IKO were chosen to survey the Academy roofs and recommend a proposal for renewing the aged and weathered membrane this included many non compliant and fragile roof lights. Solution. After a thorough roof survey including core sampling a new roofing system was designed to incorporate a tapered Insulation to remove the excess rainwater and also improve the thermal efficiency of the classrooms, A bespoke solution was provided to over sail the trouble-some low level Finlock integral gutters. During the installation both adverse falls & hidden internal outlets were found resulting in the taper Insulation for one roof being completely redesigned.

Ultrascape's BS 7533 compliant mortar paving system has been used to deliver a modern and stylish forecourt outside Swindon railway station. The redevelopment has transformed what was previously a heavy traffic dominated area, into a prestigious pedestrian focused arrival space which features seating, planting, lighting and a millennium clock. Work was carried out by specialist civil engineering contractor, Britannia Construction and included the installation of 500 tonnes of high quality natural granite and Pennant Sandstone using Ultrascape's Pro-Bed HS fine bedding concrete, Flowpoint rapid setting grout and Pro-Prime slurry primer.

Rackine after successfully tendering, designed, manufactured and installed a truly bespoke storage solution. The design incorporated nearly 7000 drawers in six different sizes to house everything from dress fabrics to religious robes, handbags to walking sticks, and embroidery to underwear, hanging garment storage, locations for 1280 large rolled textiles up to 6 metres long and twice as many small rolled objects. The solution required a light weight system to be designed which still needed to have the capability to be almost 4 metres tall, up to 1.6 metres deep and accommodate drawers up to 2 metres wide.

Separating the catering facility from meeting areas in a key office building, the glass operable walls deliver an impressive 52dB Rw acoustic integrity, providing outstanding privacy for meetings and gatherings whilst maximising the use of natural light. Addressing the ongoing need for social distancing, moveable wall systems can be effectively utilised to create discrete employee ‘bubbles’ by dividing office space into smaller areas.

The £9.5 million state-of-the-art Belong Warrington care village, designed by Pozzoni Architecture Ltd, is a community facility, including village centre amenities, households for residents who require 24 hour dementia and nursing care, and independent living apartments.

A new flagship high quality office development in Aberdeen city centre will have state-of-the-art management systems installed in all its washrooms to help control energy and water use. Annan House forms part of a £100m redevelopment project called The Grande delivered by Drum Property Group on a former derelict site. The eight-storey offices will have 36 Sensazone washroom systems installed to help lower water and energy consumption. Sensazone is a low-cost system which uses infrared sensors to control energy output, water supply, lighting and ventilation, providing complete management control over individual commercial washrooms.

Classic’s PBC102 black anodised aluminium stair nosing for broadloom carpeted steps complete with light grey colour insert were supplied and installed across the George St. premises. Classic also installed individual stainless steel tactile indicators across all access points, making them safe and accessible to all segments of the population.

Behind the façade of the iconic Grade II Listed Old Chelsea Town Hall, sits Chelsea Sports Centre. As part of a refurbishment of the showers and changing room areas, Washroom installed its flush front glass iLockers, back-painted in dark grey, together with Forte changing cubicles, manufactured from grey solid grade laminate (SGL), complete with unique Perspex integral roof to let in light while providing complete privacy for users and matching Forte toilet and shower cubicles. Washroom also manufactured bespoke ‘Black Quartz’ Corian vanity units and make-up shelves and installed its Legato benching to complete the design.

Washroom designed and installed washrooms and backstage dressing rooms for an iconic Grade II listed West End theatre, using brass effect laminate and marble-effect Corian to create the sumptuous design which mirrors the theatre’s stunning Art Deco style auditorium. The full height Alto toilet cubicles installed were finished with a unique high-sheen brass effect laminate and as a contrast, the Concerto integrated duct panel system was manufactured using black laminate. Completing the washrooms are the Corian solid surface vanities specified in a light grey marble with individual square counter-top ceramic sinks, red splashbacks and brass taps.

Washroom created a unique washroom space using a mix of marble, brass and oak for this Grade II Listed refurbished office building. The brass effect accessories including wall-mounted taps, coat hooks, handles and cubicle locks, were paired with marble vanity splashbacks and oak veneer toilet cubicles. The bespoke Corian vanities were manufactured with rounded edge counter-top sinks and inset waste bins. Washroom's above sink Tego hinged mirror system, which includes concealed storage for soap and paper towel dispensers, also feature curved edges to reflect the sink shape and are backlit to provide soft lighting.

SOLUTION Many bespoke features including: ‘Row zero’ chairs featuring two stabilising wheels, allowing sections of seats to easily be removed. American Black Walnut veneered fascia boards to allow the closed seating to seamlessly blend with the room’s panelled walls. Custom engineered solution for the orchestra pit which features removable seating frames that can be used elsewhere in the studio. Added functionality of electronic partial opening to provide flexible arrangements. High specification Gallery Extra chairs, aisle lights and integral side rails to give a true theatre feel.

Perry Hall Academy, a large primary school built in 1949, with original waterproofing still in-situ. IKO assisted the Academy funding bid by providing a detailed survey report, including intrusive core sample analysis. The roofs were suffering from water ingress, cracks in the mastic asphalt, pooled water and poor heat retention, so decision was made to replace the roofs throughout. New rooflights were also specified to allow more natural light in while the design chosen reduced the external noise transmission. IKO worked with specifier Concept Education Services to deliver the project (some work during term-time) within 6 months.

Covering an area of nearly two acres (7,600 m2), the Holt Farm dairy complex includes two large and three smaller cattle buildings used for milking, housing, feed storage, offices, and viewing gallery. The complex typically houses 240 dairy cattle, yielding an average of 7,500 litres per year that is supplied to a nearby dairy processing facility. Holt Farm’s dairy complex is L-shaped with five interconnecting ridge-roofed buildings that create four internal valley gutters. The original fibre cement roof with badly yellowing old-style roof lights had deteriorated and suffered storm damage; the owners decided that a cost-effective new roof was required.

A 250 year old granary has gone through a transformation and is now a thriving hub bringing the local community together. During recent fabric upgrades to the building, energy efficiency needed to be addressed to help reduce on-going running costs of this village hall. 6 lancet windows were treated with Selectaglaze 4-12-4mm, low-E, enhanced thermal performance sealed unit secondary glazing, achieving U-values of around 1.67. The tall lancet windows posed a challenge due to their height; 3350mm. Each of these openings were built up with a Series 41 side hung casement set between two Series 40 fixed light units.

The new United States Courthouse in LA is a 633,000-sq ft facility. All-glass glazing systems were utilized, including over 762 metres of TAPER-LOC® from CRL. Developed for use with laminated toughened glass, the TAPER-LOC® System delivers all-glass visuals that improve light diffusion, creating open and vibrant spaces. Contractors faced strict construction schedules due to its central location in Downtown LA. The TAPER-LOC® System can reduce installation time by more than 50% compared to wet-glaze systems. A torque tool simplifies glass adjustment, expediting the installation process in order to meet tight schedules.

The hotel combines contemporary style and heritage-rich designs to reflect its Welsh location. Hamilton Litestat’s stylish Hartland collection of box-fit decorative wiring accessories, finished in either Matt Black or Antique Brass, were selected for the 122-guestroom hotel – complementing the Welsh design themes and delivering a high-quality look. A combination of Hartland 1, 2 and 3-gang rocker switches were specified for controlling lighting, plus a European SHUKO and dual USB double switched sockets were fitted in a bespoke plate within every room.
