed throughout to create a comfortable acoustic environment and meet the aesthetic demands of this historic space.

Meadowbank Sports Centre has been the home of elite sport in Edinburgh since the 1930s. The historic Meadowbank stadium was built for the 1970 Commonwealth Games, which it also hosted for a second time in 1986. For nearly 50 years the centre was open to both elite athletes and the local community before it closed in 2017. Designed to high standards of sustainability by Holmes Miller Architects, the new centre is part of a wider regeneration of the surrounding area in accordance with the City of Edinburgh Council’s long-term plan to cut carbon emissions and at the same time improve the health and wellbeing of the local community. Providing access to state-of-the-art sport and physical activity on their doorstep, the new centre is first and foremost a community sports facility. There is an outdoor athletics track with a 500-seat capacity stand and inside facilities include two multi-sports halls with fixed and moveable spectator seating, two squash courts, a gym floor and fitness studios all fitted with Junckers’ solid hardwood flooring. The two multi-sport halls are fitted with Junckers 22mm Maple Champion flooring providing a durable and long-lasting floor that will easily withstand high levels of usage. Installed over Junckers UnoBat 45 subfloor system, the floor offers a safe and high-performing surface with excellent shock absorption and ball bounce, fully conforming to EN 14904 class A4. Installed by Junckers’ Approved Contractor Courtcraft, the floor has a 25-year warranty which includes a regular maintenance programme to keep the floor in optimal condition. The larger sports hall houses a large-capacity retractable seating unit which can be rolled out onto the sports floor when needed and stored away when not in use. With extensive technical expertise in this area, Junckers will advise on how to strengthen the sprung batten system to allow for heavy loads whilst leaving the sprung quality of the floor unaffected. A sealed solid hardwood flooring surface is very resistant to the type of wear and tear which may occur with retractable seating systems. Seating wheels will not mark or indent the Junckers floor whereas vinyl and other synthetic floors are often impossible to use because the wheels cause permanent tracking marks and scuffs. In addition, Courtcraft installed Junckers’ SylvaSquash flooring in two squash courts, a high-performance solid beech floor left unfinished to ensure high grip-levels; and Maple Champion in the two fitness studios. Junckers’ 22mm oak flooring was also supplied for standing-only plinths the gym area, fitted by GL Floors. A sporting and social hub for Edinburgh, Meadowbank Sports Centre offer participation and accessibility at the heart of the centre, bringing physical, mental, and social benefits to the local community and beyond for generations to come. The project was a collaboration between The City of Edinburgh Council, Edinburgh Leisure and sportscotland.

Saturday 2nd July 2016 marked the Centenary celebrations of the famous Cunard building in Liverpool – one of the city’s world–famous Three Graces. To bring the Cunard company’s legacy to life, the Hardscape team was commissioned by BCA Landscape in collaboration with design agency Smiling Wolf to craft an epic 50-metre granite stone seat.

 The concept proposed by Urban Planters and Westfield incorporated large timber planters, seating and walkways to bring green country life to a large urban city area. We have now successfully installed several large planting structures around the Westfield Shopping Centre and continue to work closely with Urban Planters in order to achieve the ongoing brief.

Challenge The Hexagon is a well established multi purpose venue, in the heart of Reading that was built in 1977. As well as drama productions, it hosts a range of events such as Dance, Comedy, Classical Music, Rock and Pop concerts. The venue can hold up to 1600 people, with much of the capacity arranged in levels of banked arena-style seating with stepped access.

A bespoke Gatic CastSlot system was installed as part of the redevelopment of the riverside stand for Craven Cottage, home to Fulham FC. The project, which began in July 2021, incorporates Gatic CastSlot Treadsafe, which was chosen to drain away any excess surface water from the seating/standing areas along the deck of the stand. It was installed by main contractors Buckingham Group.The unobtrusive profile of CastSlot sits neatly within concrete, asphalt, and block surface finishes and features an electro painted ductile iron throat section. This is securely fixed to the galvanised steel channel body to provide an exceptionally robust yet discreet drainage system.The treadsafe option was chosen for this project. Treadsafe is available for areas where there is regular foot traffic and is available with a 10mm or 30mm opening—ideal for stadium standing and seating areas.Bespoke access boxes were also created for the new stand, and channel throat depths were also extended for level changes, allowing a constant invert within the channel.

Republic is a new campus at East India Docks: the design is centred around well-being at work with a focus on daylight and ventilation, direct connections with nature through the planting in the biodiverse central gardensThe first phase commenced in October 2016 and the public realm was completed towards the end of 2018The campus will ultimately provide 650,000 sq ft of high-quality affordable workplace, a wide range of amenities, generous public realm and extensive green spaces.BLOC sun bench can be used on its own or joined in rows and back to back. It is also available with a short seat.VROOM bench is a modular furniture system that can be extended in endless combinations. The bench comes in two widths, with or without a backrest and armrests. October 2021 Cheshire East Council officially marked the reopening of Castle Street in Macclesfield following the completion of a scheme to transform the area and support the town’s regeneration. After delays, the work began in April 2021 and has seen footways widened and roads resurfaced with a natural cobblestone-style paving, newly planted trees, and improved street lighting.Artform Urban Furniture was appointed by Ringway Jacobs Ltd to provide seating and cycle parking to the new external space. The seating option selected was the robust and sizable Canape Bench.The units consist of a powder-coated steel frame topped with exotic hardwood timber slats and backrest, providing a spacious bench for a number of users. In order to maintain the appearance of the benches, custom skate deterrents have been integrated into the design. The benches are positioned in rows of three, complementing the new resurfaced space and surrounding architecture. To further improve the space a number of Lucchetto Cycle Stands featuring a sealed Corten and stainless steel finish installed at the end of the new road providing stylish cycle parking. Lucchetto stands have the unique appearance of a padlock creating an original cycle parking offering. The project is part of a larger strategic regeneration of Macclesfield town centre to encourage greater footfall and business to the area. Castle Street was previously an underused space with vehicles having priority. The road has been opened up to the public to move freely and businesses can also apply for an alfresco dining license to expand their seating to the outside.Much of the Bailey Street Furniture Group workforce have been raised in and around Macclesfield, making this project a privilege to be a part of.

LDA Design specified WoodBlocX Landscaping to provide the raised planters and seating for the courtyard areas of its Westpoint Homes project; One Hyndland Avenue, a development comprising of 63 luxury apartments with beautifully landscaped outdoor spaces in Glasgow’s West End.The design LDA created for the development featured a series of open paved spaces, ample seating and pergolas to add height, with large angular raised planters with integrated seating bordering the perimeters of the site to plant trees, shrubs and plants.Following a consultation with LDA on potential solutions, the WoodBlocX design team took the initial plans and recreated the original footprint using CAD designs of the modular timber blocks. Thanks to the versatility of the system WoodBlocX were able to match the design almost identically, incorporating the shapes and angles of the original outline.WoodBlocX supplied all materials directly to the Westpoint Homes’ site and the structures were assembled by their own teams. The space for materials on site was tight and the size of the planters meant that a large quantity of materials were delivered. WoodBlocX components arrive on site neatly palletised and the individual lightweight pieces are easy to access and manoeuvre when needed.All WoodBlocX structures are built in the same way using a series of light weight blocks which have been pre-drilled and then treated to provide superior strength - there is no waste or cutting needed.With all projects challenges can arise during the build, in this case some onsite changes were required due to manholes and water access getting in the way of original design. Our team swiftly redesigned instructions and supplied suitable components to match the change.

We have supplied various Helmsman System 2000 Lockers to this fantastic project at the University of Strathclyde.. We supplied approximately 300 No System 2000 2 compartment lockers as well as 35 No System 2000 3 compartment lockers. We have installed also our System 3206 bench seating which equates to approximately 100 meters.

Work started on improvements to the town’s thoroughfare in May 2015 with Contractors Dawnus Construction assigned for the main phase of the project in conjunction with Denbighshire County Council. It involved the complete reconstruction of the carriageway and footways in the southern section of the high street between Wellington Road and Kinmel Street. Trees were planted and new seats and new litter bins were installed throughout.

1500m2 of RoofDek D100 and D200 structural metal roof decking profiles were used to support the roof system of Hull’s Bonus Arena, a state-of-the art, music and events complex with up to 3,500 concert auditorium capacity that has the flexibility to adapt to a 2,500 all-seated event and 2,000m2 exhibition space plus 800 capacity conference auditorium.

Revitalising High Streets Across Wembley, Harlesden and Kilburn with our Planter and Parklets. As we all know our High streets have been hit hard by our changing online shopping habits along with the uncertainty and unpredictability following the after-effects of the COVID lockdown.As many of Brent’s residents have shifted towards working from home and spending more time in their own local neighbourhoods, the council wanted to refresh the high streets for the new daytime generation to enjoy.  The new initiatives have included everything from aesthetic and environmental improvements to new youth facilities and public artwork.Wembley High RoadFor Wembley High Road the council wanted to carry out improvement works to enhance the appearance and character of the high road including, new footway paving, lighting, seating areas and greenery with new trees and plants.  This is where our planters and parklets came into the equation, the planters with integrated seating allow the residents to sit and rest during their shopping and local residents in the surrounding flat to come out and enjoy the sunshine.Harlesden Town CentreHarlesden being a vibrant and multicultural centre within Brent is a priority area for the council.  There are a lot of major developments taking place and therefore the challenge is to retain the character and sense of place.In early 2020, Brent Council acquired the former Picture Palace cinema building on Manor Park Road, Harlesden, and set aside funding for the renovation and refurbishment of the building.Meristem was asked to install a series of planters surrounding the Picture Palace cinema to brighten up the frontage, and provide greenery, trees, plants and seating opportunities. Kilburn High RoadKilburn High Road is an important local town centre and is designated as one of 35 ‘major centres’ according to the Mayor’s London Plan.The high road has lots of shops – both large retailers and small independents – a market, library, restaurants, pubs, and the Tricycle Theatre and Cinema. These all help to create Kilburn’s character and offer a wide range of goods and services to residents as well as to evening visitors to the restaurants and other attractions.The objectives of the Kilburn High Road improvement scheme are to reduce the dominance of traffic on the high road, help create a place that people want to visit and spend time in, and support businesses.The feedback led to our green interventions to make the high street greener through the inclusion of trees, planters, shrubs, and seating.

As part of the major refurbishment project, Artform Urban was approached by City Design to transform an underutilised internal courtyard into a vibrant communal space that encourages social interaction and relaxation.To achieve this, the design needed to incorporate a variety of outdoor furniture elements that complemented the modern aesthetics of the refurbished building while withstanding the rigours of an outdoor environment. The design and layout were also guided by the unique and playful ground markings that help to break up the ample space visually.Artform Urban worked closely with the client to provide a comprehensive range of outdoor furniture that met the project's specific needs. The supplied products included:Stone Benches: These uniquely designed pebble-shaped benches are manufactured from High-Performance Concrete and add an artistic touch to the courtyard. The stones can be supplied in 3 sizes and also feature a specialist Comfort option that has a heated element for additional user comfort on colder days. Rivola Seat: A really well-priced unit, the robust granite Rivola Seats feature a wavy design that echoes the ground markings. These can be positioned in 3 different ways for added flexibility. As well as being highly durable and low maintenance the Stone and Rivola are ideal in student environments for encouraging informal group gatherings or solitary lounging and relaxation thanks to their intriguing organic shapes. Loop Arc and Hop Op 500: this range of contemporary, rotationally moulded plastic seating and stools features an ergonomic design and is available in a range of vibrant colours. The client opted for a white bench to complement the newly resurfaced area and ground markings - creating a visually appealing and comfortable seating solution for students, perfect for casual meetings or studying outdoors. It is also possible to install these free standing and self-weight internally with water or sand. Holgate Picnic Sets: To foster a sense of togetherness and encourage outdoor dining, Artform Urban provided picnic sets. These sturdy and durable sets offered a practical dining solution for students to enjoy meals together in the courtyard.Rubino Litter Bin: To maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the courtyard, Artform Urban supplied the Rubino Litter Bin. This heavy-duty yet stylish granite waste disposal unit seamlessly blends with the modern design of the space. By providing various furniture options that combine aesthetics, durability, and comfort, the newly refurbished courtyard will play a crucial role in enhancing the living experience for the students at iQ Wilmslow Park in Manchester.

A £675,000 investment has seen a Belfast car park transformed into an exciting new ‘eco space’ for the public. Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland unveiled the space which sits directly on top of the Donegall Quay underground car park. The space is designed to form a new social area for locals to relax beside the River Lagan. It is a mix of grassy areas and seated spaces.

Dubai Opera is one of the most significant, vibrant and successful performing arts and entertainment centres in the Middle East.The 2,000 seat, multi-format theatre has been captivating its visitors since 2016.Lorient’s high-performance acoustic seals; LAS8001 si drop seals & LAS1212 Batwing® acoustic & smoke seals were specified for this prestigious project.

Designed by architect Renzo Piano, the new Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre (SNFCC) in Athens has created homes for the National Library of Greece and Greek National Opera, which include a 1,400-seat auditorium. With significant steel structures involved, Nullifire SC902 Fast Track, On-Site Intumescent Steel Coating was used extensively to provide passive fire protection.

St Wilfrid’s Catholic High School had outgrown its dining room, which eventually could only seat half their pupils at a time. They looked at the options to increase dining space and realised that they couldn’t afford an extension building. That is when they contacted A&S Landscape and realised that an outdoor canopy, with side panels, power, heating and lighting could be a fantastic, cost-effective solution.

Located in the historic district of Islington in North London, Ferntower Road is close to the popular green space, Newington Green. A dull and empty public space lies at the end of the road, nestled between local shops and cafes that passersby wander through.Islington Council wanted to improve the quality of air on streets and neighbourhoods, by introducing a green corridor which would make the space more inviting and encourage the locals to sit and relax.Working with local Landscape Architects, the plan was to help improve the public space by taking an inclusive approach. By using our AKRI 600 retaining planters, large scale planting beds were designed as part of a scheme, driving biodiversity and reducing air pollution in the area.A total of four AKRI planter shapes were crafted and manufactured in corten (a naturally corrosion resistant material). The AKRI system includes a timber seating module with cladding (which complements the AKRI unit) that was added to further bring people closer to nature. In the community, the planters and seating are well received as a new addition to the once unused public space.
