The school has over 600 students, with a large site featuring several buildings including classrooms, halls and areas for physical activities. The decision to update their perimeter fencing was part of the school’s aim to provide a safe, happy and welcoming environment for children, staff, parents and visitors.

Jacksons Fencing was contacted by Border Force, the law enforcement command within the Home Office responsible for securing the UK border, with a brief to tender for the design, manufacture and installation of security fencing and a series of matching gates. Initially Jacksons was awarded 3.3km of the 5.0km contract, however as of October 2016, the company had worked across 4 key locations spread throughout the perimeter and interior of the site and installed a total of 11.5km of fencing and 63 gates.
Bow Top Railings for Porthaven Care Home

Newly built Cavell Park Care Home, a Porthaven home, is situated in a convenient location, close to the historic town of Maidstone and a stone’s throw from the M20 motorway. To ensure the perimeter of the grounds and the gardens of the care home are safe for residents to spend time in, fencing and gates were required. In addition, with the standard of care being high, this needed to be reflected and indicated in the presentation of the whole site, so the car park at the front of the site needed premium quality demarcation fencing to create an excellent first impression. Black metal bow top railings and matching gates were chosen to demarcate and secure the boundary; specified in varying height intervals for the different areas of the site to suit requirements.

A £2.5 million investment at Toronto Primary School in Howden has provided a new purpose-built sports hall, as well as a fully DDA compliant main entrance and safe drop-off area. The ethos of the expansion and development of the school’s facilities was to maintain the unique physical character and immediacy of the school’s grounds and green avenues.The external landscaping has made extensive use of Novara-34 anti-climb fencing. Different heights of fences and gates, 1.8m and 1.2m, secure the main perimeter and subdivide the playground areas. The fence panels were installed with wooden posts replicating the theme of the surrounding tree-lined avenue.Novara-34 was also used to create security screens with gated access for both the Janitor’s entrance and a storage area.The fencing was supplied hot-dip galvanized and polyester powder coated RAL3007 Black/Red.

With approximately 20 children and staff onsite during open hours; ensuring complete safety for all parties was a key requisite for the project. Recognised as a leading perimeter security specialist Jacksons were identified as the right company to design and supply both a vertical bar fencing solution and timber palisade alternative for both the perimeter and internal areas of the school.
Supplying over 60 x 1m high Sentry fencing, the system was mounted on top of the existing 1m high boundary wall using our bespoke designed cranked fence posts whilst also being stepped to accommodate the sloping ground.
Independent special school provides safety and security for pupils with 358 mesh

Hope View Independent School is a boys only institution that works with 7-18 year olds who have behavioural and learning difficulties. The school is situated close to a major transport route and along the same road as the train station.
We supplied and installed 20m of Securi-Mesh® 358 fencing 2.44m high to replace existing fencing that was close to the train station and track. In addition to the fencing, we installed a single leaf Securi-Mesh® matching gate which has the same properties as the fencing, meaning there are no weak gaps in the perimeter.

Maidstone Borough Council Safely Secures New Mote Park Play Area with Anti Trap Bow Top Fencing

Mote Park is a 450-acre green space within the town of Maidstone, Kent. The expansive park has woodland, grasslands and rivers all surrounding a 30 acre lake. To safely secure the perimeter of the new play area we supplied 230 metres of Anti Trap Bow Top fencing and a number of matching gates. Due to the nature of the site, other park users and the large volumes of families with young children expected to visit the play park, safety was a top priority throughout the project.

Vehicle manufacturer Scania has signalled its commitment to its UK network by investing in a new £6m flagship commercial vehicle centre in Brooklyn Park, Maidstone. With a large number of HGVs coming in and out at all hours of the day, Scania wanted to make sure that unauthorised personnel were kept out of harm’s way while also securing their investment from theft and damage. As experts in delivering safe and secure sites, Jacksons Fencing was specified to supply and install perimeter solutions for the new depot, protecting Scania’s assets and ensuring the safety of members of the public.

Lang+Fulton products were used extensively at The Emirates Stadium for Arsenal FC as barrier fencing, security screening, balustrading and wall cladding. The Arezzo-25 fence panels with a 76x25mm aperture were supplied with the flat bars running horizontally in order to take a loading requirement of BS6399 – 1:1996. This guaranteed its suitability for use as a barrier fence for the crowd control areas surrounding the Emirates. Alternative fixing methods combined with the versatility of the panels created continuity of design throughout the varied applications within the project.
New Fencing at Elland Road, home of Leeds United Football Club

49ers Enterprises Ltd, the corporate venture capital arm of The San Francisco 49ers focused on sport, has acquired full ownership of Leeds United Football Club with a commitment to bring fresh leadership, management and investment.Recent improvements at the Club have included a steel louvred fence.Lang+Fulton supplied an Italia-100 steel louvred fence to screen the parking area for coaches at the Club. Italia-100 provides a high level of security with anti-climb properties and 100% visual screening. The fencing stretches to 111 linear metres behind the West stand of the stadium.Each RHS post was double-holed to allow for the installation to be stepped along the entire length of the fence run to accommodate the gently rising ground. Access for the coaches was provided through an extra wide 7450mm double leaf gate.The specification for the fencing and gates was for a height of 2500mm. This was achieved by seamlessly stacking an extension panel on top of the standard 1975mm panel with a flat bar frame on either side.The panels posts and gates were hot-dip galvanized and polyester powder coated Grey (RAL7016) for a durable, long lasting finish.
Market Estate and Caledonian Park, Islington - Modena Railing Fence

Market Estate is situated next to Caledonian Park in the London Borough of Islington. It is named after the Metropolitan Cattle Market, opened by Prince Albert in 1855 as an alternative to Smithfield. A major redevelopment includes a mix of residential units. As part of this scheme, significant improvements were made to Caledonian Park: planting new trees and relaying paths.A Modena railing fence surrounds the formal landscaping and a children’s play area within the park and encloses an additional garden to the North.Over 450m of standard and radiused fencing was supplied with double-leaf and pedestrian gates. A pair of bespoke gates were designed and manufactured to hang within stone pillars with a section of Modena-XL, 3m high fencing, to either side. This forms an impressive entrance towards the Victorian Clock Tower, the clock is noted for being a prototype for Big Ben.Finish: hot-dip galvanised & polyester powder coat – Mica Grey

They work closely with their local community and are committed to safeguarding the school to provide a learning environment where children are safe and secure but feel relaxed and comfortable. As part of their commitment to safeguarding the school, they decided to update their perimeter fencing which had succumbed to age and no longer provided optimal security. Jacksons were chosen to the secure the site and worked closely with M&J Construction to ensure the project was delivered efficiently.
Anti-climb fencing for new Primary School & Children’s Centre

Hitherfield Primary School & Children’s Centre provides community and children’s services and extended day care for pre-school age children in Streatham. The £1.2m project at Hitherfield was won by Architype whose philosophy is “to be bold and honest in the use and expression of materials, rooted in environmentally sustainable design and based on simple strong ideas”.Lang+Fulton were asked to supply non-climbable, Novara-34 barrier fencing, adjacent to the ramp which provides wheelchair-friendly access. The 1250mm wide grating panels and 130x15mm flat bar posts with base plate fixings were specified by the architect to accommodate any potential loading to the fencing. Crossrail’s new station at Abbey Wood has been built over the railway tracks where the Elizabeth line terminates. From above, the building is shaped like a manta ray, its ‘wings’ extending into canopies sheltering staircases either side which swoop down to platform level below.Stretto-22 Soffit PanelsThe soffit panels for the staircases and elevated walkways were made from Stretto-22 pressure-locked grating, customised to a bespoke 66x22mm aperture to provide an enhanced level of visual screening. Each panel was exactly contoured to match the demanding serpentine shape of the footbridge canopies.Torino-22 Barrier FencingBarrier fencing was made for the platforms from Torino fence panels which were customised and engineered with a heavy intermediate framing bar at the loading point to comply with Network Rail’s specified requirement.DeltaBox-70 Louvred ScreeningStorage areas beneath the stairs were secured with DeltaBox-70 louvred screening panels.Torino-11 and Stretto-11 Protective Screens Lang+Fulton also supplied a Torino-11 screen to protect the overhead lines and track from the threat of thrown objects.An alternative access to the station was enclosed with a Stretto-11 anti-projectile screen.

Access Self Storage Twickenham is situated on Rugby Road and serves the storage needs of Twickenham, Richmond upon Thames, West London and Surrey. The site offers 24 hour access, large vehicle access and customer parking; as such it is important that site has a secure perimeter with controlled gated access.
Jacksons were specified to install Barbican Imperial® fencing and gates combined with EuroGuard® Regular Mesh in order to improve access control and perimeter security at the site.

Rokeby School benefits from a generous outdoor space incorporating an all weather multi-use games pitch, a fitness trail and outdoor dining area.Lang+Fulton supplied a Novara-25 perimeter fence to secure the boundary.Novara-25 has an extremely narrow aperture. This delivers excellent anti-climb properties, which comply with NHBS guidelines, for schools, colleges and residential environments. In addition, it is made with a 1270mm wide panel width which provides exceptional rigidity and the fence was supplied with an I-post to reduce the gap between panel and post for increased safety and security.A pivot gate was designed for the main entrance with a double leaf gate providing access for deliveries.

The overarching challenge was to establish an enhanced level of security at the premises, combined with effective, easy to manage access control, but with absolutely no compromise on the overall aesthetics of the site. This product is supplied as standard with natural timber slats, which (as per all Jacksons timber) have been kiln dried and Jakcure pressure treated to offer long lasting and highly effective protection against rot and wood boring pests. However, the client required the timber slat inserts to be provided in the house colour grey, which we sourced from Denmark to remain consistent.
Sustainable security and noise management for new Cambridge Central Mosque

Taking 10 years to build, and costing £23 million, Cambridge Central Mosque is the first purpose-built mosque in the city, being described as ‘the greenest mosque in Europe’.
To reduce the noise impact for both local residents and worshippers, our Jakoustic® Reflective acoustic fencing was installed, resulting in a safe, secure, anti-climb perimeter with an aesthetically pleasing noise barrier that blends in with the surrounding area. This is achieved using a flat timber profile along with interlocking ‘V’ boards which reduces the rate at which sound waves can pass through the barrier.

Around the perimeter of the school, Jacksons installed approximately 140 metres of 1.8m high Bow Top fencing, 3 metres of 1m high Bow Top fencing.
To provide separate access control for pedestrians and vehicles, 4 manual single leaf Bow Top gates and 3 double leaf Bow Top gates were installed, one of which was automated to control access to the site.
In addition to this, we supplied 26.6 metres of 1.8m high EuroGuard® Flatform Medium mesh, and 38 metres of 2.4m high EuroGuard®Flatform Medium , along with 1 single leaf 2m wide EuroGuard Flatform Heavy Gate.

Keyworth Primary School supports over 400 pupils ranging from three to eleven years old throughout nursery and primary education. The school encourages a culture that enables children to play and enjoy themselves, investing in state of the art outdoor facilities, such as an artificial sports pitch and playground.
Situated in a populated urban area, the school required high security perimeter fencing to protect the site from intruders and ensure children and staff were safe at all times. Furthermore, measures needed to be taken to make certain that the children were secured within the playground during sports and leisure activities.

North Kent Police HQ is a four-storey landmark building of 11,500 m2. In addition to the perimeter fencing, Lang+Fulton supplied the steel louvred cladding panels and support steelwork for the generator housing. The panels were made from Italia-100 which is an extremely robust louvred material, providing 100% visual screening and a high level of security. Italia-100 was considered to perfectly complement the overall architectural design as well as providing the required functionality at a sensitive site.
Tennis World uses absorptive acoustic barrier to reduce noise for phase 1 of £400,000 investment

Adjacent to the Tennis World complex and within a very close proximity to some of the modern outdoor tennis courts and a neighbouring skate park is a large electrical power substation. The substation was observed to be causing an audible continuous humming, causing annoyance for users of the nearby courts, as well as creating an eyesore visible from courts.
To protect and mitigate noise created by the substation, Jacksons supplied 93 metres of 6.5m high Jakoustic® Plus fencing to enclose the area, installed by Gus Robinson Developments.
Jacksons Absorptive acoustic fencing reduces noise impact on local residents for inner city supermarkets

Aldi are a supermarket chain with over 700 stores throughout the UK, many of which are located in or around city centres or other areas which have a high population density. One of the issues this creates is noise pollution, which can emanate from the stores throughout the day as a result of deliveries from heavy goods vehicles in the loading bays, where heavy machinery is often used to transport pallets of goods.
As a responsible member of their community, two Aldi stores in Kent came to Jacksons looking to reduce the impact of noise coming from their property.
Waitrose Distribution: Roma-3 mild steel grating fence in a galvanized finish was specified for the boundary demarcation.

Waitrose’s Distribution Centre at Bracknell delivers to more than 60 stores, handling up to 150,000 cases of chilled products. The new warehouse was conceived to a ‘green’ design; generating 20% of renewable energy on site with waste heat and office cooling recycled from the refrigeration process, efficient lighting and low carbon emissions. In keeping with the concept of sourcing natural materials, a Roma-3 mild steel grating fence in a galvanized finish was specified for the boundary demarcation.
Playtime® Timber fencing and gates create a safe and secure play environment at Lollard Street Playground

Lollard Street Adventure Playground is a Danish inspired vibrant urban playground which provides an exciting play space for children aged 6-16 years of age.
The playground is divided into various play spaces, including; football pitches, basket ball courts, climbing frames and small garden areas. These areas needed to be effectively divided internally whilst the perimeter of the playground required further security to ensure the children are deterred from venturing off the site into dangers, such as traffic, around the busy urban estate where the playground is situated.
Upgrading physical perimeter security using 358 mesh, access control measures and crash rated systems for a water treatment plant

Following the brief outlined by the water treatment plant the proposal adopted for implementation was for the creation of secure access control. Bi-Folding Speed Gates topped with razor wire were supplied to each of the main entry and exit points to the site. These were supported by PAS 68 rising bollards and rising arm barriers with synchronised operation and traffic light signalling. The gates and barriers were flanked by runs of Jacksons Securi-Mesh® fencing to provide a separate pedestrian entrance to the facility, while static PAS 68 rated bollards were additionally deployed to manage traffic within the site.
Reducing noise pollution at Faversham Linen Services

Faversham Linen Services are one of the leading commercial laundry service providers in the South East and recently moved into their 28,000ft2 state of the art factory.
The factory is responsible for washing over 14 million garments every year and the company take great care to minimise their impact on the surrounding environment.
With the disruption caused by industrial sized machines working long hours and HGV's going to and from the site throughout the day, Faversham Linen Services chose to install 76m of Jakoustic® Reflective Acoustic Barrier to help minimise the impact of their operations on local residents.
Bellevue Colonies, Edinburgh – contemporary railing fence

In 1861 a small group of stonemasons formed the Edinburgh Cooperative Building Company to create affordable homes, by and for workmen, to escape from slum landlords. Typically, the terraced houses were arranged back-to-back with individual gardens: the ground-floor front doors facing one direction and first floor front doors on the opposite side with external staircases.The ‘colonies’ design has been widely replicated and recently resurrected with a contemporary approach in a new Edinburgh development by Glencairn Properties. Bellevue Colonies at McDonald Road recreates the original sense of community and interaction between neighbours with shared footpaths, gates and external stairs.Lang+Fulton supplied Modena railings to delineate each private garden space and provide boundary demarcation to the street. The railings were mounted on dwarf walls and were hot-dip galvanized and polyester powder coated for a durable finish in keeping with the quality materials of brick, zinc and slate that were used throughout the development.Awards: Homes for Scotland - Housing Development of the Year (shortlisted)

Limes Place is a modern collection of 19 family homes, situated in Upper Harbledown, on the outskirts of Canterbury. The new Persimmon Homes development features a range of three, four and five bedroom detached houses priced between £377,000-550,000.
While the surrounding area is encompassed by rural farmland and rustic woodland, it is also situated close to the busy A2 carriageway which regularly experiences heavy traffic heading to and from Dover and the M2 motorway, generating unwelcomed levels of noise pollution for existing and prospective residents.
London Fire Stations choose Jacksons in state-of-the-art refurbishment

In 2013 the London Fire Brigade received £51.5 million from central government to rebuild nine fire stations. A consortium led by construction group Kier, along with BDP architects, was given the contract following a detailed procurement process. Jacksons were specified to supply access gates for eight of the stations undergoing refurbishment.
East Kent Primary school choose V Mesh to secure perimeter

Originally built in 1871, the school was initially designed to house 140 pupils, but in recent years has undergone development to improve and modernise facilities. In 2017 the school, with support from the parents, purchased 0.65 acres of land.
We supplied 106 metres of 1.8 metre high EuroGuard® Regular to secure the perimeter of the new outdoor learning area. To accommodate for the sloping ground, our EuroGuard® Regular panels were stepped to keep a continual height along the perimeter to ensure there are no vulnerable points. The EuroGuard® Regular mesh panels were polyester powder coated Black RAL 9005.
