The Royal Photographic Society

Following a complete fit out, the Royal Photographic Society head office has recently opened in Bristol’s creative quarter, The Paintworks. Providing a multifunctional space for a multitude of audiences and uses, the RPS building has a large reception area, bespoke exhibition space, a library of photography archives, a custom-built auditorium, conferencing space and staff offices. The open, flexible and modern RPS headquarters capture simplicity and creativity reflecting the cultural shift of the charity. With the functionality and modern design in mind, the building has been equipped with refined, architectural lighting by Hacel, offering outstanding performance and contemporary design.

Kingsdale School


Kingsdale School -Southwark - has been working with Helmsman to create a locker system that has provided the answer to a long-standing security headache. The school decided to implement a system to manage the activities of its 1300 pupils. The system - a pupil management system - issues a new pupil with a key fob. Each fob is programmed into a database and allows the pupil to access chosen rooms at chosen times, purchase food or obtain free meals, use the library and access lockers. Diana Simpson Deputy Head said -“Helmsman has accurately translated our vision into reality, a rare achievement!".

Neaco specified for £14 million school development


The maintenance-free finish of Neaco’s powder coated aluminium balustrade has made it a long-standing favourite in the education sector, with countless specifications throughout the UK, and the latest example is a £14 million development at Elthorne Park High School in Ealing. Designed by Re-format and built by Balfour Beatty on behalf of Ealing Borough Council, the building includes a new multi-purpose performance and activity space, extended library facilities, additional Sixth Form teaching and study space. The balustrade features a metallic finish to handrails and stanchions complemented by glass panel infills for a contemporary appearance.

Husky 100 Sliding Door Hardware used for Display Unit by Ralpine Design

The project was to create a partitioned living space with the requirements of ample storage, traditional style, integrated LED lighting and a sliding door mechanism. After seeking advice from our Holland office, Ralpine Designs decided that our Husky 100 sliding door hardware was the right project for the job. Using a library and display unit, the living room and dining room could be separated into two rooms or opened up as one big room when required. The system was used to hold two biparting wooden doors, utilising a face fixed aluminium track for added quality.

Planet Partitioning

Planet used p100 demountable double-glazed screens for all the classroom frontages and set black laminated timber classroom doors, and for the offices, 30-minuet fire-rated glass doors into our white aluminium slimline door frames. P20 single-glazed demountable partitioning features in the library and sixth form, which includes a gap between each panel of glass, an aesthetic feature to complement the internal atrium glazing. Eclipse sliding doors were used throughout. Planet's Architectural Glass' in-house design team worked with Aedas to make sure the angled atrium glass was in line with the design intent.

Rockfon ceiling solutions for work, rest and play


Weaponness Park in Scarborough has been transformed into a £15million development comprising an improved community leisure centre, a new stadium for Scarborough Athletic Football Club, a University Technical College and a satellite campus for Coventry University. Willmott Dixon were appointed by Scarborough Borough Council. The ground is next to the new UTC and Coventry University Scarborough Campus, a purpose-built campus with library, IT suites, café, mock law court, engineering and science labs. Rockfon worked successfully with Willmott Dixon and FaulknerBrowns to establish a fully compliant range of acoustic ceiling solutions that meet or exceed performance specifications in all buildings.


Style - Moveable Partition Specialists

For many hotels, adaptable space is key to maximising revenue from hiring out of function rooms. Recognising this, Rushton Hall, a magnificent Grade I listed country house hotel in the Midlands, contracted Style to add flexibility to the newly refurbished Library and main function rooms, allowing privacy when required but also ensuring the area could be opened out for larger gatherings. DORMA Variflex was agreed as the most suitable moveable wall for this historic building and Style installed two separate partitions to give maximum flexibility across three rooms, all in a stunning finish to complement the elegant interior design.

Waterproofing London's most anticipated Private Residents Club, Earls Court, London.

Newton Waterproofing Systems

This new build multi residential and commercial development in Earls Court, London will eventually stretch from Chelsea football ground to Kensington Olympia and comprises of over 800 multi-million pound luxury apartments, townhouses and penthouse suites, as well as London’s largest private residents’ club – 18,000 sq. ft of space including a lounge, library, private dining room, cinema, gym, spa facilities and 20 metre swimming pool with jacuzzi. Lillie Square Phase 1 required the formation of a water tight basement to house the residents club, Stonehouse Property Care joined the design team and provided a guaranteed waterproofing solution.
