Our team at Helmsman manufactured, delivered, and installed a variety of our Heated Lockers. There were 35 three-compartment Laminate Lockers to accommodate 105 people, as well as installing 28 Z Lockers to accommodate 56 people.The lockers were manufactured with wet specifications which means that the Laminate lockers are manufactured for an environment where there is humidity, which can also withstand rust. The lockers are manufactured with an aluminium and stainless-steel body and laminate doors.The specifications of the three-compartment lockers and Z lockers were to be 1775mm high, 298mm wide, and 450mm deep. Along with the lockers, the lockers were all installed with seat stands. The measurement of the seat stand was 300mm wide and 450 deep, the stands were powder coated in colour ‘Black’, to match the body of the lockers. Whereas the seating was in our standard slats of Ash Hardwood.The body of the Heated Lockers was powder coated in ‘Black’. The laminate doors were in the vibrant colour of ‘Ballerina’. The heated lockers were finished with Lowe & Fletcher Nimbus in ‘Black’ which is a great choice as it secures personal belongings, along with many benefits such as having a collection of user modes such as public, private, or technician mode.

Wall & Door Protection Specialists, Yeoman Shield recently collaborated with a Yorkshire hospital to provide Door Protection for a ward refurbishment that would be in line with the dementia-friendly environment brief. The work required the doors along the ward corridor to be protected using different coloured Yeoman Shield Protection Panels which had to be compatible with a pre-accepted pallet of shades found to be conducive to wayfinding benefits for people with dementia.Yeoman Shield was able to meet the colour brief drawing from their wide range of 58+ colours available in the protection panel range.The Door Protection panels were installed, along with matching door frame protection, by Yeoman Shield’s directly employed fixing operatives, in Royal Blue, Aubergine, Raspberry Red, Tangerine, Lilac, Yellow, and Pastel Green shades, providing an attractive, protective, and hygienic surface finish.With the ward experiencing constant, heavy footfall, the door protection panels will play an important role in guarding against detrimental impact damage caused by the movement of beds, trolleys, people, and equipment. This can help to reduce the amount of time and money spent on the repair and redecoration of doors.

This range is specially designed for areas with height limitation and load classes up to C250. Since this specific case involved a pedestrian tunnel, channels with heel-proof grates that comply with PMR regulations for people with reduced mobility were installed.

Rhodes House is set in a large garden on Oxfords South Parks Road, it was designed by Herbert Baker in the 1920s and is the base for the Rhodes Trust – a charitable trust founded by imperialist Cecil Rhodes which offers scholarships to the University of Oxford.To enable the trust to more forward and offer more scholarships Stanton Williams’ set about “architecturally liberating the building, to unlock its potential as a diverse and inspiring platform for ethical, creative and courageous people across geographies, cultures and disciplines.” The project included restoring the original building as well as creating 40 ensuite bedrooms, improved office accommodation, a range of meeting spaces and a hall for 300 people in the basement.3v worked in partnership with Stanton Williams and Beard Construction to develop the perfect Ironmongery scheme to work with both the old and new elements of the building using a mixture of antique brass for refurbished areas and stainless steel for new accommodation. We also undertook an extensive review of all existing doors and hardware and upgraded hinges, closers and signage to meet current UK fire regulations. Our products work seamlessly with the architects design aspirations helping to create a wonderful collaboration of old and new.Photography: Neil Kenyon

Our terrazzo was supplied throughout, including water features, amphitheatre steps, paving and planter edges with complex 3D pieces. The challenge for In Opera was to provide over 3000 pieces, 90% of which were unique and many having to fit into each other perfectly. The 1.5-acre park will see a four-fold increase in the amount of planting and dramatically enhance biodiversity, with 25% of the area featuring green space that is accessible to all.Quadrupling the amount of green space at Broadgate, the aim is to boost the emotional and physical well-being of those that work at Broadgate and the local community while supporting British Land’s commitment to sustainability and biodiversity.We are proud to have been involved in such a major development, which aims to draw people together and help the communities thrive in a better environment. What was once a dark uninviting space has been transformed into a light and welcoming place where people can truly live, where communities and businesses can thrive, and that helps the planet to flourish. It is a more attractive, less corporate environment for Broadgate, which creates places to dwell, not just pass through.

ASF Manufactured this large planter and seat from corten steel. The structure of the planter is 100% corten, manufactured as modular sections that were transported to site in sections and simply put together in situ. The seat area is a lowered platform alongside a running edge of the planter with hardwood seat slats attached to the top with invisible fixings. The seat area brings the lowered side up to full planter height so people can sit alongside the raised garden bed the planter creates.

Artform suggested a mixture of sleek reconstituted granite and simple natural granite benches. Anastasio-Makatite benches were chosen to face out to sea and to partially form planting beds with a variety of local flowers. This helped to improve the appearance of the promenade as well as providing a wonderful vantage point for people to sit and take in the sea views. Local points of reference and historical facts were also included on floor plaques directly in front of the benches so that they could be viewed and enjoyed whilst sitting on the seats.

Haberdasher Street is the appropriately-named location for the new headquarters of Drake’s London, a firm that since the late 1970s has specialised in the design and manufacture of men’s ties. The choice of Crittall Corporate W20 windows was not a difficult one – given that the main section of the building dates from the 1930s it was a natural decision to choose steel windows as these would have been installed originally. The functions within the building include workshops where people handmake ties, requiring a lot of natural light.

This is a mixed-use development, planed by Marks Barfield Architects, creating 17 new homes. The purpose of this project is to promote the wellbeing of people, embracing circadian design principles. The building will include gardens and planting areas alongside office spaces, with a “forest floor” to the atrium spilling into the reception of the building. In this project Effisus Vapour FR Class A2 system was used to prevent the condensation risk, improving the airtightness and consequently the energy efficiency of the building, applying an A1 Vapour FR membrane.

The City of Westminster Courts is among London’s oldest.The courtrooms were on the first and second floors, each entered via a ‘sound lobby’ – a transition area between the waiting areas and the courtrooms – each to accommodate up to eight people at a time. The glass on either side of the sound lobbies had to achieve a very high acoustic performance (60dB Rw), a very high impact rating, and a fire rating of EI60. Planet also installed switchable glass in the waiting areas and anti-reflective glass in the courtrooms.

Working with Associated Architects and BAM, Planet calculated the line loads for the atrium and installed seven storeys of frameless atrium glazing. This allows natural light to flow throughout the building, while using Planet frameless single-glazing ensures maximum visibility to create a seamless, modern finish. For the meeting room and offices, Planet installed bespoke designed framed double glazing.

The venue can hold up to 1600 people, with much of the capacity arranged in levels of banked arena-style seating with stepped access. The nature of the performances at the venue mean access up and down these stairways by patrons is often in low light levels which means there is a risk of slips and falls.
