Located in Brixton, The Department Store Studios is a five-storey contemporary office building, offering flexible co-working space alongside generous amenities including a bike storage, showers, lockers, a screening room and a bar and restaurant. The workspace has been designed and built by renowned architecture firm Squire and Partners, to be used as an addition to its own London office, in a new build property framed by cross-laminated timber. Early involvement with brickwork contractor, Lyons & Annoot, allowed for a seamless, homogenous brick build on this project. Working alongside main contractor Lyons and Annoot, from tender stage to completion, Leviat designed and manufactured a bespoke masonry restraint system which was used in the internal blockwork walls, as well as Ancon Wall Ties, Head Restraints and AMR Masonry Reinforcement in the façade.

Over 7,500sqm of Addastone Plus resin bonded surfacing has been installed at Glasgow Airport as part of the Glasgow Airport Investment Area (GAIA) project.The infrastructure works, funded through the £1.13billion Glasgow City Region City Deal initiative, began in June 2019 and includes new roads, bridges, cycling routes and pedestrian walkways around the airport.As part of the infrastructure works, Addagrip approved contractor Resarf Flooring Ltd was appointed by main contractor Wills Brothers Civil Engineering Ltd to install 7,575m2 of Addastone Plus Resin Bonded surfacing in a hard wearing 1-2mm Autumn Quartz for the perimeter paths around the site.The durable resin bonded system offers a seamless decorative, highly functional surface with excellent slip resistance.The installation was completed in May 2022.

Townscape’s involvement in the process, particularly Phase 1, has meant that the space has now been transformed into a practical yet engaging domain for students, staff, the local community, and visitors alike.The main contractor was Mace, and the sub-contractor was Maylim. The project, completed in 2021, delivered a new combined concert hall; school hall and music department. The new school hall has a capacity of 750. The Concert Hall includes a 150 seat recital hall and digital media suites. This development, the largest in the school’s history, achieves the combination of brick and natural stone, in the form of Aztec Rainscreen with stunning success. The honed Jura Limestone angled soffits give the windows a superiority as well as realising more light into the building. Areas of the large panel 1200x450mm rainscreen achieve a modern look on this prestigious development.

The principal finish of ironmongery supplied was Stain Stainless Steel, and the majority of the lever handles supplied were Salto Proximity Lever Handle sets, which worked in conjunction with the Salto Hardwired system which we supplied to the M&E Contractor.

With a proven track record of successful work in the education sector, Senior Architectural Systems was more than qualified to deliver the fenestration package for this new secondary school in Brighton.The new Chailey School in South Lewes has been designed by leading architects Jestico + Whiles and features a full range of aluminium fenestration solutions including Senior’s thermally-efficient, slimline SF52 aluminium curtain wall system and robust SPW501 aluminium commercial doors. The new school has also reunited Senior with main contractor Bowmer & Kirkland, with whom Senior has an established supplier framework agreement. The two companies have collaborated together on numerous projects, with Bowmer & Kirkland being the first contractor to specify Senior’s patented low U-value PURe® aluminium window system when it was launched back in 2015. The main contractor has gone on to work with Senior and specify its aluminium windows, doors and curtain wall systems on many other education projects across the UK.Chailey School is itself part of Department of Education construction framework agreement to modernise educational facilities and improve the environmental efficiency of this sector. Senior worked closely with specialist contactor RKN Aluminium to design, fabricate and install the fenestration package for the new school building which comprises some 85 windows, 14 section of curtain wall and 12 door sets!

EnviroBuild provided over 200m² of Hyperion Pioneer Granite decking for the incredible penthouse apartment balcony and walkway. For the Centre Point development commissioned by  Almacantar. This ambitious project to revive Centre Point’s iconic 34-storey tower. “ARDEX teamed up with one of East Anglia’s most established specialist flooring contractors to provide a 2,500m2 fast track refurbishment to the main reception, corridors and refectory. It was essential that the college remained operational throughout the refurbishment, and that the project was completed as quickly as possible.

On behalf of client Adlington Properties, this £110,000 12 month project was delivered in conjunction with specialist commercial fabricator Dempsey Dyer and contractor Gladman's Construction. It features: 300 frames Deceuninck 5000 Series Tilt and Turn 9016 White on White Decoroc

Players at Macclesfield FC enjoyed a speedy win thanks to the help of Styccobond F58 PLUS. The ‘no time to wait’ adhesive made quick work of the installation of LVTs and rubber floorcoverings as part of the creation of a new state-of-the-art gym at the Leasing.com stadium.  Flooring contractors began the project with a subfloor moisture test, which indicated high Relative Humidity (RH) levels in the subfloor, necessitating a moisture management solution to prevent excess subfloor moisture attacking floorcoverings and adhesives, potentially causing floor failure. Having removed surface laitance and old paint from the concrete subfloor on the lower floor, the contractors carried out surface repairs using Stopgap 460 Exterior Repair fast-setting rapid repair mortar. A single coat of Stopgap F77 waterproof surface membrane created a barrier against the excess subfloor moisture. Once the waterproof surface membrane had cured, the surface was primed using Stopgap P141 primer for non-absorbent surfaces before the company’s Red Bag self-levelling compound was applied at a thickness of 3mm to provide a perfectly smooth base for floorcoverings.   Styccobond F58 PLUS was used to affix charcoal-grey, wood-effect Kährs Calder Herringbone LVTs to create a bold statement in the main weights, cardio and boxing rooms, and changing areas.  Throughout the gym, rubber floorcoverings were also installed at fitness stations, using the adhesive in its wet state, to provide a soft cushion underfoot for customers using the equipment.  Upstairs, contractors made necessary repairs, including filling day joints, before priming the subfloor, this time opting for Stopgap P131 general purpose primer. Due to high RH readings contractors applied Stopgap F78 waterproof surface membrane. Once cured, Stopgap Red Bag self-levelling compound was again used to create a base for subsequently installed LVTs, completing a premier workout area for strength and resistance and cardio machines.

Rooflights were also specified to increase natural light into the building.Bauder’s Rainwater Calculation Software was also used to perform calculations in accordance with BS EN 12056-3:2000 based upon provided data relating to the building’s dimensions, geographical location and the flow rate performance of the selected Bauder rainwater outlet product. Heathrow Park is an industrial estate situated close to Heathrow Airport, UK. The construction project involved different collaboration partners – a UK steelwork and installation company and a main contractor, both operating as key stakeholders in the Heathrow Park project. The steelwork company contacted PcP on behalf of the main contractor, looking for a cost-efficient steel maintenance roof walkway to access roof equipment.Project criteria and proposalOn behalf of the main contractor, a steelwork contractor approached PcP to quote for a suitable product for 3,260 square metres of steel flooring for a maintenance walkway. Normally, twisted bar grating is specified for projects of this kind, but PcP CUBE® gratings were suggested to match the customer’s criteria regarding delivery time.The main contractor required grating for a steel flooring platform which had to be supplied by a very tight deadline and at a competitive price but with a high-quality finish. Once the customer accepted the initial proposal for the CUBE® gratings, PcP ensured that the quotation met the all the criteria specified by the client for the planning application. We provided Static load calculations and samples in order to obtain final approval.The solution CUBE® grating – an alternative to twisted bar gratingPcP proposed the new B-CUBE® grating for Heathrow Park flooring as it could be made to suit the spans required at a competitive price. However, and more importantly, the B-CUBE® grating proved a viable proposition to the client due to the low weight of the product compared to other gratings. The delivery time also met the strict site requirements. For the project, the B-CUBE® grating was manufactured over a six-week period using robotic welding on both day and night shifts in order to meet the project schedule.PcP experts delivered tailor-made CUBE® gratings for the steel flooring, and the work included paying special attention to details, accurate technical drawings, and providing all the necessary product certification and datasheets.Customer support, technical expertise and calculationsIn order to address any queries, PcP provided full support from its technical department and customer service team. Newton contractor Rymill Property Developments were approached by the owner of an old vineyard in Hampshire, in order to redevelop the site, with Newton providing advice for waterproofing retaining basements on a sloping site for three brand new, modern properties in line with BS 8102:2022.

DAY Architectural Ltd and contractor Armitage collaborated with EQUITONE to carry out the refurbishment of the restaurant at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport. The shingle design was created using EQUITONE [natura] in an overlap formation of multiple colours, including Summer Haze, Muted Yellow and Pale Mist.

Built in the heart of Birmingham, this building has 18 floors steel frame around 3 concrete cores. Being a very constrained site, close coordination was required with the structural steel frame contractor. Two deliveries a week were required to ensure their programme was met.
