Four Seasons Hotel in Tianjin, China

A total of 31 Flexirol Straight Sliding systems were installed as room dividers in the Presidential Suite and as sliding doors in the hotel’s conference rooms. Soltaire 120 hardware was employed in the grand ballroom, with two sets of our Securefold 150 folding door systems fitted in the hotel’s restaurant.
Phase 1 of the build also included the installation of 32 Husky 100 sliding door hardware systems, complete with soft close mechanisms, in rooms for the hotel’s branded residences. The 2nd phase of the development will see the fit out of 143 rooms within the same tower.
The sky’s the limit for Polyflor flooring at Imperial War Museum

High performance sheet flooring from Polyflor was used to create a statement design floor in The Armoury Café and Kitchen at the Imperial War Museum Duxford in Cambridgeshire.
Designed by London based SHH Architecture & Interior Design, this refurbished restaurant area at Britain’s largest aviation museum features a monochrome floor design which was created using 300 m² of Polyflor’s Classic Mystique PUR vinyl flooring. Installed by flooring contractors Key Floors, the Smokestone, Nocturne and Quartz shades form concentric circles that echo the Royal Air Force logo.
Private apartment building in Denmark features Easy Glass Slim glass balcony railings

Skolegade, a street in the Danish city Aarhus, is known for its interesting restaurants, pubs and characterful timber-framed homes. A brand new three storey apartment building was added to the street. The spacious apartments each have access to an ample balcony surrounded by an Easy Glass Slim full glass balustrade. These balustrades allow maximum visibility of the building’s facade, with its striking steel structures. Easy Glass Slim was installed without making any special adjustments to the existing design. The back of the building features Q-railing Juliet balconies.
Royal Opera House

On the fourth floor of the Royal Opera House is a decking area of around 600sqm.
Originally a rest area for staff at the Royal Opera House, the decking area was to be re-purposed as part restaurant, part relaxation area, part meeting space and part open air dance training studio.
Buzon UK were commissioned to supply and install the DPH pedestal system to support the GRAD decking system supplied by Alfresco Floors.
The finished deck is part of a major transformation of the Royal Opera House by Stanton Williams and has been open to the public from September 2018.
Bolton Gate secure retail units in refurbished Victorian Market Hall Vaults

As part of a £14 million redevelopment of Bolton’s Market Place Shopping Centre, the extensive historic vaults that lay beneath were uncovered and developed into bar and restaurant units.
Bolton Gate were engaged to design, manufacture and install nine collapsible steel gates which spanned the openings some of which were arched and in keeping with the surrounding metalwork, a clear powder coating was applied over the galvanised substrate to match.
In addition to the vault gates, Bolton Gate also supplied a series of roller shutters, smoke and fire curtains in the upper development of the project.
A BONA FINISH FOR A FIR FLOOR
Bona Limited
The restaurant at Edinburgh's Botanic Gardens features a Douglas Fir floor finished with Bona Traffic HD. The area was sanded back to bare wood using Bona’s ‘dust free’ system so no need to ‘tent’ the adjacent mezzanine area. Traffic HD was specified to provide the required level of durability in such a busy area. It's a very low VOC formulation which protects wood floors in highly trafficked areas. Its fast development time means busy commercial floors can be put back into full use just 24 hours after application.

The Royal College of Pathologists have relocated their London Headquarters to the rapidly changing area of Aldgate, on
the Eastern fringes of the city. The new seven storey structure replaces an existing office block, providing a flexible and
environmentally efficient building to house their growing needs. The building design includes major conference facilities,
meeting rooms, offices, a multi-function auditorium, exhibition space, restaurant facilities and accommodation. Cordek were
asked by the specialist concrete frame contractor Oliver Connell & Son to devise a formwork system to allow the construction
of ribbed concrete floors.

Stabilisation - Sudsweb, Abgrid & Terrex, Devour, Holmfirth, UK

In 2017 permission was granted for the redevelopment of an historic abandoned mill in Holmfirth into a restaurant and cookery school.
It was soon clear the ground to be used for parking needed stabilisation.
To completely dig out the area would have been costly and there was little time for unplanned work.
ABG offered a stabilisation combination. Terrex SNW geotextile layer replaced the 50mm sand binding.
Abgrid was used as a basel stiffening layer and Sudsweb tied to the grid with Abfix ties.
Stone was then compacted ready for ABG permeable paving (see SuDS permeable paving Sudspave, Devour, Holmfirth)

Soundis was contracted to supply Acoustic Chip Board 28mm Overlay.As part of a major reinvestment programme into the northern seaside town of Blackpool, the owners of the promenade theme park, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, commissioned a luxury 120-room hotel featuring a 90-seat restaurant and state-of-the-art conferencing and event facilities catering for up to 200 delegates.The product chosen for this project was a 28mm Acoustic Chipboard Overlay Product commonly used over concrete subfloors for its cost-effective solution to impact noise with minimal impact on the floor to ceiling heights of the building.

The new 4-screen Everyman Cinema in the town centre of Altrincham was created by refurbishing a vacant former retail unit.
Designed by Fusion DNA, the striking building envelope features Senior’s high-performance, fully capped SF52 aluminium curtain walling. With exceptional thermal efficiency and attractive slim sightlines, the SF52 system created a welcoming entrance to the venue and a bright and attractive interior for the first-floor bar and restaurant.
The new cinema also features Senior’s robust SPW501 commercial aluminium doors, which are ideally suited to high traffic retail and leisure schemes.

A Stannah people-moving platform lift is welcoming mobility compromised patrons to Dishoom Kensington, a London restaurant that rekindles the cosmopolitan romance of Irani cafés in 1940s Jazz Age Bombay.
Filled with original period and bespoke pieces, this atmospheric venue calls on its access lift to escort people of all mobilities, from bag-laden buggy-pushers to wheelchair users, between ground-floor entrance to the bar / dining room with its Bombay comfort food and live jazz.

Roof terrace seating and planters for redeveloped Westgate Centre, Oxford

The £440m redevelopment of Westgate Oxford shopping centre, Furnitubes designers worked with landscape architects LDA Design to develop a series of planting and seating solutions for the rooftop terraces, designed around a kitchen garden concept and creating a series of unique outdoor spaces for 12 bars and restaurants and offering impressive views of the Oxford skyline and the countryside beyond. Themed areas include the sinuous Crinkle Crankle, a Vegetable Garden and the more formal Garden Court as well as the Kitchen Garden itself. Planters were manufactured predominantly in steel, some with additional timber cladding, others with integrated seating and lighting.

LTS Luxury Trim System from Gradus was specified for the Blunsdon House Hotel, a unique four-star family owned hotel.
The luxurious Blunsdon House has 108 bedrooms, two restaurants, three bars, 11 meeting rooms and a leisure club with an indoor pool and small golf course.
As part of a recent refurbishment project in Carrie’s bar, the hotel required a durable, robust trim to withstand the amount of traffic accessing the bar daily. Gradus Luxury Trim System in polished brass was installed to create a safe transition between floorcoverings, whilst creating a premium and modern look.

RailRoad seating & planters perfect solution for Westquay Shopping Centre

Westquay is an 800,000 square feet shopping centre spread over four levels and containing 150 retail units and restaurants. Furnitubes’ RailRoad range suited this site perfectly, allowing seating and planter modules to be joined and therefore be sufficiently heavy and stable to be used freestanding (so avoiding the need for intrusive foundations). Seating has been provided for up to 20 people, and 12 new planters introduce greenery to this previously somewhat austere building facade, creating an attractive setting for Westquay visitors to stop, rest for a moment and enjoy the outdoors on their walk between the car park and shopping centre.

The British Museum

The British Museum opened its doors in 1759. Now home to some 8 million works from a number of different cultures, the museum stands as an iconic London attraction. The Museum made the decision in November 2013 to replace the restaurant’s old flooring, as it could no longer handle the vast number of visitors. W B Simpson Ltd, was the chosen tiling contractor to complete the new installation. Marc Poland, Director at W B Simpson Ltd said “The architect consulting on this project specified we use ARDEX UK’s products. Their high performance adhesives are typically the preferred choice of architects.”
Mackie Mayor Food Hall in Manchester's Northern Quarter

This Grade II listed building was first opened in 1858 by Mayor Mackie of Manchester as part of the Smithfield fresh produce market but it remained empty and neglected for years until recently restored to its’ former glory.
In addition to the large seating area in the main restaurant hall, a rear external annex was created with a glass roof in keeping with the building’s semi-industrial heritage. Bolton Gate Company were commissioned to design, manufacture and install collapsible gates with special removable bottom tracks to accommodate the sloping floor level to seal off this area when outside trading hours.
Coal Drops Yard - Kings Cross London

AATi Commercial supplied over 1500 metres of cast metal anti-slip stair nosings for the Coal Drops Yard project.
Historically this site was used to store coal (London’s only available energy source at the time), On the discovery of electricity the use of coal was challenged and electricity prevailed driving the coal sheds into deterioration.
Staircases are perfectly poised throughout this re-developed retail quarter providing access to shops and restaurants on all levels.
With the vast amount of heavy pedestrian footfall expected, the AATi stair nosing product ref: SN9/55 in Cast Iron (zinc plated black) was chosen.
The Chocolate Quarter, Bristol

One of the most recognisable buildings in Keynsham, UK has been given a new lease of life which includes a number of new restaurants, a cinema, spa and swimming pool alongside over 55's living accommodation.
The former Fry's chocolate factory was built in the 1920s, and it later became home to Cadbury. After a £60million investment, St Monica Trust has converted the iconic former Cadbury's chocolate factory into 151 assisted living apartments and a 90-bed nursing care home was project managed by the Andrew Wilson Partnership, with architects KWL of South Wales, and AWW of Bristol.

Goodluck Hope is an exciting new development located on the historic Leamouth Peninsula, with incredible views along the River Thames, settled by Allies and Morrison architects.
The development includes new shops, restaurants, bars and outside spaces to eat, shop and relax in.
In order, to protect the façade elements and ensuring the protection of the building against driving rain and moisture preventing future corrosion, insulation deterioration and mould growth at the same time it increases the building energy efficiency and minimizes the condensation risk, Effisus Breather FR-B Membrane and Effisus Breather FR Class A1 membrane were applied.
DRU Metro designer gas fires are centrepiece of luxury north London town houses

O1A Architects oversaw the conversion of a former Gordon Ramsay restaurant in Islington into two luxury town houses with roof gardens and many unique features.
O1A chose DRU Metro 100XT/2 corner gas fires for the main living areas in the properties. They utilise the balanced flue system to be flexibly located anywhere in the building without the need for a chimney.
False chimneybreasts have been created in each property to house the impressive log-effect fireplaces. They also accommodate the flat screen TVs making perfect focal points and conceal the concentric flues, which exit the building through the roof.

Having previously worked with Tarkett on other projects, MSV was keen to rekindle its partnership when it came to choosing a high quality flooring solution for its new restaurant at Donington Park.

Heathrow terminal 5 was a project over 20 years in the making. Designed to be the largest free standing building in the United Kingdom, Terminal 5 is a £4 billion development constructed to maintain Heathrow’s status as one of the premier international airports in the world.
Built to handle 35 million passengers a year, Terminal 5 houses more than 100 restaurants and shops within the building for passengers to choose from.
HAG’s role was to provide vital high-level security to a large number of shopping outlets, fitting our Alulink security grilles, Armourguard roller shutters and Alishield roller shutters.
No horsing around when it comes to secondary glazing an office

Thermal and acoustic insulation secondary glazing was installed by Selectaglaze for the National Trust as part of a full-scale refurbishment at the Grade I Listed Belton House stable block in Grantham, Lincolnshire, which has been converted into restaurant and office space.
Selectaglaze Series 10 horizontal sliders were specified for 24 of the original leaded windows in the offices, and meeting rooms. Custom made timber grounds were affixed to all the openings which were splayed or out of shape. As a result of the installation, thermal efficiency has improved considerably, with the added benefit of increased acoustic insulation.
