TRC Windows
This Grade II listed building in Thames Ditton dates from 1792. The former manor house, priory and chapel was repurposed as a care home in 1905 by the Nuns of Compassion, yet in recent years the historic buildings have posed challenges to delivering modern standards of care.
Oliver & Robb Architects have rationalised the design in a renovation project to created 78 luxury bed spaces.
We were appointed to design, supply and install a total of 263 timber tilt and slide sash windows, tilt and turn windows, single doors and French doors to sympathetically upgrade the property.

The recent CAT B refurbishment and rooftop extension of the 1930’s building Eagle House situated in the heart of Bristol sees a transformation of a vacant building to approximately 38,000 sq. ft of an attractive workplace. Eagle House was a dynamic D&B project, utilising the latest wireless lighting control technology across the large fit out. The 299 team worked closely with everyone involved in this complex project, supporting and coordinating the installation on site. Our light engineers attended numerous site meetings and provided the project team with feedback and guidance mainly with the lighting control systems.
Office Lighting for a Grade II Listed CAT A Fitout. 4 Tavistock Place, London.

Located on the south side of Tavistock Place, in the heart of the intellectual hub of London, the recently refurbished 4 Tavistock Place offers approximately 8077 sq ft of high specification CAT A modern office space and boasts fantastic outside space and terraces. Full lighting design and calculations alongside luminaire schedules were produced for the office space and communal areas by the team to ensure the correct light levels were achieved. The linear profile Rio Suspended was used across the scheme as the main office lighting. Several LED downlights from 299 range have been supplied for the communal areas.

The recent CAT A fitout in a new mixed-use development Stratosphere Tower in London offers approximately 2,800 sq. ft of contemporary commercial office space with plenty of daylight and a premium finish. Our lighting design team worked closely with the architect, making sure the scheme achieves the CIBSE and BCO guidelines whilst maintaining the contemporary look desired by the client. The architect liked the clean and contemporary look of the Rio Suspended and Rio Surface mounted. Thanks to its superb build quality, excellent performance and high visual comfort, Rio is a popular choice of lighting for working environments.

Popular shopping centre The Mall Maidstone recently underwent a £6 million refurbishment that was completed in 5 months and took place mostly during the night. Some of the work carried out included smarter strip lighting which changes according to the weather, white porcelain flooring, and enlarged shop fronts.
CS provided them with GTP-300 HD expansion joint covers. This is a strong, recess mounted, and flush floor cover that is perfect for this type of application with persistent traffic over the joint. This durable joint cover will allow traffic in the shopping centre to move safely for years to come.
Franke products chosen for UK leading theme park and attraction refurbishment

Franke were thrilled to provide products to one of the UK’s leading theme parks and attractions for a recent refurbishment, which consisted of a large male toilet room, a large female toilet room and a less abled disabled washroom.
Water conservation was also an important aspect. Franke supplied a number of self closing Pureline taps, which only release water for a controlled amount of time, bringing down water usage in the washroom. Stainless steel table top soap dispensers (SD80) were also supplied, removing the possibility of spillages onto the vanity units and making the area easier to clean.

In a recent refurbishment of their main sports hall the choice of the playing indoor surface underwent a rigorous specification process. The hugely important decision would demand that only the best products be used and the final specification would settle on some 610m2 of Taraflex® vinyl sports flooring in ‘Maple’ from international flooring specialist Gerflor.

GXT11 from Gradus’ market-leading XT range of stair edgings were specified for the project to enhance the buildings safety, while maintaining a clean and contemporary aesthetic.
XT stair edgings comprise an aluminium channel with a slip-resistant insert that extends around the leading edge of the profile to increase underfoot contact with the slip-resistant element of the stair edging, helping to reduce the risk of slips, trips and falls on the stairs

LTS Luxury Trim System from Gradus was specified for the Blunsdon House Hotel, a unique four-star family owned hotel.
The luxurious Blunsdon House has 108 bedrooms, two restaurants, three bars, 11 meeting rooms and a leisure club with an indoor pool and small golf course.
As part of a recent refurbishment project in Carrie’s bar, the hotel required a durable, robust trim to withstand the amount of traffic accessing the bar daily. Gradus Luxury Trim System in polished brass was installed to create a safe transition between floorcoverings, whilst creating a premium and modern look.
Manchester Royal Infirmary, Manchester

The redevelopment of Manchester Royal Infirmary was a multi-stage project designed to regenerate the building and deliver long term improvements to the hospital. MEP contractor on the project, Piggott & Whifield, needed a trusted and efficient solution to suspend pipework and electrical containment. Gripple supplied QT Clamps and Universal Brackets, a time and labour saving pipework solution, as well as the recently launched UniGrip hanger. Gripple’s next generation wire rope suspension system, UniGrip is a turn-key solution for the suspension of building services, which helped to deliver significant time savings and faster installation across the project.

Located at the heart of North Shields Fish Quay, the museum offers a unique experience to explore 900 years of maritime heritage. The Custard Factory, built around a century ago to manufacture Sir Alfred Bird’s famous dessert, has recently been revamped into an arts and media quarter for Birmingham.
Specialist subcontractors DSM Flooring were looking for a quality floor access solution to install in the highly trafficked entrance atrium in the development.
Howe Green supplied the 5000 Series Light Duty Floor Access Cover to provide easy and safe access to the essential building services concealed under the flooring within the atrium.
The 5000 Series cover lay flush with the flooring to prevent any slips or trips.

Hush Acoustics were called to Douglas, the capital of the Isle of Man and home to a beautiful mid terraced property recently converted into 4 spacious apartments over 4 floors.
The apartments are situated very close to the road and after spending time inside, some road traffic as well as public background noise could be heard from inside the property.
It was important to ensure appropriate acoustic measures were carried out when converting this existing property into apartments and that the party walls and/or ceilings met the required standards for conversion under the Building Regulations, Approved Document E.
Manchester Metropolitan University 1st Hufcor ‘Summit’ wall in Europe

Manchester Metropolitan University have recently installed the first Hufcor ‘Summit’ vertically operated movable wall in Europe. The Hufcor Summit fully automatic operable wall provides the ideal solution to divide the open plan area from the servery area in the Geoffrey Manton Building. The system is made up of four panels approximately 11000mm wide, each panel stacking in the ceiling void when the wall is retracted. The panels are finished in a white high gloss finish which also provides a writable surface, in the case of MMU, a graphic design has been applied to enhance the image of the Atrium Café.

Johnstone’s Water-Based Aqua Gloss system was used for the interior woodwork throughout the Academy after becoming the natural successor to solvent-based trim paints, which have been impacted by legislation in recent years.

Bay Tree House is a Residential Care Home, situated in a quiet residential area near to the town of Wrexham. Orchard Care Group recently completed a major upgrade and refurbishment plan to transform the building but ultimately keep its homely feel for which it is well-known.
Richard Burbidge pre primed round handrails and associated brushed nickel brackets/end caps were used throughout the home to create not only a safety conscious, but beautiful modern finish.
Various decorative moulding profiles were also used to create depth and a panelled affect on plain walls.
Street artists put colour back into the community at Preston Road

Hull's Preston Road Estate recently saw 130 artists use 22 empty houses for unique graffiti artworks in a weekend-long takeover.
Hundreds of litres of Sandtex masonry paint were donated to the Bankside Gallery street art collective to create blank canvases on the houses for the artists to paint over.
The takeover drew artists and visitors from across the country, and has put pride back into the community.
A similar event took place last year, and Humberside Fire & Rescue Service has since reported a 41 per cent drop in vandalism on derelict properties that feature the murals.

This SieMatic S2 kitchen sits in a recently remodelled contemporary home. The large extension gives an abundance of light to the open plan living area whilst the kitchen occupies part of the original structure.
Using a mixture of graphite grey high gloss and titan pine laminate cabinets, Glacier White Corian work surfaces help to balance the darker area with the new bright living space.
The result is a surprisingly light and airy kitchen set around a large, dominant central island with seating on one side. The use of Miele appliances and a downdraft extractor finishes off this room well.

EQT Partners, have offices everywhere from Amsterdam to Shanghai, and recently acquired a new space in London to house their rapidly growing team. Scott Brownrigg approached Planet Partitioning requesting a glazed partitioning and door package. In areas where high acoustics were the priority, such as meeting rooms and the Boardroom, double-glazed LOFT54, partnered with double-glazed IsoPro doors, were specified.Additionally, the IsoPro doors had banding applied, to match the corresponding LOFT54 partitioning. Where acoustic performance did not need to be exceptionally high, p20 glazed partitioning screens and IsoTec slim framed glass doors were used for office fronts.

Vinyl flooring from Polyflor’s safety and homogeneous flooring collections was recently installed through new facilities at Cheshunt School in Hertfordshire.
Approximately 2000m² of flooring from the Mystique PUR, Prestige PUR and Polysafe Mosaic PUR ranges was fitted at the secondary school by Flortec Ltd working for construction company Beard.
Ideally suited to busy education environments, Mystique PUR in Titanio was used in classrooms while Prestige PUR in Grey Marl was chosen for corridors, staircases and other circulation areas.
Polysafe Mosaic PUR safety flooring in Grey Fusion was selected for use in the school’s science classrooms and toilets areas.

A combination of tiles in contrasting colours were chosen by design consultancy Path Design of London to create this striking effect.
Flooring contractors Redlay Flooring installed 185m² of Expona Design flooring in the drinking and dining areas of the high street artisan coffee shop fitted out by Uplands Retail. The design incorporated a mixture of contemporary colours and textures using tiles in Light Elm wood effect and textile effect Creme Matrix and Mocca Matrix.

500 m² of Classic Mystique PUR sheet vinyl flooring in two complementary grey shades, Silver Mist 1430 and Nocturne 1380, was installed within the office canteen to provide a neutral base for the bright furniture and food serving stations.
