Laing O’Rourke approached Planet Partitioning to work in partnership with them and their primary architect, Rafael Vinoly, finalising the designs for all internal glazing as part of a Category A and B fit out. The work included designing and installing lecture theatre fronts, meeting and study room fronts, internal glass wall cladding and bespoke glazing. Planet installed p100 double glazed partitions to the front of all lecture theatres to ensure market-leading sound attenuation.

Two semi-automatic DORMA moveable walls combine with a fully automatic Skyfold to create two rooms (one large and one small), three smaller rooms or a complete open-plan space, depending on the client briefings, conferences and partners meetings that are planned for any particular day. All three walls boast impressive 55dB acoustic integrity, with a mix of fabric and laminate finishes to complement the interior design.

Planet installed the internal partitioning at a new gym at Cambridge University. To ensure high levels of sound attenuation, we used M100 glass partitioning between the gym, communal and reception areas. IsoClear slimline glass doors provide a striking and minimalist feel.
M100 double-glazing also features above key structural walls in the sports hall, which houses two full size courts for basketball, badminton, boxing five-a-side football and other games. The partitioning not only ensures very high levels of acoustic performance, but also follows the curved contours of the ceiling.

Working with architects, CMI Workplace and main contractor, Overbury, Style was specified to install a fully automatic Dorma Moveo Glazed ComfortDrive moveable wall adjacent to a Skyfold, the fully automatic, vertically rising operable wall, housed in the ceiling cavity. At the push of a button, the walls open and close with ease, offering a phenomenal lab tested 50dB Rw acoustic integrity for the glass system, and 51dB Rw for the Skyfold.

Located in Fortitude Valley in the heart of Brisbane. Builder, Multiplex began Stage 1 of this $200m project in May 2015 and completed it in July this year. Subcontractor, Precision Interior Walls & Ceilings enlisted Rondo’s expertise in designing the internal ceilings and partitions, external walls and soffit framing. Designed by Architect’s Elenberg Fraser, Stage 1 of the development consisted of 32 levels with 910 luxury apartments sprawled across two towers. This will eventually form part of three residential towers incorporating ground floor retail areas, cafés, restaurants and over 1000 apartments in total.

The Garden State Hotel is an iconic building in Melbourne. Accoya was chosen for a feature wall in the balcony dining room – a VIP space that looks out over the rest of the venue.
Charred Accoya was used for the feature wall to add to the secluded and private feeling of the venue. The Accoya cladding was lined with a polyurethane finish. Other sections of the feature wall were finished with Woca internal maintenance oil.
Accoya was also chosen due to its incredible finish and its ability to adapt to the unique and fresh looks offered by modern architecture.

An existing 1970s office building in Hilversum has been transformed into the new headquarters of de Alliantie, a Dutch housing company. Large parts of the internal walls and concrete floors have been removed to create a spectacular four-storey void, which is the new heart of the Alliantie building, connecting the different departments.
Pyroguard Protect bespoke toughened fire glass was used in Forster steel doors and partitions to provide 60 minutes of fire resistance, with 1B1 impact classification and strong acoustic performance.

Style first installed DORMA moveable walls at global law firm, Mayer Brown, back in 2007, soon after announcing its exclusive UK partnership with DORMA. After 12 years, Mayer Brown decided to update its flexible space with the latest operable wall technology.
Working with MCM Architecture, and contractor Overbury, Style installed two semi-automatic Variflex partitions and three Skyfold vertical-rising, fully automatic systems, both taken from the comprehensive DORMA range of operable walls. Mayer Brown visitors and staff now enjoy outstanding acoustic privacy between divided areas of 52dB Rw for the Variflex’s and 59dB Rw for the Skyfolds.

Inside, all the functional spaces look onto a large central “heart”, an operational open space that acts as a shared, walk-through zone, promoting optimal pedestrian flow. Individual and management offices and the various meeting rooms – for institutional gatherings or quieter, smaller meetings – communicate with this hub and with one other through a series of W80 glass partition walls which organise spaces, maintaining brightness and transparency and favouring the circulation of people, information and ideas.

When Moving Designs were asked to undertake a partition replacement in a five-star hotel in Manchester, we were certainly up for the challenge. Four tonnes of our Prestige acoustic partitioning were carried up two flights of stairs by nine of our skilled fitters; this had to be meticulously planned around the hotel users. The existing track had to be cut out of the ceiling to enable a new track to be replaced, seventeen panels and one pass door measuring 3.8 were installed, the plasterboard ceiling was re-instated, skimmed and re-decorated.

Maximising floor space, elegant glass enclosed winter gardens are accessed from both the bedroom/lounge areas of many of the properties. Successfully delineating the winter garden from the rest of the interior, a Dorma Hüppe Varitrans glass moveable wall system has been installed by sole UK distributor, Style.
The Varitrans has been independently impact/pressure tested and works in tandem with externally installed louvred panels to provide free air space to residents of high-rise developments where wind and air pressure are at their strongest.
Style Offers Expert Partitioning Advice to School - Wolvercote Primary School

Wolvercote Primary School, Oxfordshire, first contracted Style to install a folding wall in a classroom in 2015. This proved so useful that when the need arose again, the teaching staff insisted on the same product. Working with architect SixPC and contractor Wensley Group, Style’s team recommended the same Stylefold 120 folding wall but, with an endfold configuration rather than centrefold arrangement, giving added space when the wall is not in use. Boasting an impressive 46dB Rw acoustic rating, the partition enables the school to run adjacent classes either side, or quickly open the room up into one large space.
