TRC Windows

TRC Contracts Ltd were awarded the contract for the supply, design and installation of timber Box sash windows and doors fully glazed and factory finished to this 80 million Pound house nearby Regent’s Park. Huxley House’s impressive facade, complete with robust Doric columns, draws its inspiration from the Neoclassical architecture that is a distinct hallmark of nearby Marylebone and Primrose. With their classical columns and decorative friezes, the imposing white stucco houses that abound in these areas reveal the fingerprint of one of Britain’s finest architects, John Nash (1752 – 1835).

The Star and Garter, London

TRC Windows

TRC was commissioned in December 2015 to begin a 34-month project to refurbish the 850 sash windows, over 40 pairs of French doors and 30 replacement identical sash windows so they perform to expectation in such a high-end building, while retaining their heritage characteristics. TRC also designed, supplied and installed over 200 new timber/aluminium composite windows for an additional new building in the grounds. This included design to the developer’s requirements; producing prototypes to obtain planning approval; production; and installation by TRC’s own employed team of professional window installers.

Mumford & Wood Ltd

Award-winning timber Conservation™ windows and doors by Mumford & Wood have been specified by Wide Sky Architects in the refurbishment of a 1930’s Arts and Craft property in Buckinghamshire which is typical of the local vernacular. When purchased two years ago the property was tired, dated and badly in need of total transformation both inside and out but now it is truly a ‘des res’. The property has been completely remodelled: the footprint of the original building retained with the benefit of two and three storey extensions made to either side giving a total area of 420m².

Planet Partitioning

The European Space Agency (ESA) headquarters at Harwell Estate is a leading science, innovation, technology and business hub. Working closely with the architect and contractor, Planet Partitioning offered and installed M100, its premium modular partitioning system. For the crosswalls, Planet Partitioning used a solid core panel with a factory-laminated steel-faced panel finish and office fronts with built-in glazed units and door areas. A slim framework ensured a bright, clean and modern look for the meeting rooms and offices, while the steel-faced partitioning allowed the use of magnets to display large documents.

Sir Duncan Rice Library, Aberdeen

Planet Partitioning

Over 18 months, Planet Partitioning worked within a budget to achieve the sound attenuation levels required for the Sir Duncan Rice Library, using a combination of p100 double glazed partitioning and p20 single glazed frameless glass partition systems. We also installed timber doors throughout the library and was responsible for drywalling, which included solid partitioning between rooms and plasterboard wall lining. Planet used 27mm, low-profile frameless glazing to create a peaceful and open plan library with a spiralling off-centre atrium with 13km of shelving.

DLA Architecture, Leeds

Planet Partitioning

DLA Architecture asked Planet Partitioning to put together a specification for the internal partitioning of their meeting rooms and offices as part of a Category B fit-out. Working with Triton Construction, Planet Partitioning used p20 frameless single glazing to create meeting rooms, offices and corridor screens over three floors. This included applying a striking coloured graphic across the partitioning and installing glazed doors with a walnut timber surround. After project completion, Planet was asked to add extra partitioning to create more offices and to put together a specification for a new building in Leeds.

Profile 22 Systems

Woldgate School secured £1.3 million for improvements to its buildings from the Department for Education. The funds were to cover work including the removal and replacement of external walls not of brick construction, as well as windows and doors, many of which were the originals from when the school was first built. Profile 22 Approved Window Contractor Kingfisher Windows was appointed principal contractor for the works. The company undertook the design, manufacture and installation of the window element of the project and worked closely with trusted sub-contractors to deliver other aspects to the high standards the project demanded.

Prodigious development of luxury homes and apartments at ex-public school in Bushey, Herts. The Victorian gothic buildings of Royal Connaught Park have been the location for a multitude of films and television shows. The large dining hall was used as Hogwarts' Great Hall in the first three films in the Harry Potter series. Richard Burbidge Fusion Glass balustrade has been used on both the refurbishment phase of the original school and also subsequent new build phases within the grounds. Product supplied in re finished Walnut to compliment the schemes doors and floors.

We installed our integral finger guards in this award-winning leisure centre, as their ability to withstand bumps and bashes made it perfect for this high traffic environment. The stainless steel pivots and quality aluminium construction made it robust enough to take everything in it's stride – lasting the lifetime of the door.


TORMAX United Kingdom Ltd

As part of a significant redevelopment project, TORMAX was contracted by MK Contracts Ltd to install an impressive four-wing automatic revolving door to the main entrance of Harlow’s Princess Alexandra Hospital. With an internal diameter of over 6m, this prestigious entrance delivers clear and unhindered access for all patients, staff and visitors. “The transformed entrance is certainly fit for the 21st century,” comments Pasqualino Risi, Associate Director of Estates and Facilities at the Princess Alexandra. “Not only does it meet all current disability discrimination requirements but also significantly enhances the patient experience on entering the hospital environment.”

Henlow Academy Sports Hall


DYNAMIK work with architects at specification stage right through to completion. Henlow Academy, in Bedfordshire was led by PCMS Design to build a new four-court sports hall. Main contractor, Borras Construction, chose DYNAMIK to install the specialist low profile sprung sports floor finished in a solid sport linoleum. The client wanted a Sports Hall for multi-sport use including netball, badminton, basketball, hockey and five-a-side football and to hire the facility for public use. Solid sport linoleum, available in a range of colours, was chosen for this purpose as it is easy to clean and maintain.

Bruntwood Group has unveiled recently redeveloped Commercial Union House. Located in the heart of Manchester overlooking the Albert Square, the contemporary commercial building offers a high-quality workspaces for creatively-minded businesses. Refurbished with a modern industrial feel, the 66,249 square foot building comprises of five floors and a basement, offering flexible floor plates making this building comfortable for both single and multiple occupiers. The 24-hour access offices offer additional collaborative and break-out areas as well as bicycle storage, secure parking and showers.

Viking House, Lincoln using Ibstock's Mechslip - mechanically fixed cladding system

Durability, safety and aesthetics needed to work together for the Viking House project. With the refurbishment nestled among conventionally built brick buildings there was a need for a contemporary look that mirrored the local vernacular. Viking House, a managed student accommodation at the University of Lincoln made up of three five-storey buildings and standing 20m tall, was designed to reflect the university’s continuing progress. Mechslip was chosen along with Ibstock’s Leicester Red facing bricks, due to its A1 rated non-combustible to EN13501-1 standards making it the ideal choice for a modern high-rise structure.

In March 2017, Perkins+Will relocated to The White Chapel Building in Aldgate. The new office space is an exemplar of workplace design as well as showcase for firm’s values. Most importantly, their aim to be LEED Gold and one of the first Fitwel certified projects in Europe, this project had very specific requirements:to create a flexible space that allows for agile working, collaboration and knowledge sharing amongst the staff. The company approached Billi UK with a clear objective:an energy-efficient boiling, chilled and sparkling system with a sleek design to match their contemporary break out areas.

Recoating a resilient sports floor

Bona Limited

The renovation of a vinyl sports floor represented a saving of around 50% against the cost of a new floor and was completed in just five days. Working through deep cleaning, wet sanding, removing the sanded slurry from the floor and then neutralising with clean water, the surface was ready for the first coat of Bona Pure Colour to the centre section. Two coats of each colour were applied, followed by sports lines and a final transparent coat to seal the surface. The Bona Floor Care Program renovates and totally transforms the floor with new colours and graphics.

Marriott Hotel County Hall, London

Although opened in 1922 as the seat of London’s local government, since 1998 the historic building has hosted the iconic London Marriott Hotel County Hall. Having undergone a major transformation by RPW Design, the five star hotel now brims with distinctive contemporary British style and character. Brintons was delighted to partner RPW on the design and manufacture of bespoke-made Axminster carpets for this technically demanding yet spectacularly creative project.

The designers chose to go with a diagonal installation that created a greater feel of space to each room, a great idea if you are working with smaller rooms/ corridors. Whole Wall Bespoke Magnetic Whiteboard

For this particular project we installed a ThinkingWall at Boston College sized to fill a wall space almost floor to ceiling and left wall to right wall. The whiteboard was then customised with printed vinyls featuring a branded design to make the ThinkingWall unique to the college. At 2.2m high and 4.8m wide this bespoke magnetic whiteboard provides a huge surface area for writing, drawing, creative thinking and visual planning. The finished size is achieved through a modular system of panels that are fitted together on site to create a continuous writing surface with fine tensioned joining seams.

One of the early adopters of XYZ Concept, the fast growing national law firm Shoosmith committed to the two floors of cutting edge office development in Manchester's Spinningfields. 299 was involved with the product specification for the Cat B fit out from the very early design stages. The 5th and 6th floor of the XYZ Building features office space, reception areas, break out spaces and staircase. The contemporary look of the reception area was embellished with large Ouse Suspended. In the break out area, the slim suspended tubular fitting Nile was used in symmetric clusters.

BASF Plc Basotect® Acoustic Melamine Foam

Very good sound absorption and freedom of design. The low weight of Basotect® meant that it was possible to fit cylindrical sound absorbers to the ceiling that look like free-floating elements and blend in aestheticallywith the design of the lobby. As the lobby also has a restaurant and a bar, the sound-absorbing qualities of BASF’s melamine resin foam were decisive when it came to choosing the sound insulation.Thanks to its open-cell, fine-foam structure, the flame-retardant material is noted for its very good acoustic absorption in the medium and high frequency ranges.

Concrete, modular seating for residential play area

45 Millharbour is a residential development of two 14-storey towers and a 7-storey in the heart of London’s Docklands.The architects sought visually interesting, colourful and robust concrete seating for the area, making Mesa the ideal choice. Five seating assemblies have been created from 18 individual modules, cast in a common red concrete mix, but all unique in their configurations and designed to encourage social use of the seating. In addition to the Mesa products, 12 standard Blyth concrete cubes were supplied to the site in a contrasting terracotta-coloured mix, and placed in groups of three.

Bruynzeel Library storage: Library of Wales

Established in 1907 in Aberystwyth, the National Library of Wales holds over 6.5 million books and periodicals, and the largest collections of archives, portraits, maps and photos in Wales. Bruynzeel utilised its full range of storage options to ensure all the material in the collection could be accommodated, including archive items such as notes, drawings and multimedia files, photographic negatives, plans, framed artworks and artefacts – even rolls of aerial photographs. Each length of track for the mobile shelving needed to be individually tailored, as every aisle length is unique due to the triangular shape of the storage area.

Blaise Castle - Advanced Paving


Utilising our Advanced Paving mix, Cemex were able to save our customer time and money whilst meeting their construction needs. Cemex were approached by our customer to find a solution for an external concreted area to upgrade and extend the grounds at Blaise Castle Plant Nursey. The Nursery has enjoyed great success in producing over 2.5 million plants per year for local authorities and required the additional ground space to meet their continually growing demands. THERMOSLATE covers nearly 55% of the energy required to heat this house

This family house, located in Chailland (France), has reduced up to 55% its annual energy bills thanks to THERMOSLATE. This solar collector in natural slate covers this family needs for hot water while enhancing the aesthetics and efficiency of their home. Five solar collectors over a total surface of 6.45 square meters, were more than enough to generate the energy required to cover the hot water needs of this family. The main component of the collectors is natural slate, extracted directly from our quarries and specially selected to ensure perfect fit and performance.

Accoya fins selected for the Royal Arena in Denmark


Instigated in 2015, the Royal Arena in Copenhagen is now complete. Specified by Danish Architecture firm 3XN, roughly 250 cubic metres of Accoya was used to create the entire façade. Accoya was selected for the fins due to its elegant aesthetic appearance which gives the building an eye-catching & bespoke style. The arena is able to seat 12,500 people with additional capacity for 15,000 standing. Accoya was also chosen due to its durability & worldwide environmental standards. 3XN are known for adhering to the principles of sustainable development, so Accoya was the ideal material for the project.

AET Flexible Space

Due to its period architecture style and prominent corner location there were a number of design challenges to be overcome in order to attain full air conditioned office status for speculative open plan offices, for example, the building featured unique structural elements around the columns in addition to the floorplate configuration. In particularly shallow areas where the floor void was less than 200mm, the latest TUS-EC slimline Fantile units were installed allowing a minimum floor to ceiling height of 2.6 m to be maintained on all five office floors.

White SAS150 was installed in the building’s commercial office space, as the product enables full service accessibility. This is an invaluable factor which futureproofs interiors in times to come. Other SAS products included SAS740, which was placed in meeting rooms to maintain a linear effect throughout the space. Shortlisted for a prestigious Fit Out Award Ireland - Fit Out Project of the Year – Medium Office, SAS are very proud to have worked on this build.

Spectus delivers required specification for new build retirement village

Spectus Window Systems

Over 300 Spectus Elite 70 System windows were used in the construction of a new build retirement village in Chorley. Chorley Council commissioned a 65 apartment retirement village to provide those aged 55 and above with an independent living space with access to care and support. The development, Primrose Gardens, is part of the Council’s strategic masterplan. The Elite 70 System was able to meet the requirement & within the budget. It is a five- chamber system, which increases thermal performance, meaning it is capable of achieving a Window Energy Rating of A+ and U-values to 0.8W/m2K

Two New Ludgate Portland Stone Feature Wall


The main reception for Two New Ludgate has an 8m high and 30m long curved feature wall in Portland Stone. Putney & Wood, the stone contractor’s in-house designers used CAD to detail every stone before creating a visual representation of each elevation. A 3D model was then created as a final check before production. stoneCIRCLE was one of 3 firms involved in manufacturing the frieze and they used the latest CNC processing machinery alongside 3D modeling to ensure pinpoint accuracy. The stones had to be sanded by hand after manufacture to remove machining marks.

Transforming the Royal College of Music, London

Newton Waterproofing Systems

Newton Specialist Contractor MacLennan delivered a waterproofing solution to the iconic Royal College of Music in London. The project, spanning across five levels, was for major renovations to the college that saw advanced acoustic, air handling and climate control measures incorporated into the building. MacLennan designed and installed a Newton CDM System to deliver an entirely dry environment in the vast basements that would become auditoriums, a library, an atrium and music rooms, all with specific and bespoke requirements. The guaranteed waterproofing solution was completed within budget and one time by the expert team at MacLennan.

nVent Thermal Management

The demand for an energy-efficient hot water distribution system was met by a single-pipe system with 850m of RAYCHEM HWAT-R self-regulating heating cables, managed by nine RAYCHEM HWAT-ECO smart controllers that interface seamlessly with the BMS. Eliminating the need for the secondary pipework of a conventional recirculation system saved space and achieved cost savings of between five and ten percent in material and installation time. Pipe freeze protection was also provided by RAYCHEM WinterGard self-regulating cables, supported by an AT-TS-13 surface-sensing electronic thermostat.

It offers uninterrupted views of one of the world’s most iconic landmarks, unrivalled residents’ facilities and the highest of specifications. The Outdoor Deck Company supplied and installed decking, contemporary screens, butt-joint fencing, seating, step and riser units plus pergolas (RAL colour-matched aluminium with hardwood and Cedar slats). This prestigious project was awarded the `Grand Award` and `Principle Award – Hard Landscaping Construction over £1.5m` at the BALI National Landscape Awards in December 2017.

Bright UV stable floor coating installed at Duxford Air Museum to show off aviation exhibits at their very best

Sherwin-Williams High Performance Flooring

Sherwin-Williams polyurethane floor coating Resutile provided a bright solution for this large museum area full of famous aircraft which have been part of aviation history. Lots of natural light came into this area so any coating chosen had to be UV stable to avoid discolouration over time which would spoil the aesthetic appearance. Resutile has great chemical reistance and is fully light resistant. The product has been used in Aircraft hangars around the world for twenty five years to create and enhance bright modern environments.

Royal Mosa

Townhouse complex Berlin Mitte Hafenquartier Berlin Mitte was created between 2008 and 2012 as a townhouse complex with eleven residential units, constructed for Agromex GmbH & Co. KG based on a design by the architectural firm of Behzadi & Partner. Based on the developer's plan, both the interior and exterior design primarily used natural, durable, and regionally sourced materials. For the bathrooms as well as the kitchens and entry areas the architects opted for Mosa tiles from the Terra Beige&Brown and Terra Maestricht collections, which had already proven themselves in various other projects.
