This is part of a Network Rail replacement project worth £5.3million, the bridge is set to provide better journeys for passengers and improve station access. The structure features a lift on each platform to provide the step-free access for disabled users. The footbridge with runs over two platforms, upgrading CCTV and lighting simultaneously.

We were delighted to be awarded the tender to complete playground upgrades for Cowbridge and Llanblethian Town Council, in Wales. We installed a new multipaly with a slide, fireman’s pole and a variety of climbing, two new springers, and a basket swing and standard swing. Associated surfacing works, including ground works and new wet pour rubber, were completed at the same time. The council were delighted with the works, giving the park a much needed face lift.

SAS International bespoke metalwork comprising of a striking waveform shaped ceiling was designed by architects Arup Associates to feature in the construction of Ropemaker Place, London EC2 for British Land.
Specialist bespoke wave ceilings were installed in the atrium, main reception area, lift lobbies and main external canopy. The waveform panel, although elegant in appearance, had to have the required strength to support the light fitting.
Place, is a state of the art commercial development with impressive sustainability credentials.

Coopers Fire installed a large, multi-faceted FireMaster Concertina Closed fire curtain on floor 12.
The client utilising floors 12 and 13 wanted to keep an open plan feel between floors to allow a more free flowing environment for the staff. To achieve this, a bespoke staircase was designed connecting the floors.
The spiral staircase was a major feature on floor 12 and meant that staff were able to move freely between floors 12 and 13 without using the lifts.

The roof area was badly damaged by heavy storms, with all existing
ballasted solar panels lifting off the single ply roof and destroyed beyond
repair. The client needed the remedial work completed to fixed deadlines
in order to comply with insurance requirements, and wanted to optimise
the roof by replacing the pre-existing photovoltaic (PV) array with a solar
solution that would deliver superior energy generation. The office also had
to remain operational throughout the works, creating logistical challenges

Brandsafe
Summit Park in Mansfield is the site of a major logistics warehouse development for Amazon. Brandsafe was tasked with making the 500,000+ sq. ft. development safe for its new owner. Outside the building, Brandsafe supplied and installed and array of Armco safety barriers, bollards, pedestrian handrail, speed bumps and wheel stops. To complete the package, further bollards were installed inside the building, along with lift door protection, guardrail and handrail routes for pedestrians and secure cages to protect crucial infrastructure and assets.

12 of Howe Green’s 7500 Series floor access covers have been fitted internally and externally at the domestic section of Ebbsfleet International Station.
A robust access solution was required to provide easy and safe access to vital internal underfloor services in the station building. The access covers were tailor made to the sizes required.
Set into the substrate, the access covers sit flush with the flooring and do not present a trip hazard. They can be easily removed with the use of lifting keys or a Howe Green Cover Skate.

A Noracon Travelling Gantry was installed to the full width and length of the North Ticket Hall suspended from aluminium monorails concealed within the ceiling.
The Gantry was designed to travel parallel to the escalators beneath utilising a rope driven trolley which removed the requirement for any electrical connections.
To enable the platform to travel the full length. part of the gantry was designed to become detached from the main section, allowing it to be “jettisoned” at the point where the new lift obstructs travel. The two sections become independent allowing the gantry to travel the remaining distance.

Oaks Park Secondary School, invited Lazylawn East London to tender for around 1000m2 of artificial grass to be installed in the school recreational areas. Due to past experience with artificial lawn installations at the school, with the perimeter of the artificial grass lifting and secured with nails, the school was seeking a more secure and safer perimeter finish for this project. Lazylawn East London proposed VertEdge and the contract was won by Lazylawn last London. VertEdge was used throughout the installation providing a completely safe and secure perimeter finish without the use of mechanical fixings.

A good example of the before and after effects of laying a sedum roof garden and accompanying deck and paved area onto a small domestic roof terrace.
All these products are designed to sit on top of the waterproof membrane (in this case single ply) there was no issue of damage to the roof.
The support pads lifted the decking off the roof, eliminating the risk of the timber piercing the membrane, and drainage was maintained through the roof surface since the green roof system has a cavity beneath its own reservoir and drainage layer to allow water run-off.

This project involved a penthouse with a huge roof terrace. The existing deck was dilapidated and needed complete replacement.
The existing decking needed to be lifted, cut up and removed. The terrace was jet-washed and sealed.
Using ipe tiles on top of adjustable pedestals keeps the tiles out of standing water and creates space underneath for cables, etc.
Rooftop terraces are difficult to access. 500x500mm timber tiles are much easier to manually handle and transport than long plank decking. The tiles aren’t fixed to the pedestals, making them future-proofed.

The toughened glass was installed in fire-resistant steel screens and door frames around the lobby.

Bettys & Taylors of Harrogate is a fourth generation independent family business, passionate about some of the finer things in life – beautiful tea rooms, handmade cakes, traditional breads, proper tea and top quality coffee. They are the business behind Yorkshire Tea, Taylors of Harrogate coffee and the famous Bettys Café Tea Rooms.Project/doors: 5 Speedor Super, 1 Speedor Mini, 12 Fire Shutter, 21 Pedestrian doors, 1 Electric roller shutter, 1 Insulated Roller ShutterThe challenge Due to the size and weight of the insulated roller shutter at 10.5m wide and 6.3m high, this was a difficult installation in an area where the headroom was very tight. A crane was required to lift the shutter into position after opening two holes in the building’s roof so lifting chains could be dropped through to facilitate moving the shutter into position. The solutionHart was contracted by Sir Robert McAlpine to supply and install a range of industrial doors at the Taylors of Harrogate site. This included the installation of the three-tonne insulated roller shutter completing a work package of over 40 doors. The success The installation of the shutter concluded a project which Hart was involved with through Sir Robert McAlpine and which saw almost every Hart door product installed – from Speedor high speed doors to fire shutters, security shutters and steel personnel doors.

Acoustic consideration was critical for the design of a new generation cycle studio in London. An isolated sound box was constructed to form the studio with stud walls built to separate it from the café – using a lift shaft model allowing for air and acoustic separation.To complement the paired back industrial ‘Scandi’ design and monochrome pallet, HERADESIGN® in black was specified throughout. Joe Stuart of Warehome Architects said, “Heradesign was perfect for this project. It provides excellent acoustic properties and we love its natural, raw wood wool texture. Specified in black it is really striking.”
Salcombe residence stands up to coastal conditions featuring Reynaers aluminium door and window systems

The goal for this residential dwelling in Salcombe was to create a completely unique space, nestled into the cliff-side to provide a feeling of comfort and seclusion, while maximising the views over the estuary. To achieve this, ten Reynaers aluminium lift-and-slide doors, alongside aluminium windows and single-entrance doors were installed. The aluminium frames provide the strength and stability required for large expanses of glazing, while delivering required pascal ratings to resolutely stand up to enduring winds and harsh coastal conditions. Pre-anodized paint adds further durability to protect the property from the elements.
Stabilisation - Abweb and Abgrid, Quarry Bank Mill, Styal, Cheshire, UK

Quarry Bank is an old cotton mill in Cheshire, now operated by the National Trust it attracts large numbers of visitors daily.
A permeable run off was required to allow the car park to be used without issue all year around as there had been problems with saturation previously.
A solution was required without having to replace the first lift of soil that was already down.
To stabilise the soft spots, Abweb back filled with the existing cappings meant further excavation was not required. Abgrid and Trigrid enabled the target CBR to be met with 30% less sub base needed.

Mace Group purchased the units directly and free-issued them to the steel frame contractor, VBH JV (a joint venture ofHollandia and Victor Buyck). Some of the units were 7m x 1.5m wide which Ambar Kelly designed to incorporate horizontal fire protection and drylined fire walls as part of the RiserSafe® system. This allowed for a group of shafts, or openings, to be combined into one unit, which reduced the number of trimmer steels and concrete beams required for walls, thereby reducing crane lifts and construction time. Ambitious green initiatives for a large-scale office fit-out

1 metre high Megapads for jacuzzi project

The contractor was installing a jacuzzi for a client.
The jacuzzi’s filter requires regular cleaning which means lifting a slab to gain access to the area. The best solution for the slabs around the jacuzzi was to elevate them without fixings over the very high void.
915-1020mm Megapads were chosen.
Megapads were positioned around the perimeter. Slabs were then laid on top, covering the area whilst allowing access to the filter and giving ventilation to the mechanics.
With a weight tolerance of 1,560Kg and temperature resistant to Minus 40°C, Megapads were the perfect solution.
Instant Green Roof - Wimbledon - Care Home - M-Tray®

The client contacted us in urgent need of a green roof solution before a project handover. Green roof was part of the planning application.
Pre-grown panels with patented design were delivered on pallets and lifted to the roof via forklift.
The ingenious connecting system means each module clicks to its neighbour tightly and securely so once installed, the sedum has a seamless appearance.
The plants are a mixture of sedum species ideal for the UK climate. They are well rooted into Wallbarn's bespoke substrate and fully mature.
250 sqm of green roof was installed in 1 day.
University of Surrey

Howe Green’s Visedge Series Flexible Floor Access Covers were specified for a refurbishment project in the refectory at the University of Surrey by main contractor, Roberts Building Services Ltd and installed by Progressive Floor Surfaces
.
The Visedge covers replaced frames which were so heavy and cumbersome that they had previously taken four people to remove whenever maintenance of the services concealed beneath the flooring was required. The new covers offer a tough, lightweight, non-rusting access solution. In the event of any maintenance to underfloor services, the covers can be removed safely and easily with the lifting keys
White Hart Lane

Officially opened in 1872, White Hart Lane cemented itself as the home of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
As part of the Northumberland Development Project to redevelop the White Hart Lane Stadium and regenerate the area, the station was also selected to be upgraded.
The upgrade consisted of a new ticketing hall, adding two lifts for better access and an additional entrance to ease match day traffic.
INTRAsystems worked with the client in supplying the Entrance Matting for White Hart Lane.
INTRAform FR was installed as it uses the specialist FR (Fire Resistant) insert which also can withstand multi-directional traffic.
Forza fire doors and screens suited with Forza veneer panels at Royalty House, Watford

Specialist commercial refurbishment company Saracen Interiors delivers four floors of stunning Grade A office accommodation in the heart of Watford’s Met Quarter. Early discussion with Forza regarding project floor plans and elevations enabled the Forza team to prepare veneer layons that fully utilised the potential of the species distinctive decorative features and then create panel layout drawings in order that product delivered to site was clearly sequentially numbered for installation.
Incorporated in the project joinery component package for Forza were items such as skirting and lift surrounds in addition to mirror frames and IPS panels for “Boutique” style washrooms.

The Royal & Derngate Theatre is a mult-purpose space which can be configured for a variety of performances. Harlequin’s stage refurbishment project was the first restoration undertaken since 2005 when the theatre was first re-developed.A comprehensive multi-layered Harlequin Stage System. Harlequin fitted new battens to strengthen the stage over which a further double-layer of wood ply was installed. The stage surface was finished with a black Harlequin Standfast vinyl performance floor. The complete refurbishment project covered the entire stage area incorporating wings, lifts, orchestra pit and retractable removable seating.
Lightweight Acoustic Beam Ceiling in Commercial Office Upgrade

Our lightweight MaxiBeam System in a warm oak finish adorns the ceiling in a newly renovated 76,000 sq ft, multi tenanted commercial office building in Bristol. The design brief was to create a modern and welcoming reception space as well as an upgrade to lift core areas with the purposes of attracting new tenants to this centrally located office building. The ceiling design featured 40mm x 150mm MaxiBeams finished in a Warm Oak Supalami, FR Class 0, also incorporating a 12mm Black Acoustic Backing Board to provide further acoustic benefits. Associated Architects chose SAS International to provide the high acoustic and finishing touches to the UoB academic interior fit-out. Anodised gold cladding and bulkheads were selected to encase the atrium lift-shafts, the main staircase and highlighting the university crest on the 4th floor.
Three additional acoustic treatments for open soffit areas were specified over computer clusters and lounge spaces. SAS500 baffles and bespoke ring shaped and circular rafts were designed and manufactured by SAS to fulfil this requirement.
The architects have effectively linked elements of the build to the next tying the theme of regency with modern amenities.

Joining Westpac in the International Towers, Swiss RE occupies Level 36 of Tower Two.
After successful collaboration on the LendLease office fit-out in Tower Three, SAS International worked again with architects Hassell Studio Sydney.
After providing drawing support, SAS330 was specified with a special 250mm knife-edge perimeter profile for homogeneous integration with the base build.
SAS200 with central recessed lighting, and linear SAS740, has been installed in the lift lobbies, circulation areas and meeting rooms.
The building was awarded a 6 Star Green Star rating, the highest rating attainable.

A hugely popular handrail design that ASF have supplied to projects in many locations. The full sized bollards that are used as post uprights give a sense of solidity and permanence, whilst the mitred top gives them just enough of a decorative nature to lift the product beyond a simple post and handrail job. In this project all welds and interfaces were polished back on site so the finished product becomes a complete unit with no visible fixings. With both double and single handrails over multiple flights and angles, this project shows how ASF can manage any project need.
