With a project value of approximately £16m, this project required a highly sensitive design solution to address a complicated urban context involving 28 neighbouring residential and commercial properties. The transformation visioned by PKS Architects, and developed by main contractor Knight Harwood, involved converting some of the buildings into high-quality apartments and high-specification offices using Kawneer’s solutions. The task was immense and involved six neighbouring commercial properties. The goal was achieved using multiple high-performance Kawneer products.

As the centrepiece to British Land’s regeneration of Regents Place, 10 Brock Street is a distinctive 16 storey, 320,000 sq ft landmark office development in the heart of London. Completed in 2013, the building achieved the coveted BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating thanks to a number of features, including rainwater harvesting system and combined heat and power systems. The global transport and logistics company DSV have completed a brand new 522,000 sq ft industrial facility and offices. The state-of-the-art logistics hub is located at the 238-acre Mercia Park in Leicestershire.InterLace designed, manufactured and installed a full turn-key external shading system to reduce solar gain, with high specification electric venetian blinds and specialist Schueco curtain walling roller shade blinds operated by a central weather-responsive control system.

This global cybersecurity company's large desk-based workforce required comfortable, hard-wearing floor coverings to zone and manage the acoustics for their new office space.The design team specified Compound Magic (carpet) and Earth Science (LVT) from Milliken's Change Agent collection alongside Major Frequency's Distortion design in netural taupes and rich browns to stunning effect. Angled Walk from the Clerkenwell collection contrasts to identify the various meeting spaces in this dynamic workspace.

Column casings standing almost 6 metres high are being used at the Porsche Centre in Preston, Lancashire, to conceal interior structural steelwork and utilities within the two-storey main showroom and office area.Manufactured from 3mm thick aluminium with a grey RAL 9007 PPC finish, the twelve 375mm diameter column casings, from the Pendock MET-CL range, incorporate colour matched joint covers, header and skirting collars infills, to integrate with Porsche’s corporate colour scheme.

Fitzroy Place is located right in the heart of London – in the district of Fitzrovia, just a few minutes from Oxford Street, Regent Street and Regent’s Park. Fitzroy Place is a unique collection of new buildings, comprising apartments, shops, restaurants, cafés and office space, all organised around a green square. Flowcrete UK has supplied a floor finish for the publicly accessible campus vision to transform the dated 60’s office building into a vibrant new space for students and art lovers alike. The project specified 300m2 of the seamless, self-smoothing glossy resin system, Peran SL, as it met both the aesthetic and functional criteria. The hard wearing system will maintain a high performance finish for an extended period of time despite the heavy foot traffic, scuffs, and general wear and tear that it will inevitably face.

Kingsmead Business Park in High Wycombe provides an ideal environment for today’s businesses, with some 150,000ft2 of flexible office space and excellent transport links. This purpose built business park, designed around a central courtyard, was due for a refurbishment, involving significant investment in its amenity offer and environment, incorporating the construction of a new café, entrance, lighting and associated hard landscaping. The owners were seeking to improve facilities for tenants and visitors and create a focal point in the heart of the complex.

Oscar Iso-Mounts combine space saving with isolating acoustic technology to provide clients with the best possible ceiling acoustics and soundproofing, perfect for house/flat/apartment conversions, new builds and renovations. Commercial applications include hotels, offices, shops and restaurants. The mount fixes under existing concrete and timber joist ceilings with just one fixing saving time and money. Extensions are available for 50mm to over 1 metre voids for acoustic services and thermal insulation.

The Coopers FireMaster, closed and open Concertina fire curtain is a perfect solution when requiring fire compartmentation around a staircase as it offers a virtual firewall creating a lobby, once the curtain has been deployed, with more than 3 hours integrity. A total of five FireMaster Concertinas were installed between floors 11 and 15 in this large office space. These curtains allow for the open plan flow of the building to remain as intended and prevent the spread of fire through the building whilst providing compartmentation.

Known as being positioned within one of the most popular positions within London, The River Building sits comfortably between London Bridge, St Paul’s, and Bank. The position offers enviable commutes for the city workforce, boasting a five minutes’ walk from six key tube stations. Renovated to utilise a once void entrance, The River Building is now a self-contained office space with a contemporary industrial design. The large atrium features a set of sleek black Lifeline Speedlane Swings.

For PCA Predict in Worcester, the need to choose new flooring came earlier than expected. Contemporary, sleek, practical and durable were the keywords for this flooring project. After a false start with the cork floor, Office Manager Philippa Jaine was keen to achieve a contemporary look, but one that would also be able to cope with the footfall and, most importantly, would cause minimum disruption to the staff during installation. Combining the main entrance and breakout area, the total flooring space measured 95m2.

When leading beauty product franchise, MADI International, moved into its new international head office, Amtico Spacia Acoustic was chosen to add a warm and stylish feel to the building’s interior. In order to reflect the company’s ethos, the premises required flooring which was well designed, easy to clean and benefited from good acoustics. The latter was particularly important as, being a beauty business, MADI International experiences high footfall – including lots of high heeled and designer shoes.

Belonging to the hospital and the University of Medicine of Rotterdam, the Erasmus medical centre is an internationally recognized centre of excellence. As a learning centre, the building of 16 000 sqm contains a central lobby, conference rooms, learning rooms and offices, on 3 stairs. It welcomes more than 400 working or learning desks. Thank to the spectacular ceiling, the central lobby is very bright and spacious. 4500 m² of acoustic stretched ceiling has been installed to improve the sound comfort. Architect : Claus en Kaan

They wanted to further enhance the wellbeing of their employees, whilst focusing on the growing importance of improving their sustainability and efficiency. They went ahead with two Billi Quadra Sparkling 460 systems with XL dispensers in Chrome, providing boiling, chilled and sparkling filtered water. The Chrome taps perfectly fit in with the design of the stylish kitchen areas and the benefits of our Quadra systems allow LondonMetric to save invaluable space, energy and time.

The roof area was badly damaged by heavy storms, with all existing ballasted solar panels lifting off the single ply roof and destroyed beyond repair. The client needed the remedial work completed to fixed deadlines in order to comply with insurance requirements, and wanted to optimise the roof by replacing the pre-existing photovoltaic (PV) array with a solar solution that would deliver superior energy generation. The office also had to remain operational throughout the works, creating logistical challenges

Ash & Lacy supplied curved, expanded mesh Screen panels for a fantastic new office development to house some of the UK’s National Sports Governing Bodies, in Loughborough. Owned by Loughborough University and located on a gateway site to the University campus, SportPark plays host to various sporting organisations in 3 pavilions, over 4 storeys. The project was designed by David Morley Architects and the external envelope materials strike a balance between life span, low maintenance requirements and aesthetics.

F. Ball smoothing underlayment and adhesives have played starring roles in the installation of floorcoverings as part of the major refurbishment and extension of one of Scotland’s busiest theatres, Eden Court at Inverness. Flooring contractor Jack Carmichael (Flooring) Ltd of Elgin, were responsible for the installation of floorcoverings throughout the project. This involved a basement cinema, the main 850 seat auditorium, a second 250 seat theatre, a bar and restaurant, box office, foyer bar and dance studio and associated dressing rooms and toilets...

Hudson Yards is the largest private real estate development in the history of the U.S.. Hudson Yards will dramatically transform a vast desolate space into New York’s next great neighborhood. It will include more than 18 million square feet of commercial and residential space, state-of-the-art office towers, more than 100 shops, and a collection of restaurants. Effisus Ecofacade P-Fix, a solution with clip-in gaskets for waterproofing facade connections, is being applied on site, improving the buildings’ envelope efficiency and sustainability.

The Sways project, consists on the rehabilitation and two storey upward extension of a building dating from the 90’s, transforming that place into an magnificent office building. The scheme provides for architectural enhancement of the real estate complex, involving modification of vertical circulations (cores), reconfiguration of the interior patios and modification of the existing facade. Effisus Ecofacade Pre-Fab Frames were developed specifically for this project, allowing time savings and reduced largely the possibility of installation errors, maximizing the efficiency of sealing work.

Is an upcoming development by Damac Properties, that will be located in the heart of Business Bay, Dubai. The development will be home to an impressive mix of residential units, hotel rooms, and office space. Fire safety was a priority on this project. It was used the Effisus Vapour FR System, that works as a vapour control layer, protecting the building from condensation risk and improving the airtightness and consequently the energy efficiency, and the Effisus Bonding KF+P, an innovative bonding solvent free, with exceptional properties of adhesiveness, waterproofing and UV resistance.

This is a mixed-use development, planed by Marks Barfield Architects, creating 17 new homes. The purpose of this project is to promote the wellbeing of people, embracing circadian design principles. The building will include gardens and planting areas alongside office spaces, with a “forest floor” to the atrium spilling into the reception of the building. In this project Effisus Vapour FR Class A2 system was used to prevent the condensation risk, improving the airtightness and consequently the energy efficiency of the building, applying an A1 Vapour FR membrane.

Built on a 5.3-acre plot of land, Barnwood Distribution Centre sits alongside the A417 in Gloucester. Originally commissioned by client Amazon, the project was managed by Bowmer and Kirkland and delivered a 118,000sqm distribution centre that will now be sub-let to another company. The development includes a multi-storey van storage deck, offices and HGV and car parking spaces. We were pleased to supply polyester powder coated (PPC) Anvil metal cladding fins to the multi-storey car park.

When it came to designing Tarkett’s new UK HQ in Ashford, sustainability and wellbeing had to be at the heart of the concept. With a fierce dedication to creating environmentally-friendly products that promote healthy spaces, the decor provided the perfect opportunity for Tarkett to showcase its impressive credentials. London-based fit-out specialist Peldon Rose was brought in to assist. After consulting with the Tarkett team, Peldon Rose sought to create an inclusive office environment, catering for a wide range of different tasks and preferred working styles.

We’ve given a Victorian office building a modern makeover by replacing the existing washrooms with a modern new design. Our flush fronted Alto toilet cubicles, which are designed to provide a virtually seamless façade, were finished with an attractive dark wood effect Engineered Veneer to ensure a consistency of colour for each cubicle door. Laminated duct panels were installed behind the toilets and urinals in a soft grey colour and we also designed bespoke white Corian vanity units.

Pembury Circus in Hackney is a vibrant new residential development consisting of 268 units, re-establishing lost pedestrian routes through the estate and making a positive contribution to the townscape. The project was nominated for the 2019 Schüco Excellence Awards in the ‘Residential Development’ category. Pembury Circus now provides a setting for a successful mixed community of all ages – offering dedicated homes for older people, a nursery, a large community centre with neighbourhood management offices, shops, a new public open space and play area.

Bloomberg’s European Headquarters opened with excitement in October 2017. The marquee building in the heart of London provides new office space for Bloomberg’s 4000 London based employees. We installed over 37,000m2 of Kingspan raised access flooring and 34,000m2 of Kingspan Attiro real wood engineered floor. The combined systems allow quick and easy access to the steel encapsulated floor panels and the underfloor void whilst delivering 98.5% score against the BREEAM sustainability assessment method.

The Rowe is a new architecturally designed office space in Whitechapel London, where tradition meets innovation. With outside space on every level, the building sets a sustainable benchmark for new office space in central London. The new elements mimics the horizontal banding of the 1960s concrete building as well as contrasting with a steel structure and dark metal palette.The architects, Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, had used KEIM previously. They contacted KEIM as they wanted a sustainable product in keeping with their core values. Samples were carried out, as shown in the photo below, to determine the most suitable colour.First off, KEIM Concrete Repair Mortar (KEIM Concretal-MR 2.0) was used for large repairs within the concrete. KEIM Fine Finishing Mortar (KEIM Concretal-FSP 0.2) was then used for levelling repairs as it is a much finer aggregate mix.KEIM Soldalit CL018, a light grey colour, was chosen to compliment the steel structure and due to its characteristics, was applied onto the previously painted surface without the need for a primer. It is fire resistant – A2-s1, d0 classified and Cradle to Cradle certified.The Rowe has been shortlisted for an AJ Retrofit Award 2023 in the Workspace (£10m and over) category. It was also awarded BREEAM ‘Excellent’, WELL ‘Platinum’ and received SmartScore certification.

The design brief Our brief from Heatherwick Studios was to design, supply & install a free spanning self-supporting 3D triangular rooflight, to replace a more traditional rooflight that was supported by secondary steel.The ChallengeA rooflight of this type would normally be fully fabricated and welded as a single frame off-site. The challenge was in the installation of the rooflight as stick construction to align the connection correctly so the glass lines would be true against the framework and the engagement correct. There was only a +/-2mm tolerance.The SolutionThe rooflight is 9m x 4m and is fully self-supporting, modelled with in our SOLIDWORKS 3D design software. New corporate headquarters for a growing independent distiller called for the perfect blend of outdoor infrastructure to reflect its strong local identity.Ian Macleod Distillers (IMD) embarked on the new HQ project after outgrowing its nearby Russell House head office.The £4.5 million development features two prominent glass towers representing the traditional ventilation shafts of Scottish whisky distilleries.And when it came to the design and creation of the building's outdoor spaces, Broxap's Litchard range provided a similar timeless yet unique aesthetic for the site.Working for Clark Contracts, Broxap designed, manufactured and installed a suite of furniture including two Litchard Picnic Units and 16 Litchard Benches.Our teams collaborated with the project leaders to create 8 Litchard Seats, as well as tables and short benches, to specific dimensions to enable unique group seating configurations.A Palisade Brise Soleil adds another dimension to the breakout space. Door barriers, complete with tapping bars to meet Scotland’s disability access standards, completed the project.The main building delivers 10,000 sq ft of office space for IMD and is the commercial hub for the independent family firm which owns brands including Edinburgh Gin, Glengoyne, Tamdhu and Smokehead.

THE PROJECTThe Torre Koi in Mexico is the second tallest building in Mexico standing at a huge 917 ft. The tower is in San Pedro Garza Garcia, part of the Monterrey Metropolitan area. The building acts as the centrepiece of four buildings. When the project finished it was the tallest building in Mexico, but the Torres Obispado surpassed the Koi in 2020.VFO Architectos, based in Mexico City, designed, and oversaw the architecture for The Torre Koi. With a mixture of office and residential the skyscraper features 63 floors, 218 apartments, 18 penthouses and 26 floors of commercial office space.THE SOLUTIONThe Safety Letterbox Company was approached by ‘Interni Design Studio’, the interior designers, in charge of the materials for the social areas in the tower. Their requirements were for mailboxes for the residents, with the added requirements of security, efficiency and to be aesthetically pleasing.Quantity requirements and available dimensions were provided to The Safety Letterbox Company, along with design ideas to enable an appropriate product to be specified. The product matched the brief and ticked all the boxes Interni needed on both the practical and creative side of the project.The tower features multiple banks of MODA H 300 mailboxes, fitted to a jet-black support table so they sit freestanding within the mailroom. With a stainless-steel front and a jet-black body these stylish, sophisticated mailboxes really deliver in this incredible skyscraper!
