Easy Glass Pro glass railing - Museum Vlaardingen (NL)

Easy Glass Pro glass railing - Museum Vlaardingen (NL)

Q-railing

In Vlaardingen Museum, the Netherlands, old meets new. The use of concrete, aluminium and glass creates a powerful sense of open space and transparency. The many level changes and loft-like spaces meant it was important to find a balustrade solution unobstructed by a conventional handrail or metal grip. The Easy Glass Pro structural glass balustrade offered the ability to make fine adjustments to the positioning of each glass panel from the installation side – invaluable when being installed on the various sections of finished concrete flooring levels.

The Rutherford Cancer Care centre Living Wall

Scotscape Smartscape Ltd

Several factors influenced the design and plant choice for the 104m2 living wall at PPI, Newport. Initially the idea for the living wall was from Mike Moran, the CEO of Proton Partners International Ltd, in response to a personal family circumstance. His vision was to create a treatment centre that reflected the preservation and promotion of life. The design brief looked to build on this vision with biophilia and biodiversity at its core. Select species were chosen with their year round pollinating capabilities, air cleaning qualities as well as their function as a habitat for wildlife.

Protect your building against wind driven rain, a common source of moisture affecting buildings in the UK

SureCav Ltd

Damage from the build up of moisture results in mould, mildew and condensation on windows and in the loft space. Additionally, where there is a moisture problem in the wall cavity, damage readily occurs to the insulation and wall ties, affecting wall plates, the timber frame itself and installed joinery. Preventing this from occuring is obviously a priority in the minds of all designers and builders interested in quality construction. SureCav Provides the Solution. By building with the SureCav panels instead of a using a block leaf you are providing a barrier to protect from wind driven rain.

Making a development stand out is a priority for housebuilders, who want to attract buyers in an increasingly competitive marketplace. The kitchen is always going to be a key room for buyers, with the average Brit spending 253 minutes per week in the kitchen cooking meals. Add on top of that washing-up, cleaning, preparing packed lunches and even helping with homework, it’s fair to say that we spend a lot of time in the kitchen. So how can developers ensure they seduce buyers with a functional, striking kitchen, that also adds an element of luxury to daily life?
