This beautiful period semi-detached terrace house in South London had been lived in for many years by the same owners. Over the years a few changes had been introduced but the whole house needed an ‘update’. The rear extension was rebuilt to complement the original building, adding large doors to the garden and skylights to bring in plenty of daylight. The result is a large family kitchen/dinning/living area with heaps of space and flexibility. The architects, Martins Camisuli, chose Istoria Bespoke Porto Oak Rustic to run throughout the ground floor renovation.

With a combination of solid oak natural and kaolin laminate furniture, this bulthaup b3 kitchen sits at the centre of a large living space in a new-build family home in Jersey. With two islands, one for main preparation and one for secondary prep and informal dining it was designed for a busy family who love to cook and entertain. The raised bar top was ‘bespoke’ manufactured in the bulthaup factory from solid oak strips. With the help of Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, founder of money.co.uk, Chris Morling has been successful in his mission of creating the ultimate workspace for his Cirencester-based independent comparison website’s headquarters. The grade two listed Victorian castle features a statement herringbone floor design made up of Da Vinci planks in three contrasting oak colourways - American Oak, Fresco Light Oak and Natural Oak - and matching bespoke 36” x 3” white block colour plank and tile combination in the dedicated kitchen and break-out area.

Professional Colour Consultant and Interior Designer Lynne Mewett of Creative Ambience specified Polyflor flooring throughout Country Buddies Childcare Centre and designed all the shapes set into the floors, including the waterjet design featuring a stork carrying a child in reception. The flooring was installed by Bigger Floorworld. Lynne chose Classic Mystique and Pearlazzo homogeneous flooring in a range of colours for the play rooms, corridors and reception area. Polysafe Astral and Polysafe Verona were used for areas where sustainable wet slip resistance was required, such as the kitchens, the laundry and children’s toilets.

Heavy commercial Affinity255 PUR luxury vinyl tiles from Polyflor were recently chosen to complete the stylish interior design scheme at The LiquorLab, a new cocktail bar at the Southwater development in Telford, Shropshire. The LiquorLab is Southwater’s first cocktail bar, with a laidback, industrial inspired design scheme created by local commercial kitchen and interior fit out company Catering Centre UK. Affinity255 PUR luxury vinyl tiles in the Huckleberry Oak shade were installed in the lounge, seating and bar areas to create an inviting space for customers to socialise in.

Townhouse complex Berlin Mitte Hafenquartier Berlin Mitte was created between 2008 and 2012 as a townhouse complex with eleven residential units, constructed for Agromex GmbH & Co. KG based on a design by the architectural firm of Behzadi & Partner. Based on the developer's plan, both the interior and exterior design primarily used natural, durable, and regionally sourced materials. For the bathrooms as well as the kitchens and entry areas the architects opted for Mosa tiles from the Terra Beige&Brown and Terra Maestricht collections, which had already proven themselves in various other projects.

The Farmiloe Building, with its faded Victorian industrial charm, was last year’s venue for celebrating and awarding innovative design across the hospitality industry. This fascinating Grade II Listed building made an exciting venue for the 5th anniversary of the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards. Attended by over 600 leading international architects, designers and operators, the architecture and engineering of the Farmiloe Building was complemented by five uniquely designed ‘Box Project’ spaces, each conceived by dedicated teams for the Awards, and where Breezefree’s 115sqm retractable canopy created a striking counterpart to Nicholas Alexander Creative Construction’s theatrical alfresco kitchen area.

This project had incredibly restricted access, where the client wanted a green roof on an existing bitumen rooftop overlooked by hotel rooms. The M-Trays® had to be transported on a trolley through the hotel kitchens. They were winched onto the roof itself using a genie lift and slotted into position in a matter of hours. Trying to construct a roll-out green roof was impossible, given the restricted access. Installation was fast and effective, taking only a day and giving an instant green roof. M-Tray® dramatically improved the view from the rooms and improved the guests’ experience.

The new Pavilion Bar and Grill is part of a five-year, DEFRA-funded, estate strategy, to regenerate buildings within the UNESCO World Heritage Kew Gardens. Ryder associate, Ruth Baker, said “Heradesign panels were a significant part of the interior design, we particularly liked the sustainable quality of the material and the unlimited colour options.” Heradesign panels were specified for the ceilings to absorb sound and minimise disturbance in the open plan eating area and kitchen. Heradesign’s natural raw wood wool texture and colour complemented the bold black steel finish, rational grid and use of glass.

The client was eager to use a Lutron lighting control solution, having previously used Lutron at another property in the United States. Designed for exclusive homes, HomeWorks QS delivers artificial and natural light control, as well integrates with third-party systems for features such as temperature, audio, and security control.

Wood effect luxury vinyl tiles and hardwearing Polysafe safety flooring from Polyflor were chosen to create a nautical inspired interior design scheme for Copperfish bar, restaurant and takeaway in the seaside destination of Mumbles Pier in Swansea, Wales. Heavy commercial Affinity255 PUR luxury vinyl tiles in the Cross Sawn Timber, Aspen Pine and Flamed Chestnut designs were installed to the restaurant floor by local contractors Pro-Spec Interiors Ltd . Polysafe Apex safety flooring in the Breccia and Chromite shades was used in the back of house kitchen areas, behind the bar and around the takeaway servery.

Howe Green’s 5000 Series access covers were chosen by interior specialists, Tekne Shopfitting Limited to provide access in The Tramshed, a Grade II listed building in London. The aluminium access covers were selected to provide a reliable route to essential underfloor building services in the Tramshed’s public washrooms and busy kitchens. Ensuring an excellent aesthetic finish, Tekne fitted four covers and inlaid each frame with resin flooring to match the surrounding area. The covers were double-sealed for use over foul drainage, with a third seal fitted to help prevent the ingress of dirt.

Architect: Scenario Architecture. This beautiful Victorian villa received an innovative green-roofed extension full of natural light thanks to IDSystems installed bifold doors, gable end glazing, rooflights, window and door. The challenge for Scenario Architecture was to design an extension that was filled full of natural light, took into account the changing floor levels of the property. Under the pitched roof, the gable end glazing has been designed to perfectly match the profiles of the SUNFLEX SF75 bifold doors, whilst the inclusion of a single access door allows the extension to angle away to create a larger kitchen/dining area.

P C Henderson's Rustic 80 sliding barn door hardware has recently been specified for a home renovation of a period property in Kent. The 11 month renovation included a complete rewire, full house re-plaster, a full damp-proof course, new heating and plumbing system and a new kitchen and bathroom. The couple also required some sliding door hardware for the properties bedroom and bathroom doors. Our Rustic sliding barn door hardware was identified as the best solution for the project due to its beautifully crafted barn style hangers and rustic effect.

Two types of Welsh Slate roofing slates have helped breathe new life into the stunning Grade II listed dining hall of a top independent school. A total of 15,000 of Welsh Slate’s rectangular Cwt y Bugail and arrow-head Penrhyn Heather Blue slates now feature on the duo-pitch roof at Clifton College in Bristol. The three-storey dining hall/kitchen, which is one of, if not the biggest building in a cluster of stunning Victorian constructions, had not been re-roofed since it was built 156 years ago to a design by architect Charles Hansom.

Led by main contractors Morgan Sindall, the new extension is a sustainable 7 classroom building. Polyflor’s Forest fx in the Classic Oak design was installed in the school hall and meeting rooms, whilst high design Polysafe Verona PUR safety flooring in the light blue Skyline shade was selected for the classrooms, cloakroom, kitchen, and toilets.

Heavy commercial luxury vinyl tiles from Polyflor’s Expona Commercial collection were chosen to create a stunning interior design scheme for the new Agora Fine Food Market and Indulge Bistro & Wine Bar in Winnipeg, Manitoba. 2,861 square feet of Expona Commercial LVT in Brown Weathered Spruce and Blue Weathered Spruce were chosen for this project by local interior designers Everitt Design and installed by Bill Knight Flooring. This flooring covers the food market and deli section of Agora Fine Foods. Polysafe Verona safety flooring in the dark brown Café Noir shade was also installed in the kitchen.

Troldtekt 100% wood wool acoustic panels have been used to dramatic effect at London’s famous Open Air Theatre in Regents Park. A newly-constructed rehearsal building, designed by architects Reed Watt, comprises a stunning double-height dance and rehearsal studio in its centre encircled by offices, kitchen and green room. Troldtekt wood wall panelling in natural grey also complement the natural setting while helping to dampen and keep reverberated sound to a minimum. The rehearsal studio has been acoustically rated so that the maximum noise level that can happen in the studio before being audible outside is 100dB.

New Bright Horizons nursery has recently opened in Stoke Newington. The nursery offers six individual areas tailored to each age group as well as various play areas including a kitchen, artist studio, indoor garden and an external play area. Bright Horizons commanded high quality energy efficient lighting and Hacel were at the forefront in providing a range of class-leading LED luminaires. With the well-being of the children in mind, the nursery has been fitted with UGR<19 luminaries. The indoor garden has been fitted with colour changing lighting, making the area more exclusive and interactive for the children.

Luxury vinyl sheet flooring and Polysafe safety flooring from Polyflor was recently installed throughout apartments on the Belle View social housing development, Stow Park Avenue, Newport. Approximately 1400m² of Designatex PUR sheet vinyl flooring, Polysafe Wood fx PUR and Polysafe Arena PUR safety flooring was installed during the interior fit out phase by Evabuild Interiors Ltd, under main contractor Willis Construction. The Platinum Oak grey wood effect design from Polyflor’s Designatex collection of luxury vinyl sheet flooring for residential interiors was used throughout bedroom, living room and kitchen areas in each apartment.
