Home House is an award winning private members club, located in Portman Square, London. The Outdoor Deck Company were commissioned to install over 220sqm of new Ecodek composite decking on Buzon support pedestals to create a large decked terrace area within the club’s private garden. Home House were looking for a durable, minimal-maintenance, anti-slip deck with superior safety qualities without compromising on aesthetics for this glamorous outdoor space. On this fast turnaround project we worked closely with Apteriors; Interior Design and Furniture Specialists and McLaren Construction to manufacture and supply outdoor concrete furniture for new multipurpose recreation and study area for New Regent’s College in London. The Living Concrete team are highly experienced at working with leading designers to create bespoke furniture for beautiful spaces. That’s why Charlotte Crosland came to us to discuss the design, manufacture and installation of this stunning outdoor kitchen and entertainment space, housed in a purpose built oak building at her client’s Great Missenden home.We cast a number of items including work surfaces, kitchen cupboards with shelving and drawers, fridge enclosure, BBQ, cast in sink with copper fittings and seatWe used a unique eco concrete mix with a hydrophobic agent to limit moisture absorption and the smooth Silk Mist finish was treated and sealed with Satin Stain protection to make it damage proof. Our high-performance concrete doesn’t corrode or degrade, making it a long-lasting, practical choice that will keep its good looks. It’s fireproof too – a major advantage inside the home, but equally so in an outdoor oak-built structure such as this.

The Outdoor Deck Company are delighted to have started work at Islington Square. Located in the heart of Islington, Islington Square is set to become one of London’s newest residential neighbourhoods. The former Edwardian Mail Centre and Post Office buildings are being transformed into a selection of apartments, maisonettes and penthouses including high-end retail units and restaurants. The Outdoor Deck Company have been commissioned to supply and install premium grade Ipe timber decking for the eleven Penthouse roof-top gardens, which include `endless` swimming pools and private decked entertaining areas.

This eye catching outdoor A5000 was installed with access the care homes patio area, ensuring safe and secure accessibility for residents and staff. The patio has outdoor seating where residents are regularly served afternoon tea, and meals when the weather is fine. The glazed shaft panels allow for great views of the landscaped grounds when travelling in the lift. The staff and residents enjoy many activities outdoors, including their annual summer fair and barbeques, so a lift was essential for ensuring that everyone has easy access to the patio and gardens.

The Outdoor Deck Company were specified to supply and install 560m² of FSC Massaranduba timber decking to create a series of pathways that branch out to each entrance. Massaranduba is one of the hardest and most durable timber species in the world making it the perfect timber surface for this busy external space. Rathbone Market has been shortlisted for several awards and is winner of The Sunday Times British Homes Awards – Development of the Year (Schemes of more than 200 homes) 2017.

Helmsman’s latest project was an exciting one for the team. We were contacted by Bowmer & Kirkland who we have worked with many times in the past, to create a bespoke set of outdoor lockers for a project in Enfield.Bowmer & Kirkland are the lead contractor for The Chase Farm Development, which when complete, will be home to two new schools, One Degree Academy and Wren Academy, with a Community Hub and Sports Centre, plus 362 New Homes. With a range of outdoor space, the client had requested lockers to be installed along two external walls of the building. Whilst our Wet Spec Laminate Lockers are great for humid and wet environments such as leisure centre changing rooms, it was important that we considered the different impact that outdoor lockers would need to withstand.We designed, manufactured, and installed 158 bespoke, 4 compartment outdoor lockers at Wren Community Hub. The body was made with Stainless Steel, with doors and end panels in Solid Grade Laminate. A selection of colours were used, with Formica Laminate in Peaceful Blue, Lime and Dusty Jade for the doors, and Polar White for the end panels.The client also requested Sloping Tops for the lockers. These are a great addition to stop clutter and other objects being placed on top of the lockers, particularly helpful for lockers in public spaces as this project is. The sloping tops were made from stainless steel with Solid Grade Laminate over the top in Polar White to match the end panels.For the locks and numbering, the client chose oval laminated number plates with Lowe and Fletcher Camlocks, which make a great pairing.It was great to work on this bespoke locker project and highlights that Helmsman can help with a variety of requests and requirements for locker projects. Founded in 2002, the Gardens of Peace Muslim cemetery is located in a green belt area in Chigwell, London. Beautifully landscaped and purpose-built, the cemetery is a calm, comforting space for the local Muslim community. Earlier this year the Outdoor Deck Company were commissioned to supply and install high quality composite deck boards to create a large deck area surrounding the new cemetery building. Providing an attractive but future-proof solution, composite decking was specified for its anti-slip, mould-free and low-maintenance attributes providing a safe, less slippery surface for the year-round cemetery visitors.

The meticulous refurbishment of this Grade II Listed landmark provides a stunning range of luxuriously specified 1, 2,3 and 4 bedroom apartments. These are unique residences, restored and specified to the highest possible standards and benefit from private facilities, including a leisure suite with a pool and spa. The Outdoor Deck Company were specified to install Yellow Balau decking to create a series of stunning outdoor terrace areas that not only complement the architecture of the original building but provide a relaxing space for residents to enjoy.

One Hyde Park is a major residential and retail complex located in Knightsbridge, London. The development includes three retail units totaling 35,800 m2 and 86 residential properties with prices starting at around £20 million. The Outdoor Deck Company supplied and installed premium grade Ipe timber decking to all roofs across all four buildings. The deck boards were supported by 28,000 DPH Buzon pedestals. The project was a success and the Outdoor Deck Company were proud to be involved in installing their first-class products to one of London’s most prestigious developments.

A vibrant new community is being created at Battersea Power Station offering the best retail, office, leisure and green space plus unique homes. Working with Maylim, the Outdoor Deck Company were specified for a multitude of areas across this 39-acre site, including the supply and installation of Cedar privacy screening for all apartments on the podium level plus a large Iroko deck area alongside the retail outlets. The Outdoor Deck Company were also responsible for the supply and install of timber seating in the specially designed communal areas and Cumaru seating, planters and a bespoke pergola on Level 8.

On the fourth floor of the Royal Opera House is a decking area of around 600sqm. For the last 25 years this was a hardwood deck, but when Stanton Williams Architects were asked to oversee the redevelopment of this area a new deck was an integral part of the plan. The Outdoor Deck Company were commissioned to install the Grad Decking System supplied by Alfresco Floors. The finished deck is part of a major transformation of the Royal Opera House by Stanton Williams and has been open to the public from September 2018.

A stunning and substantial award-winning house on the North Norfolk coast. The house sits on a large wooded site in the centre of a Norfolk seaside village facing the sea. The linear design of the main part of the house is set into the rising ground, with an undercroft forming the main entrance and boat storage. Cowper Griffith Architects specified the Outdoor Deck Company to supply and install FSC Ipe timber to complete the expansive deck area and garden pathway feature. Aboretum House was awarded RIBA East Building of the Year 2014.

Stone: LUNDHS Blue® - silk surface.Situated on a small island outside the coast of southern Norway, the owners of this lovely summerhouse have moved the kitchen outside. The well planned combination of wood and Lundhs Blue stone is in total harmony with the natural surroundings.

Sitting opposite the former BBC Television Centre and adjacent to Westfield Shopping Centre, this exciting new development includes 10.4 acres of open space in the form of a new public park for White City, 1500 new homes including affordable housing and commercial premises. The Outdoor Deck Company were specified to install FSC Iroko timber tiered seating to create an external relaxation area on the Buzon pedestal system along with composite seating and stage decks across the external public areas.

One Tower Bridge is a prestigious development offering five-star living by the banks of the Thames. It offers uninterrupted views of one of the world’s most iconic landmarks, unrivalled residents’ facilities and the highest of specifications. The Outdoor Deck Company supplied and installed decking, contemporary screens, butt-joint fencing, seating, step and riser units plus pergolas (RAL colour-matched aluminium with hardwood and Cedar slats). This prestigious project was awarded the `Grand Award` and `Principle Award – Hard Landscaping Construction over £1.5m` at the BALI National Landscape Awards in December 2017.

The Outdoor Deck Company were commissioned to refurbish the external terraces of several top floor apartments located on Nile Street, London. The brand new `grad` invisible fixing clip deck system was supplied and installed by the Outdoor Deck Company, their first ever `grad` installation in the UK. The unique clip and groove design at the heart of the `grad` system means that decks can be installed about 30% faster than competing products. The `grad` system can be retrofitted onto existing timber joists, installed from scratch on top of a new timber sub-frame, or mounted onto the bespoke rail system.

Angel Gardens is one of Manchester’s newest, purpose built, residential developments and is located in the fashionable Northern Quarter of the city.Residents of the development enjoy a ‘clubby’ feel to their living environment with a number of exclusive facilities included within the high-rise building. As well as cinema and gym areas, the roof terrace on the 9th floor boasts not only a barbegue / bar / entertaining / dining area but also a football pitch. Included in the roof-top oasis is an outdoor kitchen, supplied and installed by GEC Anderson. Comprising of stainless steel base cabinets, a continuous stainless steel worktop with integral sink and back upstand, the kitchen is used for functions and generally to cater for requirements of visitors to this level of the building.

Areas around Torbay have recently been provided with outdoor sanitiser stations in the hope to encourage hand hygiene for shoppers in the high streets. Dart Valley, the southern division of Franke Water Systems UK, are specialists in hygienic solutions and adapted one of their current stainless steel hand sanitising stations to provide a bespoke solution for areas around Torbay. The technical team at were proud to be part of a local project and spent a significant amount of time designing the bespoke sanitisers to ensure all requirements were met. The finished product was a touch-free, automatic free-standing sanitiser station, manufactured from 2mm grade 316 stainless steel, which is weatherproof and an ideal solution for an outdoor product. 316 stainless steel contains an addition of molybdenum that gives it improved corrosion resistance, a key design factor for an outdoor product in a seaside town. Stainless steel is robust and vandal resistant, meaning it can withstand such heavy use and help prevent any potential damage. The robust body of the sanitiser station also features a maintenance hatch with high-security tamper-resistant screws, so that the stations can be regularly refilled. The touchless dispensers exceed the design of those seen in most supermarkets and stores, which can often be found grubby with overspilling. Such design considerations as touch-free and using easy to maintain materials should be at the forefront of any hygienic product, particularly in busy areas.

The concept aims to re -connect people with nature thanks to sensible and smart architecture, using a modular system . Our BSO, or outdoor Venetians blinds , provide optimal sunlight management and complement the large glazed surfaces thanks to their complete integration in the façade . The rustproof materials are designed for durability, safety in harsh weather and resilience through time . It also promotes efficiency, flexibility but also, comfort and well -being spaces 

2-6 Cannon Street is a high-end new build commercial office building located in the City of London. The Outdoor Deck Company were commissioned by Frosts Landscape Construction to supply and install the GRAD decking and rail systems, which were supported by the Buzon DPH pedestal system. This was a particularly challenging project as powder coated steel planters were strategically located in the middle of the roof terrace so installation had to be carried out around the numerous planters. Timber decked steps and ramps were also part of the overall terrace design.

The meticulous refurbishment of this Grade II Listed landmark provides a stunning range of luxuriously specified apartments. Phase 2 of this project included the installation of FSC certified Hardwood decks to create a series of private roof terraces adjoining the larger apartments. This project was particularly challenging due to the many curved corten steel planters, upstands, steps and seating areas but using the Buzon PB pedestal range to support the decking our installation team achieved seamless surfaces across all the terrace areas. The finished private roof terraces provide residents with the perfect outdoor space.

The Outdoor Deck Company were specified to install high grade FSC Iroko timber decking to the large roof terrace area creating a stunning relaxation space. All decking and paving was installed on the Buzon pedestal support system and the wooden decking area was fitted with anti-slip strips to create an instant non-slip surface. The curved contrast between the paving and decking creates a soft visual appearance and takes you to different areas around the gardens. The entrance steps and risers made from Iroko premium grade hardwood include non-slip strips along the front edge of the steps.

Guido House is a private project located on Majorca island, a territory influenced by sunlight and sea breeze . For that reason, architect David Domínguez Rueda selected BSO system, roller blinds, and curtains for optimal solar control .This combination of Bandalux products allows for maintaining the interior temperature throughout the year, especially thanks to the Outdoors Venetian blinds (BSO) . It’s possible to achieve up to 10 % energy savings regarding the adjustable inclination of the slats, which allows them to be adapted to all solar incidence angles . They completely close the façade to light and heat . It’s also a highly resistant system to weather conditions and is made with durable materials .Inside the house, the architect installed roller blinds to complement the control solar functionality, and curtains as a perfect aesthetic complement .

The biggest challenge of this project was the climate conditions of the location, because of high temperatures and sunlight needs. Also, the purpose of building a Passivhaus home determines its architecture and design : minimalist and sober with a rectangular structure to make the most of isolation elements .The architects combined two of our systems: BSO on the façade and Premium Plus inside. Outdoor Venetian blinds afford highly effective protection from heat and precision sunlight management, contributing to energy savings.Premium Plus roller blinds are completely integrated into the design, being installed in curtain rods and going unnoticed when closing them. They have been configurated with Polyscreen ® 550 - White Pearl color, a fabric with excellent thermal protection, managing up to 94 % of solar heat . Gtote=0,06 – Gtoti = 0.24).

The first platform lifts is placed adjacent to the pool deck, linking the underground levels to the outdoors. A customised glass and steel structure protects the lift from weather exposure, whilst maximising on the stunning sea views. The A5000 was a great choice to provide accessibility, luxury and ease of installation at this seaside residence.

SubFloor Outdoor Flooring was used to help renovate and raise a 650 m² roof into an outdoor terrace in Västerås, Sweden.This was built on top of the existing roof felt and used high-quality pressure impregnated wooden joists to create an even surface, level with the rest of the building.
