The use of dark color allows the building to stand for itself in its surrounding . Our Premium Plus roller blinds are added to the students' bedrooms to improve comfort and provide privacy . They are combined with a Touch BO for its woven textile aesthetic in contrast with the industrial design of the building . 

The Dordrechts museum showcases gallery the prints of mainly Dutch painters and craftsmanship from the 17th century to today. A soft and filtered light was necessary which was achieved by combining specific lighting with Silent Gliss roller blinds systems.

Creating a Luxury Blind SystemThis project was a series of high-end luxury apartments developed by the Berkeley Group. There were multiple techniques used throughout the project that were vital to keep in-fitting with the luxury nature of the development.One of which was the coupled use of Umbra's Sirios motorised roller blinds with concealment profiles. The Sirios line is designed with compact functionality in mind, making the blinds perfect for projects that require concealment to create a sleek finish.The blinds also make use of a feature known as 'slave and drive', a system whereby a pair of blinds next to each other use a singular motor and a shaft to create a synchronized and energy efficient blinds system.Umbra's wide range of fabrics also came into play, the high end material were chosen to provide both privacy and an aesthetically pleasing design.

QIC Trims, a leading manufacturer of trims for the interior fit-out sector, has designed window fitting solutions for one of the tallest residential projects in London - Foster + Partners' 50-storey Principal Tower in Shoreditch. The company helped the architectural team design and extrude in excess of 5,000 linear metres of bespoke Blind Box housing for roller blinds and curtains in the development's one and two-bedroom apartments. The product had to be turned around efficiently and quickly so as not to impact a tight site programme. Further projects are now in the pipeline with the development team.

Bowcliffe Hall is a stately home now hosting large events. the Blackburn Wing is a 2000sq ft tree house conference and event venue shaped like an airplane wing and nestled in ancient woodland at the heart of the estate. The challenge for Silent Gliss was to specify and discreetly fit products to work perfectly on sloping ceilings with an open plan design objective. the solution was found using the Silent Gliss motorised roller blinds System 4960 and 4880.

Designed by MVRDV and GRAS Reynés Arquitectos, Project Gomila is a collection of buildings, each with its own individual character derived from their colors, materials, and rooflines, that is transforming the area around Plaza Gomila, located in Mallorca (Spain). The architects have selected our products for their maximum chromatic customization and functionality. More than 60 avant-garde homes with their own identity and custom design. A great example of where Silent Gliss products can be specified across many apartments in a single development. This large luxury apartment complex wanted to optimise the look of the building from the outside as well as the inside. All apartments installed Silent Gliss Wave on the main side of the building which gave an overall co-ordinated and stylish effect to onlookers. Combined with other motorised roller blinds, this project is a great example of how Silent Gliss can use it’s wide product range to meet the needs of any kind of shading requirement.

Sevenoaks School is a leading independent school located in Kent, England. The new Science and Technology Centre is one of the most sophisticated, high-specification education buildings in the UK. The interior is designed to encourage curiosity and collaboration among young scientists.Silent Gliss blinds were layered in the laboratories using roller blinds SG 4910 with Aluscreen Futura fabric to provide glare protection in daylight, and dim-out system SG 4740 for room darkening. To blend harmoniously with the surroundings, the profiles are colour matched to the window frames. The social and study areas are fitted with hand-operated curtain tracks SG 6840 with Wave for a softer room ambience. The end result is an aesthetically stunning, award-winning education facility which has achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating.

The Cabin is a stunning residential project in West Wales.Featuring motorised roller blinds, motorised curtain tracks and specialist tensioned rooflight blinds, this project has a little bit of everything when it comes to shading.Being as this was one of the most aesthetically pleasing projects we have ever worked on, it was vital that the shading provided functionality and style simultaneously. Umbra's' wide range of hardware options and powder coating services meant that the blinds and curtains could fit both the interior design style and the stunning scenery flawlessly.Being a modern style, it was absolutely vital that the shading solutions were smart home compatible. Every blind that Umbra fitted was controllable via a smartphone app. This meant that the home owner had complete control over the blinds directly from their phone. With the ability to set scenes, create automatic schedules, and make use of various sensors, (including light, weather and presence detectors) to gain fully autonomous control over their shading.Another unique challenge that the project posed was that of temperature control. The project had the dual challenge of large glazed windows and a costal location, (meaning the weather has the capability to go from scorching heat to vicious gales at the drop of a hat). Specialist fabrics were selected from Umbra's very own fabric range to provide optimal heat gain and loss control.All of these factors came together in perfect harmony to create one of the most visually pleasing and functionally robust projects Umbra have completed to date.

The Project That Harnessed Evolve ZeroThis residential project used Evolve Zero blinds to replace existing blind systems for a set of bifold doors.Evolve Zero blinds are one of the most high quality solutions on the market when it comes to covering large windows or doors.They are a solution unique to Umbra, being equipped with an anti-bending technology which allows the Evolve Zero to cover spaces monumentally larger than previously possible.Problems regular blinds face when covering large areas:The blind fabric sagging inwards.The roller mechanism becoming too large.The top mechanism bends out of shape with the weight of the blind.Benefits of the new anti-bending technology:Blinds can cover up to 5 meters horizontally.Mechanisms are more compact.There is less light leak than using two blinds to cover the same area.This project shows that Evolve Zero blinds are the perfect solution when covering large areas of glazing.

The global transport and logistics company DSV have completed a brand new 522,000 sq ft industrial facility and offices. The state-of-the-art logistics hub is located at the 238-acre Mercia Park in Leicestershire.InterLace designed, manufactured and installed a full turn-key external shading system to reduce solar gain, with high specification electric venetian blinds and specialist Schueco curtain walling roller shade blinds operated by a central weather-responsive control system.

The owner of this house wanted to build a purpose-built home to meet the needs of his growing up family.  He wanted to live in the village he grew up in but at the same time it was important that the design embraced new concepts and ideas. The end result is a stunning contemporary luxury home that incorporates large glazing areas throughout. There has been a careful use of traditional stone, wood and also unique metal cladding detail with the external design. Internally the feeling throughout is minimalistic clean lines, with the furniture being a perfect complement to the end result. With the exception of the switchable privacy glass for the window adjacent to the front door, the inclusion of completely concealed fully automated blinds to all other windows are the ’Grand Finale’ to this beautiful home.  When not required the blinds are completely concealed but at the press of a button or using their mobile devices, blinds appear as required – providing shading, sun protection, privacy or blackout blinds as required.A feature of interest is the large gable window in the master bedroom.  Here Honeycell Duette® blinds have also been concealed within the sloping ceiling and again appear from their hiding places when required showing that irregular shaped areas can benefit from the Blindspace headboxes which can be made to conceal almost any blind available on the market.

When Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace planned a London venue for its roller-skating experience, it needed a durable, sprung hardwood floor that could withstand the heavy traffic of a busy roller-skating rink. The choice fell on Junckers SylvaSport beech flooring, a trusted floor system suitable for a multitude of activities. Working closely with the designers 93ft, the experienced team at Junckers’ approved flooring contractor Hutchison Flooring devised the optimal layout and choice of flooring system for the best roller-skating performance possible. A meticulous installation plan which encompassed working alongside all trades on site was formulated and consequently followed to the letter in order to bring the project in on time and budget. The building for the new venue is a Grade II listed former power station, which meant there were restrictions on fixing to the original fabric of the building. The brief was that no alterations to the substrate were allowed, nor could the floor be fixed down, the entire flooring system had to be floating. The existing surface to build the floor from was a concrete substrate that was not completely level. To overcome the problem, Hutchison Flooring used a low-level New Era cradle and batten system from Junckers, which provided a laser-perfect level floor surface. Hutchison Flooring lay a polythene membrane with a 150mm overlap and taped joints to ensure sufficient vapour barrier followed by the cradle which involved carefully packing to the exact tolerances for every sprung cradle to ensure a perfectly level and flat floor for the skating ring. 22mm battens where laid in the cradles, brick bond staggered to create a perfect and reliable bond to the floor when nailed onto the battens. Junckers SylvaSport beech flooring was laid using a compression nailer on every batten on every row and 0.4mm spacers were included on every row to allow the correct expansion within the floor. Inspiration for the interior came from the original Flipper’s venue run by Ian Ross in the late Seventies and early Eighties. The client brief was for an immersive roller-skating experience with world-class sound and lighting. Central to the state-of- the-art indoor rink was a jet-black floor, an element the client insisted on. The black surface amplifies the atmosphere by maximising the reflection of the overhead lights, LED screens and mirrored panels on the sides. Junckers black-stained beech SylvaSport flooring has the desired jet-black, matt finish to provide the perfect backdrop to Flipper’s logo which is placed in the centre of the rink. Specialist court marking company MJ Courtmarkers custom made CNC laser cut vinyl templates of the logo which was painted with Junckers’ HP Sportsline line marking paint before being overcoated with HP Sports lacquer. 

Carefully designed, to provide extra space in this tiny mews house, the IQ Glass extension is an area to relax and enjoy the garden. These glazed extensions tend towards extreme temperature changes through the year and the addition of French Pinoleum Blinds means the room can be enjoyed year-round.

This luxury home was designed to have fully concealed blinds in every window. The owners were enthusiastic to design a home that was the best to the last detail. Blinds and curtains are controlled using Lutron® and were installed using the Blindspace® concealment products. Bespoke electric curtains were included to provide softness and the fully concealed blinds were used to control the light and privacy. Through careful planning from the outset of the project, the inclusion of concealed blinds has achieved the best end result. Dark-coloured fabrics have been used where maximum visibility was desired but softer white-toned used in bath and dressing rooms. Bedrooms and media room have been supplied using dark-coloured blackout material to make a statement when used.

Beautiful seaside property with a view worth waking up to and when you want to. This large feature window is approximately 3600mm wide and 4000mm high and the blinds have been skilfully concealed within the horizontal section above the opening door without closing off any of the glazing area. Grants have experience from many projects featuring bottom up blinds for gable end windows. So often the addition of a large gable creates a nightmare to find a shading solution that works.  We recommend contacting us during the detailed design stage. This client contacted Grants prior to ordering the windows and since then we worked together and achieved amazing results - as good as Blackout blinds in a bedroom gable can get.The end result looks amazing!

A client in Essex wanted to adorn their luxury residence with digitally printed blinds throughout. From nature to citiscape, over 30 panels were printed and suspended from the Silent Gliss panel glide system.

The project Le Thémis is a display of sustainability . The north façade is made out of glass to attract natural light and create reflections . To link the old structure and the new one was the main challenge to this project . As a result , the extension is a minimal and curvy volumen which adapts itself to the existing building . Union Industries, the UK’s leading manufacturer of high-speed industrial doors, has completed one of its largest individual projects with the supply and installation of 40 of its rapid-roller doors at Princes Group UK’s (Princes) food production site in Long Sutton. Having supplied Princes with more than 100 high-speed industrial doors across seven of its sites since 2010, Leeds-based Union Industries has installed a further 40 rapid-roller doors at its Long Sutton site near Spalding in Lincolnshire.

Caribbean Blinds have been an external shading expert since 1987. based in Sudbury provide from outdoor living to solar shading, exclusively designing and UK manufacturing luxury external shading systems.Helmsman manufactured, delivered and installed 22 two compartment heavy-duty laminate with camlock locker door. The specification of the locker is 1800 high, 300 wide and 450 deep, powder coated in black and with a laminate door colour of ‘Fenix Nero’.‘Fenix Nero’ is an aesthetic style of laminate, which has low light reflectivity with a matt surface. Additionally, it has a soft touch as well as being anti-fingerprint colour.On the laminated lockers the clients decided to have an oval laminate number plate with a key, making it easy for staff to use as they will be allocated a locker and a key to keep their personal belongings secure.The bespoke lockers were designed and manufactured at Helmsman. The Conduit is an existing client of Caribbean Blinds having used our louvered pergolas at their previous club in Mayfair in 2018. Knowing both the benefits of installing louvered pergolas, providing flexible shade and shelter allowing the terrace to be used all year round, therefore providing an important revenue stream for the business along with a unique dining experience for their discerning members along with the service we offer, the Conduit wanted to replicate this at their new club in Covent Garden, albeit on a much larger scale.The new roof terrace, which was on the 7th floor, had a footprint of approx. 300sq/m. The client wanted to cover 2/3rds of this with pergolas, leaving the remaining 1/3rd completely open. The model was to be our Prestige Pod, which they had previously installed, where the louvered roof not only rotates but fully retracts and when closed is completely watertight. A total cluster of 8 modules were required to cover a surface area of c. 200sq/m. The perimeter edges were equipped with screens to offer protection from the elements to the sides. Additionally screens were inserted along with doorways between certain modules so areas could be zoned off for events and private functions. Each module had infra-red heating and festoon lighting installed to create a cosy and pleasant environment year round.A project of this size, requires clear communication, co-ordination and planning. We worked closely with the architect, designer, contractor and end client at every stage, to ensure a seamless process and journey. Site meetings were held with all parties. Full CAD drawings of the structures, positioning and importantly drainage, wiring and post mounting plate positions, which were highly critical as a steel sub frame had to be fabricated and installed and services run were provided. A dedicated project co-ordinator oversaw the entire project to ensure it run smoothly and on-time and in-budget.Like all roof terrace installations there were many challenges, from working at height to access with a road closure required for this project to allow craning of the goods to the terrace. Manufacture from order sign off for the bespoke pergolas was just 12 weeks, with installation taking 2 weeks, via our own trained teams and all in time for a VIP client 4th July party.Anthony Pollak, Facilities Director for The Conduit commented:“Having had a Caribbean blind pergola installation at our previous property we knew the quality of their products.When the opportunity came from our landlord to give us a substantial area to build a roof terrace we knew that we had to include Caribbean Blinds within the design.Installing the Caribbean Blinds pergolas has enabled us to use our roof terrace all year around. When a blind company was tasked with replacing the electric blinds in a popular highstreet noodle restaurant chain in St Albans, they knew they could depend on Yewdale.
