Dundee Waterfront: Roma-3 fencing


Three types of fencing were supplied for a prestigious waterfront location on the the River Tay. The design was developed jointly with the City of Dundee Chief Engineer, creating bespoke fencing which made use of modular panels wherever possible to meet the project budget. Roma-3 was used as infill panels to the keyside balustrade. The panel frames were customised with an extensions to carry a hardwood and stainless steel handrail. All the fencing was hot-dip galvanized and polyester powder coated to provide a durable, low maintenance finish to withstand the rigours of the coastal location.

As the England rugby team prepared to host the eighth Rugby World Cup, Twickenham Stadium - home of the RFU, English rugby and the venue host for both the opening match and the final. Following fire damage to the existing timber fencing, Procter Contracts were tasked with replacing the damaged timber. Due to the timber fencing being 7.00m high, there was an issue with “working at height”, also working in a residential car park. Our trained operatives were working of a mobile platform to secure the boards as required. With due care to ensure no damage was caused to other vehicles in the car park.

Improving perimeter security at Kennington CE Academy

Kennington CE Academy is a busy primary school located in the Ashford suburb of Kennington. They work closely with their local community and are committed to safeguarding the school to provide a learning environment where children are safe and secure but feel relaxed and comfortable. As part of their commitment to safeguarding the school, they decided to update their perimeter fencing which had succumbed to age and no longer provided optimal security. Jacksons were chosen to the secure the site and worked closely with M&J Construction to ensure the project was delivered.

Tennis World uses absorptive acoustic barrier to reduce noise for phase 1 of £400,000 investment

Adjacent to the Tennis World complex and within a very close proximity to some of the modern outdoor tennis courts and a neighbouring skate park is a large electrical power substation. The substation was observed to be causing an audible continuous humming, causing annoyance for users of the nearby courts, as well as creating an eyesore visible from courts. To protect and mitigate noise created by the substation, Jacksons supplied 93 metres of 6.5m high Jakoustic® Plus fencing to enclose the area, installed by Gus Robinson Developments.

Sustainable security and noise management for new Cambridge Central Mosque

Taking 10 years to build, and costing £23 million, Cambridge Central Mosque is the first purpose-built mosque in the city, being described as ‘the greenest mosque in Europe’. To reduce the noise impact for both local residents and worshippers, our Jakoustic® Reflective acoustic fencing was installed, resulting in a safe, secure, anti-climb perimeter with an aesthetically pleasing noise barrier that blends in with the surrounding area. This is achieved using a flat timber profile along with interlocking ‘V’ boards which reduces the rate at which sound waves can pass through the barrier.

Keyworth Primary School supports over 400 pupils ranging from three to eleven years old throughout nursery and primary education. The school encourages a culture that enables children to play and enjoy themselves, investing in state of the art outdoor facilities, such as an artificial sports pitch and playground. Situated in a populated urban area, the school required high security perimeter fencing to protect the site from intruders and ensure children and staff were safe at all times. Furthermore, measures needed to be taken to make certain that the children were secured within the playground during sports and leisure activities.

Identified as a leading fencing and physical security provider the remit was simple: design, supply and install storage cages for a luxury high end car manufacturer. Creating storage for parts, logistics and high end materials meant our engineers designed unique holding cells for a new warehouse development which provided a secure practical solution whilst meeting the strict design criteria set by the brand. With a flat profile and double layered horizontal wires, EuroGuard Flatform mesh panels have 200 x 50mm wire centres which were the ideal profile for the commercial environment and overall purpose.

Upgrading physical perimeter security using 358 mesh, access control measures and crash rated systems for a water treatment plant

Following the brief outlined by the water treatment plan the proposal adopted for implementation was for the creation of secure access control. Bi-Folding Speed Gates, topped with razor wire were supplied to each of the main entry and exit points to the site. These were supported by PAS 68 rising bollards and rising arm barriers with synchronised operation and traffic light signalling. The gates and barriers were flanked by runs of Jacksons mesh fencing to provide a separate pedestrian entrance to the facility, while static PAS 68 rated bollards were additionally deployed to manage traffic within the site.

Access Self Storage Twickenham is situated on Rugby Road and serves the storage needs of Twickenham, Richmond upon Thames, West London and Surrey. The site offers 24 hour access, large vehicle access and customer parking; as such it is important that site has a secure perimeter with controlled gated access. Jacksons were specified to install Barbican Imperial® fencing and gates combined with EuroGuard® Regular Mesh in order to improve access control and perimeter security at the site.

The rear garden at The Fence, in London’s bustling Spitalfields district, is one of the largest in the City, giving the pub a unique selling point that’s promoted prominently on their website. Despite being a destination venue, the only shelter on the decked terrace area was provided by a pair of gazebos that allowed water to run off onto other areas of the terrace, and did not complement the venue’s design concept...

CLD Fencing Systems

Challenging brief The CLD team worked closely from the initial design stage to ensure they met budgets and a challenging brief: to create a fencing design that was attractive and fun whilst providing optimal safety for the school and its 200 pupils. CLD supplied the Dulok Wavetop system for discreet but robust security, the Dulok Rebound system for high performance sports fencing and locking gates with a Slidemaster main gate. A unique multi-coloured ‘pencil’ fence was also added marking out the play area with large pencil-shaped posts with wooden tops that can be re-painted by the children in any colour.

Limes Place is a modern collection of 19 family homes, situated in Upper Harbledown, on the outskirts of Canterbury. The new Persimmon Homes development features a range of three, four and five bedroom detached houses priced between £377,000-550,000. While the surrounding area is encompassed by rural farmland and rustic woodland, it is also situated close to the busy A2 carriageway which regularly experiences heavy traffic heading to and from Dover and the M2 motorway, generating unwelcomed levels of noise pollution for existing and prospective residents.

Jacksons’ Euroguard Combi secures Jaguar Land Rover’s New Luxury Showroom

Jaguar Land Rover established a new luxury show room in Watford earlier last year to accommodate the growing business needs of the local area. The new site, located in the Colne Valley Retail Park, facilitates an 18-car showroom and external display area as well as an MOT bay and valeting facilities. With around 50 fulltime employees, frequent visitors and a vast number of high value motor vehicles, it was imperative that the site was secured with adequate perimeter security and access control to ensure the safety of site personnel and protect commercial assets.

New: Southern Salads reducing noise and light pollution with Jacksons Acoustic Barriers

A recent redevelopment of land across the busy A26 from Southern Salads of residential apartment blocks caused a number of complaints on the issue of noise and light pollution. As a proactive and responsible member of the community, the company specified 85m of Jakoustic® Plus acoustic barrier to help minimise the impact of their operations on local residents. The 4.5m high, 85m of Jakoustic® Plus specified for the North Eastern boundaries of the site is supported by base-plated galvanised steel I-beam posts and designed to achieve a 16.4 dB reduction in noise* from the site.

London Fire Stations choose Jacksons in state-of-the-art refurbishment

In 2013 The London Fire Brigade received £51.5 million from central government to rebuild nine fire stations.A consortium led by construction group Kier, along with BDP architects were given the contract following a detailed procurement process. Jacksons were specified to supply access gates for eight of the stations undergoing refurbishment.

East Kent Primary school choose V Mesh to secure perimeter

Originally built in 1871, the school was initially designed to house 140 pupils, but in recent years has undergone development to improve and modernise facilities. In 2017 the school, with support from the parents, purchased 0.65 acres of land. We supplied 106 metres of 1.8 metre high EuroGuard® Regular to secure the perimeter of the new outdoor learning area. To accommodate for the sloping ground, our EuroGuard® Regular panels were stepped to keep a continual height along the perimeter to ensure there are no vulnerable points. The EuroGuard® Regular mesh panels were polyester powder coated Black RAL 9005.

Faversham Linen Services are one of the leading commercial laundry service providers in the South East and recently moved into their 28,000ft2 state of the art factory. The factory is responsible for washing over 14 million garments every year and the company take great care to minimise their impact on the surrounding environment. With the disruption caused by industrial sized machines working long hours and HGV's going to and from the site throughout the day, Faversham Linen Services chose to install 76m of Jakoustic® Reflective Acoustic Barrier to help minimise the impact of their operations on local residents.

Burntwood School in South West London is an all girls school with 2000 pupils and 200 staff. They are committed to providing an environment in which “students and staff can feel secure” in order to offer the best education. In order to match the award winning contemporary architecture and secure the school’s perimeter, Jacksons were chosen to supply over 370m of security solutions using a range of perimeter security applications.

Emirates Stadium: barrier fencing, security screening, balustrading and wall cladding.


Lang+Fulton products were used extensively at The Emirates Stadium for Arsenal FC as barrier fencing, security screening, balustrading and wall cladding. The Arezzo-25 fence panels with a 76x25mm aperture were supplied with the flat bars running horizontally in order to take a loading requirement of BS6399 – 1:1996. This guaranteed its suitability for use as a barrier fence for the crowd control areas surrounding the Emirates. Alternative fixing methods combined with the versatility of the panels created continuity of design throughout the varied applications within the project.

Heras develops unique and artistic fence for Schiphol SmartGate Cargo


At Schiphol Airport’s Joint Inspection Center (JIC), enforcement staff and inspection services work closely together in inspecting air cargo quickly, safely and efficiently. Since the building is government property, a statutory regulation provided that a portion of the budget for the JIC must be allocated towards art. Heras developed an artistic fence in association with artist Hansje van Halem, Schiphol, Customs and the Government Property Company.

North Kent Police HQ: Italia-100. Steel louvred fencing and generator compound.


North Kent Police HQ is a four-storey landmark building of 11,500 m2. In addition to the perimeter fencing, Lang+Fulton supplied the steel louvred cladding panels and support steelwork for the generator housing. The panels were made from Italia-100 which is an extremely robust louvred material, providing 100% visual screening and a high level of security. Italia-100 was considered to perfectly complement the overall architectural design as well as providing the required functionality at a sensitive site.

Waitrose Distribution: Roma-3 mild steel grating fence in a galvanized finish was specified for the boundary demarcation.


Waitrose’s Distribution Centre at Bracknell delivers to more than 60 stores, handling up to 150,000 cases of chilled products. The new warehouse was conceived to a ‘green’ design; generating 20% of renewable energy on site with waste heat and office cooling recycled from the refrigeration process, efficient lighting and low carbon emissions. Hoardings during construction were made from recycled plastic and materials from the demolition were also recycled. In keeping with the concept of sourcing natural materials, a Roma-3 mild steel grating fence in a galvanized finish was specified for the boundary demarcation.

Slough Data Centre

The installed secure perimeter fencing around the data centre enabled the client to meet the highest security requirements required to operate its business. Specifically designed for high-security applications, Pro-Sure 358 high security fencing consists of 76.2mm x 12.7mm mesh. This meant that not only would it be impossible for would-be trespassers to get a foothold or wire cutters in the fence, the improved through visibility enabled the area on the other side of the fence to be monitored easily.

Making all alterations where necessary to the existing host fencing to allow for the Gallagher install, as well as all civils and ducting work.

Securing the biggest show on Earth

Zaun Limited

The Olympic Delivery Authority turned to Zaun to secure the near 20km boundary of the Olympic Park. A further 1.5km of Zaun fencing provided a ‘ring-within-a- ring’ around the Olympic Stadium. Zaun worked with Olympic Park contractor Skanska and stadium contractor BAM Nuttall to install 3.6m high fencing above ground, topped with 1.2m of electric fencing, with security properties specified by Olympic security advisers.

Lakefield School

Procter were employed by TRJ to supply and install various types of fencing and gates to Lakefield School site in Llanelli. The site required 2.4m high Secured By Design (SBD) fencing and 1.2m high above a new built brick wall on dog leg posts to the perimeter.

For this new school build we manufactured and installed 3.5m high bespoke custom made railings and matching automatic swing gates, weldmesh fencing, plus high quality planed timber close board fencing which comes with a 25 year guarantee. The project very much demonstrates our ability to deliver any combination of fence and gate types to meet both operational and aesthetic requirements. Clients are very pleased with the overall job and impressed with the school emblem on the gates, together with gates' efficiency allowing for different modes of operation in and outside of school hours.

HMRC - New Bailey

Procter’s were specified to design, supply & install automated gates and ‘SBD’ fencing to the front of HMRC offices in the centre of Manchester. Bowmer & Kirkland were asked to create something out of the ordinary to the head offices of HMRC. We were asked to provide fencing & gates clad with Aluminium along side their landscaping architects so they could carry out planting in front of our fencing. Designing the bases so planting could take place whilst avoiding many services as well as underground parking were some of the obstacles faced along with city centre working.

Ysgol Bae Baglan

The client and main design/build Contractor wanted Ysgol Bae Baglan to be truly outstanding in terms of quality and facilities, and the head teacher had a clear vision for the new academy. All of the fencing, gates and street furniture had to fit within the overall design concept and the fencing and gates had to be Secured by Design – yet the budget on the £40-million project was very tight.

This project demonstrates our ability to deliver a complete projects which involves automatic gates and security fencing. We designed, manufactured and installed a double leaf cantilevered sliding gate of 12m wide x 2.4m high with laser-cut customer logo, plus matching perimeter fencing. They were thrilled with the laser-cut logo and that we managed to match the colour exactly to their brand. Also impressed with the level of security achieved.
