The developer aims to convert the properties into a “super mansion” complete with a large underground leisure complex comprising of a pool, bar, cinema, jacuzzi and a car lift from street level to the basement car park. When completed, the new development is expected to be worth £200 million.

The lack of gymnasium/theater space prevented the school from hosting their own home games and productions. SOLUTION The platforms feature self-storing side rails and removable front rails, both with tinted acrylic infill panels, as well as twist & store P rails in the aisles. The platform decks are carpeted as standard and the system features laminate fascias to improve the appearance of the unit when closed.

The SkyWalk at Blackpool Tower is an impressive 380ft high glass viewing platform. Visitors can look right through the glass below their feet for an exhilarating sense of how high they are. To make sure they can enjoy this to its full effect, the floor of the platform must be cleaned at least twice a year. The facilities team at Blackpool Tower are committed to making this process as risk-free as possible. With that in mind they called on installer Eurosafe Solutions, working closely with MSA Safety, to provide the most innovative and easy to use solution available.

Iraq, Afghanistan & Gulf War Memorial - Portland Stone

The memorial to the dead in the Iraq, Afghanistan and Gulf conflicts was produced in Jordans Basebed Portland Stone and is composed of 10 blocks, the largest of which weighed 7000kg each. In fact they were so heavy that stoneCIRCLE's lifting equipment could not cope with them and we had to buy in a 15 tonne crane to help with the job. The crane now makes life much easier for the team that unloads the delivery lorries. The stone is smooth and lettered on the back and front but rough hewn on the other 2 sides.

Flexi Support Systems from Pump House

Products: Flexi heavy – Modular Frameworks & Flexi Access – Bespoke access platforms. Services: Air-handling units & associated access requirements. Roof build-up: Warm roof design – PIR/PUR insulation with PVC/TPO field membrane. Pump House were proud to have been chosen as the preferred supplier of building services support systems to the project, with support frames required to fourteen rooftop air-handling units. Each framework was also accompanied by a bespoke access platform to one longitudinal side of the air-handling units for maintenance purposes.

King’s Cross Station

BriggsAmasco undertook resurfacing at King’s Cross Station, improving platforms and walkways, as part of the station’s wider redevelopment programme. A team of eight BriggsAmasco operatives and managers carried out works throughout the night on a shift basis over a three month period. Using a mastic asphalt system laid across concrete floor slabs, platforms one to eight will each benefit from new surfaces, following removal of any existing asphalt. The new asphalt has been mixed with luminous sand which provides both an aesthetically pleasing finish whilst offering a good foot grip and finish.

Bespoke external furniture for Cardiff & Vale College

The new city centre campus at Cardiff & Vale College sees a distinctive wedge shape building designed with a high focus on sustainability. Furnitubes designers worked closely with the project contractors and Architects involved who were keen to encourage open welcoming spaces for students and members of the public. Part of the solution included a bespoke Elements Podium platform, manufactured in iroko timber slats with steel supports. The platform created an informal seating provision to encourage interaction and socialisation amongst students. Also supplied to the development were a number of contemporary seats and benches to suit the character of the scheme.

A bespoke performance and school stage was installed at the Baysgarth School. A full theatre setup was installed which included curtains and backdrops as well as sound and lighting systems. 40 Alu Rapid platforms were installed with oak veneered fascias, steps and integrated socket boxes.

After years of neglect the grade II listed Florence Institute has received a full restoration programme. Working with A&B Engineering who provided the replica windows, Dyer were able to automate the opening of the windows using the unique Solis – our solar powered chain drive.

North East Metro Stations

Stonhard Stonres RTZ was chosen to refurbish the platforms at metro stations in the North East of England. The product was chosen as it could be laid over the existing terrazzo tiles reducing down-time for the stations. The flooring system also offers sound absorbing properties and isn't as hard as terrazzo tiles under foot providing added comfort for busy commuters

The Hallé Orchestra recently opened a St Peter's practice base in an old church in Manchester. CPS Manufacturing designed, manufactured and installed a custom demountable stage. The stage was hardwearing, Karndean flooring finish to match the surroundings. The stage included Alu Combi and Alu Rapid staging platforms built around the pillars built in the practice hall.

Joseph Black Building

The Joseph Black Building, found in the King’s Buildings Campus at the University of Edinburgh, houses the School of Chemistry and is one of the oldest buildings on the campus. But its existing copper roof covering had come to the end of its natural life. Sika Sarnafil’s flagship Sarnafil Plus refurbishment offer was the perfect solution for this project. Sika Sarnafil Membrane S327-15EL in Patina Green was chosen to replace the old roof covering, as the local authority planning department advised that this product was an acceptable replacement for the original copper roofs on the listed building.

Civic Court Leeds

Johnstone's Trade Paints - a brand of PPG Industries

Civic Court is an imposing Grade II-listed structure in the heart of Leeds. Many of the building’s period features had been covered up and forgotten about during renovation work in the 1990s, so it was the job of Greens Decorating Contractors, together with lead contractor Estilo Interiors, to carefully and skilfully restore these historic features. Working under the supervision of English Heritage, over a period of three months a team of six used a range of Johnstone’s Trade and PPG coatings to give the building a new lease of life.

The Chocolate Works Care Village - York

Johnstone's Trade Paints - a brand of PPG Industries

Former Terry's Chocolate Factory in York is transformed into a spectacular Care Village with the help of Johnstone's Trade. The landmark building is Grade II listed and, after a number of years lying unused and unloved was brought back to life using Johnstone’s Trade’s Covaplus Vinyl Matt and Acrylic Durable Matt. Applied to the walls and ceilings of the interior building, making it ideal for high traffic areas. In addition, Johnstone’s Water Based Undercoat and Gloss were used for the trim and window frames, providing a high sheen finish that will stay whiter for longer.

Student accommodation upgraded using Clement EB24 steel windows

St Michael's Court building was completed in the 1930s, and overlooks the Market Place in central Cambridge. It is a Grade II Listed Building, situated within the Cambridge Conservation Area. Clement EB24 windows with single point locking were specified as the best match for the eighty year old windows that were to be replaced. Restrictors were fitted to all relevant windows, as safety for the student accommodation was paramount. Clement worked with the college to ensure all the windows were replaced during the summer holidays to ensure minimal disruption to college life.

Instead of an old elevator, it was important to the church that a potential new lift solution was well-fitted into the environment and had as little negative impact as possible on the building’s aesthetic appearance. The church in Söderled’s employees had seen the FlexStep lift and contacted our Swedish distributor. A salesman visited the church and one quotation later, the church ordered a FlexStep. After disassembly of existing staircase and elevator, a FlexStep was installed and led to a very satisfied customer.

Wellington Hospital, London

Balfour Beatty approached Planet Partitioning with a high-performance refurbishment specification for the UK's largest private hospital. For all the patient and treatment rooms, Planet Partitioning used p20 demountable glass partitioning with Eclipse sliding doors. FireStop partitioning ensured that lift lobby partitioning has a fire integrity and insulation rating of EI120/120. Doors for the lift lobby are fire rated for EI 60/60 and steel framed.

NORTHAMPTON SCHOOL FOR GIRLS

PROJECT OVERVIEW Hussey Seatway were asked to design and manufacture a custom Retractable Seating system to meet the schools' specific requirements. SOLUTION As part of the redevelopment, Hussey Seatway were chosen to provide new Retractable and Fixed seating for the Theatre, in total 630 Arts chairs were installed on Seatway TP platforms on the ground floor and fixed tiers on the balcony.

Hotel Vivanta by Taj - New Delhi (India)

The Taj Group of Hotels is India’s biggest chain of luxury hotels and is part of the Tata Group, India’s biggest business conglomerate. Vivanta by Taj Dwarka is a luxury 5 star hotel in close proximity to Delhi International airport. Pyroguard Integrity Plus bespoke toughened fire glass was installed in screens and doors to enclose the lift lobby, where radiation control (EW) glazing was required to protect the lifts in case of fire. The steel frames were fabricated and installed by Pacific Fire Controls.

Reynaers Knowledge Centre, Aluminium systems, visit the showroom

Visitors are greeted into Reynaers Knowledge Centre through an automatic door beneath a sleek cantilever running the length of the building. They enter into a double-height showroom and reception area and can travel up the stairs on to a viewing platform overlooking the showroom. This allows guests to experience a true representation of the scale and quality of the products on display, including multi-level curtain walling, bifolding doors and accessible windows.

Procter Contracts

Following fire damage to the existing timber fencing, Procter Contracts were tasked with replacing the damaged timber. Due to the timber fencing being 7.00m high, there was an issue with “working at height”, also working in a residential car park. Our trained operatives were working of a mobile platform to secure the boards as required. With due care to ensure no damage was caused to other vehicles in the car park.

Sir John Colfox School Stage and Curtain System

The Sir John Colfox School in Dorset worked with CPS to install a new stage and curtain system. CPS designed, manufactured and installed 20 Alu Rapid stage platforms for the school. The easy-running Alu Compact staging system was installed, which provides all of the main and side curtains with light hangers. The system can also be used to incorporate set decorations and studding partitions for the school's performances.

Woven wire mesh ceiling at Stratford Station

Stratford Station is situated in the middle of Stratford city and was one of the key gateway stations servicing the Olympic stadiums 2012. The platform ceiling features triangulated panels of architectural wire mesh DOKAWELL-MONO 3021. With its high open area the mesh creates a shimmering veil whilst the structure of the canopy remains semi-visible. Every other panel is backlight creating an alternating pattern of light and dark.

A sympathetic solution was required to conceal new services against the exposed element of the building. A new versatile picture hanging system has been introduced as well as the introduction of energy efficient LED lighting. Murray Edwards College was equipped with a range of Hacel lighting products, bringing together architectural style and innovation with outstanding performance to create an engaging and inspiring environment.

Redevelopment of Insworke Mill, Lewis Decking used for acoustics and under floor heating

Insworke Mill was originally built in 1590 and survived as a working Mill until the First World War. After falling into disrepair it’s now undergoing a major refurbishment to convert it to its new life as commercial properties to the ground floor with a luxury residential dwelling above. To the first floor a Lewis® Deck/screed solution was used to provide acoustic separating floors with timber beams left exposed, replicating the original beams. On the ground floor; Lewis® was used as part of a warm floor solution above the cellar areas. U/F heating was incorporated in all floors.

19th century restored church transformed into 5 unique luxury homes with new Clement steel windows and rooflights

A 19th century Listed Building, St Paul’s Church, has a prominent position at the top of St John’s Hill in Battersea. Current owners, The James Laurence Group, worked alongside the London Borough of Wandsworth Planning Department to agree how best this historical building should be restored and provided with a new lease of life. Clement were chosen to supply all the steel windows and conservation rooflights. The bespoke demands of the project required Clement to use two steel window ranges. Both W20 and EB24 were fitted to create the beautiful shaped windows which include club heads.

This beautiful Grade II listed building has been lying unused and unloved for many years and Springfield Healthcare wanted to restore the setting into an environment which not only pays tribute to the heritage of the building but also provides a unique residential home with specialist care facilities.
