Installation of 3 number MG100 Semi Electric Movable Acoustic Walls for a large company in London. This design has allowed our client to have 4 separate rooms or 1 larger flexible working space. With a flick of a switch there is no need to manually lock each panel off with the automatic top and bottom seals locking off the system. One of the closed spaces did not have an internal access door so we included an inset door panel within one of the standard panels to allow for access in-between the rooms once the panels are in their closed position. Our client wanted as much clear workable room space as possible and using the double point stacking tracks the panels foldaway into a recessed pocket. Grey laminate panel finish chose to give a clean design and match other furniture within the room. An element of flexibility is suddenly added to your space. This office redesign for a client in the healthy living space incorporated a variety of natural finishes and details for the right look and feel. Vtec’s texture range met the natural requirement with ease and STONE WALL PANELS in STRATA WHITE were used as a design statement in the reception area, reflecting the client’s wellbeing brand and setting the tone for visitors. The panels were an ideal backdrop for company signage to be added. Throughout the design, the execution is impeccable with high quality fixtures and colourful details bringing the office to life.

For the new distribution centre at Schiphol Trade Park along the A4, living walls have been realised with MobiPanel, the living wall system from Mobilane. With a total surface spanning 750 m2, the facades of the new distribution centre is greened with the latest generation vertical green from Mobilane.Sustainable and innovative distribution centreA lot of attention has been paid to the appearance of the new distribution centre. With the design of Dedato Architecten, sustainability has not only been taken into account on the inside, but also sustainability at the outside of the building has been taken into consideration by including nature-inclusitivity. Dick Venneman, architect and owner of Dedato Architecten tells: “It is a building with its own characteristic appearance, a landmark from the highway. The building is in its materials friendly and accessible. The different surfaces in the facade gives it a human approach. The living walls and the vertically placed solar panels tells something about the sustainability of the building and plays a role in the preservation of biodiversity in the area”. In addition, the MobiPanel living walls makes the environment more sustainable and improves air quality. The installation of the living walls was carried out by Mobicare in collaboration with Zoontjens Boomprojecten. In addition to the living walls, Zoontjens also installed two large roof gardens with various trees, shrubs and 2,600 MobiRoof ECO sedum cassettes totalling 650 square metres.Distribution centre 2.0 Schiphol Trade ParkThe building spans 30.000 m2 of which 3000 m2 is available for offices. Under the distribution centre, there is a car park spanning 7500 m2 with space for 270 cars. The construction of the new distribution centre began in 2020 and is delivered by Dijkham Bouw BV. “From the environment, wellbeing and to prevent a paved environment, for the design it has been chosen to implement living walls, green roofs and ground level. We are very satisfied about this procedure. The execution is very good, the communication was good”, according to Marcel Smeets – Coordinator at Dijkham Bouw BV. The distribution centre was developed by Minerva Development. Minerva Development is an independent developer with years of experience in the development and realisation of business premises. “Since Schiphol Trade Park has set the goal of becoming one the most sustainable logistics centre, as developers we were very happy to take on the challenge. Next to all other facilities such as solar panels, we have opted for a lot of greenery in the design. Not only on the facades, but also in the surroundings of the building and on the roof. We are very happy with the end result and proud of the fact that because of the living walls, this is by far the most beautiful DC in the area. MobiPanel is an innovative, sustainable and lightweight system for living walls. It is a modular and circular system consisting of omega profiles and pregrown plant cassettes (40 x 40 cm), provided with an automatic irrigation and drainage system. The plants in the cassettes receive water through capillary action. MobiPanel can be installed on flat or curved walls and is suitable for different types of walls, including certain types of sandwich panels. Yeoman Shield HessianEx wall panels at 1250mm high and 50x50mm Corner Protection Angles in Lilac was fitted on the ground & 1st floor corridors and plaza area. HessianEx panels, cut to 300mm wide was fitted as an attractive protection strip in waiting areas, to protect against chairs being pushed up against walls and causing marks and scuffs.

Modern building designs often create clean, crisp lines and an urban streetscape of hard landscaping and walkways. CS provided a comprehensive wall protection package for the King Edward Building, Bristol Royal Infirmary. Installed by the company’s in-house installation team, Conspec Contracts, durable Acrovyn products will protect the facility from the effects of impact damage and wear & tear, ensuring the interior is easy to clean and maintain for years to come.

With a steadily expanding workforce of 200+ highly skilled software engineers, space is at a premium at Amazon’s development centre in Edinburgh. Working with architect, Hassell, and contractor, Clark Contracts, Style was specified to deliver a partitioning solution that would enable the open-plan conference and training room to be segregated into smaller rooms, as required.Installing two Dorma Hüppe Variflex moveable walls either side of a central column, the large area can now be quickly split into two individual rooms.With an incredible 59db Acoustic rating, this is almost an entirely sound-proofed solution, which means there is no disturbance from events taking place either side of the wall. The I-House System, incorporating Celcon Vertical Wall Panels, has been specified for use on 164 units of the Norton Farm site in Bromsgrove. The I-House system, a collaboration between Roofspace (formerly SIG) and H+H UK provides the speed of offsite construction with the familiarity of a traditional build.

This is ideal for competitions, visiting societies and other gatherings.The second wall further divides the room, giving a greater level of privacy when shut thanks to internal blinds between the glass. With both walls offering a 31dB acoustic rating, additional events can now take place without being disturbed by activities in the main bar.

With a focus on the needs of the local community, the newly constructed St Philip’s Church Centre near Birmingham, has been designed to accommodate a wide range of activities, from regular worship to choir practice, toddler groups and Pilates.Adding flexibility to the open-plan, 350 seat Worship Space, partitioning expert Style worked with Kier Construction and architects, Robothams, to install a Dorma Hüppe Variflex solid moveable wall, dividing the area into two separate rooms, as required.Allowing light into both areas, the partition includes two Variflex glass panels as well as vision panels within the double door. The University launched ambitious new plans for a £40 million state-of-the-art Collaborative Teaching Laboratory (CTL) to facilitate the teaching of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects.Our work for the project included the supply of approximately 684m2 of Soundis Absorb-R timber wall panels. The client opted for a combination of 8/3m Absorb-R WoodTec Grooved and Soundis Absorb-R WooTec Perforated 2/2/0.5 Perforated panels. This combination of the two styles creates a stylish yet elegant finish.Black panels were chosen for the walls and white panels for the railing areas, the contrast of the colours further promoting that modern style for the university.The old choice between Engineering-led functionality, and beautiful design not longer applies. With approximately 20 children and staff onsite during open hours; ensuring complete safety for all parties was a key requisite for the project. Recognised as a leading perimeter security specialist Jacksons were identified as the right company to design and supply both a vertical bar fencing solution and timber palisade alternative for both the perimeter and internal areas of the school. Supplying over 60 x 1m high Sentry fencing, the system was mounted on top of the existing 1m high boundary wall using our bespoke designed cranked fence posts whilst also being stepped to accommodate the sloping ground.

The Royal Bournemouth Hospital’s ‘Jigsaw Building’, housing cancer treatment facilities and a new Women’s Health Unit opened in 2015. As part of the interior design, expansive wall murals featuring familiar seaside scenes were specified for key locations within the hospital. Drawing on over 20 years of experience installing operable walls, Style was recently challenged to come up with a solution to divide a large meeting area, despite there being no suitable structure in the ceiling to utilise as a fixing point. After some lateral thinking and close communication with the client, a non-structural timber frame was created for support, with the weight of the folding wall being transferred to the ground via a surface mounted floor track. These where installed by our installation partner UK Acoustic SystemsThe WoodTec Wall Slats are based on a fibre gypsum board which has excellent properties regarding both fire safety and acoustics. The slats are less sensitive to changes in temperature and humidity which results in 100% straight aligned slats over their full lifetime.

The BriefFoley Building Contractors were working on a project at the hospital which is run by the Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. Part of their works required several canopies to provide shade and shelter for their patients and visitors whilst queueing outside due to the social distancing measures that were in place. Because the summer had come to an end and the wintery weather was on the way, these canopies were needed with a quick turnaround.The SolutionJust a couple of days after the initial enquiry, we were on site conducting a site survey to enable us to provide the contractor with a firm quotation. We provided them with a price for four Coniston Wall Mounted Canopies; two for their Elective Care and Heart Centre and then another two for their COVID-19 testing units.

A clear first BREEAM certified public management structure where the building interior design demanded sharp attention to detail; Technowood was a clear choice. The saving on solid timber was a driving force in the decision process. Certified FSC and A2 FR were also important considerations when compared to sold timber. Furthermore, BREEAM-BESPOKE criteria were used in this project and BRE-GLOBAL prepared tailor-made criteria directly to the specific building type.Turkey’s first BREEAM certified building will be public; this project is expected to bring a lot of innovation including environmental sensitivity. Thus, it is foreseen that similar criteria will be applied in the future construction in the development region.Further, the main features of this project are a passive air conditioning system and natural lighting, double wall and gallery, economical water usage, recyclability of the material where possible. The enviro-friendly green roof and environment considerate plant preferences.Technowood satisfied all build requirements, the planning was especially happy with the aesthetics of such a diverse material. Invisibly fixed vertical columns solved the solution of the curved nature of the design; as well as the speed of installation which made the use of this wood finished product even more cost effective.Technowood is environmentally friendly, efficient to fit, FSC, A2 FR. The BriefPG Marshall and Sons Ltd. were working on a project at St Helier Hospital for Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. They were relocating the Davis (outpatient) unit which included a portable building that required weather protection over the disability access ramp and pathway leading to the unit.They also needed the canopy to connect the Davis Unit to Ferguson House (the main building), which already had a small cantilevered canopy that the hospital trust were keen to keep in place.The SolutionThe two buildings that required connecting via a canopy had a fairly awkward space in between due to the buildings not being equally parallel to one another. Following the original design drawings, it was clear that the perfect solution would be the popular Coniston Wall Mounted Canopy.

THE PROJECTLondon City Island is a high-end residential and commercial neighbourhood development that takes inspiration from the very best of global metropolitan communities; combining bold architecture and pioneering urban design.The development is located in an extremely well-connected site between the financial might of Canary Wharf and trendy East London. We are once again delighted to be involved within this vibrant new and exciting site.THE PRODUCTThe London City Island development is split over a number of differences phases and blocks, with each development having a slightly different requirement and specification for mailboxes. A number of different mailbox models were used on the project, to match the different design finishes of each phase of the development.Our horizontal fire rated 2 mailboxes were used on two phases where there was a specific requirement for a post box to meet a Class 0 Part 22 1 hour integrity only fire rating. The first bank of mailboxes are wall recessed and fitted with a surrounding trim to provide the mailboxes with a clean finish from the mailbox to the installation wall. This bank of mailboxes were assembled into a configuration of 9 high x 9 wide prior to despatch, allowing easy installation once on site. The mailboxes have been finished in a non-standard colour (D2525-Y2217 matt) and engraved on the inward-sprung flap with an apartment number in a contrasting jet black colour.The second bank of fire rated 2 mailboxes also conformed to Part 22 fire rating standards. This bank was configured into a bank of 4 high x 6 wide mailboxes, finished in a standard colour chosen from the RAL colour chart and engraved in a contrasting white engraving on the inward-sprung flap.The third bank of mailboxes is located in a dedicated mailroom, wall recessed to maximise room for residents and mail delivery personnel to use the mailboxes. As is common practice with all wall recessed mailboxes, these banks of post boxes have also been fitted with a surrounding trim, ensuring the highest finish quality is achieved on the development.Also used on the project were the MODA mailboxes in the horizontal orientation with a width of 260mm. The MODA mailbox is popular with clients requiring a versatile and attractive product particularly useful for multi-coloured and multi-sized arrangements. This phase of the London City Island development shows how the MODA mailbox can be used in a more straightforward manner with a classic bank of wall recessed mailboxes finish in a single colour. Each mailbox has been engraving on the opening flap, infilled in a contrasting silver colour finish.All mailboxes on this development are in front / out front, allowing for mail to delivered and retrieved through the front face.

Lang+Fulton products were used extensively at The Emirates Stadium for Arsenal FC as barrier fencing, security screening, balustrading and wall cladding. The Arezzo-25 fence panels with a 76x25mm aperture were supplied with the flat bars running horizontally in order to take a loading requirement of BS6399 – 1:1996. This guaranteed its suitability for use as a barrier fence for the crowd control areas surrounding the Emirates. Alternative fixing methods combined with the versatility of the panels created continuity of design throughout the varied applications within the project.

Future-proofing their offices in the prestigious Circle Square development of Manchester, partitioning experts Style combined three Dorma Hüppe Variflex moveable walls, allowing either a small meeting room with separate breakout area to be created, or one single open-plan space. Two of the walls are fully glazed, maintaining natural light throughout, whilst the third is finished with Kvadrat fabric class C absorption panels offset by a practical whiteboard surface to the mid-section. Allowing easy access between separated areas, both glass moveable walls incorporate pass doors.With a 52dB rating on the glazed systems and 55dB on the solid moveable wall, meetings and events can take place undisturbed, delivering a stylish yet adaptable meeting solution.Relocating from Trafford Park, Hilti moved its 200-strong team into the second, third and fourth floors of No.1 Circle Square, taking 42,000 sq ft of premium office space. As part of the internal redevelopment, Style worked with main contractor, Cubic Works, and architect, TP Bennett, to create flexible space in the meeting and innovation suite.“This is a clever arrangement of three moveable walls that allow the space to be quickly adapted to accommodate the events or meetings taking place on any given day,” said Andy Gibson, Style’s director for the North.“Thanks to the high-end acoustic ratings of both the glass and solid moveable walls, meetings can be enjoyed without interference, and the combination of absorption panels and writeable whiteboards make the perfect environment for business meetings, training sessions and brainstorms.”Style is the exclusive UK partner to Dorma Hüppe, Skyfold and SWG offering an extensive range of moveable, folding and partitioning walls for all requirements and budgets.

Rushcliffe Oaks is a new crematorium situated in open countryside in Nottinghamshire. Partitioning specialist, Style worked with contractor, A&S Enterprises to increase the functionality of the space between entrance lobby and the chapel.A Dorma Hüppe Variflex semi-automatic glass moveable wall was chosen as the best option, allowing the chapel to be quickly closed off from the main entrance area whenever a funeral is in progress. Minimising possible disturbance, Variflex delivers an impressive 50dB acoustic rating, with further privacy being offered by the inclusion of automatic blinds that are integrated into the individual glass panels.Providing a sensitive and calming space to remember loved ones and say goodbye in a peaceful and tranquil setting, Rushcliffe Oak Crematorium is set in beautifully landscaped grounds. The environmentally conscious facility uses renewable energy sources and is one of the first in the country to invest in innovative all-electric technologies.Contributing to the facility’s drive for a low carbon footprint, the Dorma Hüppe Variflex moveable wall has an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804, making it a highly sustainable solution.“This is a perfect example of where a moveable wall can add so much more to a room than simply dividing the space,” said Steve Williams, Style’s sales director for the Midlands.“When not in use, the moveable wall can be stacked neatly away creating a large, open plan area. However, when in situ it plays an important role in ensuring ceremonies benefit from maximum privacy, helping to create an environment that is peaceful and free from outside disturbance.To ensure the room is fully accessible, Style increased the height of the pass door in the moveable wall to 2400mm, enabling a coffin to be easily manoeuvred into the chapel.

Working with architects, BDP Glasgow Studio and main contractor, Balfour Beatty, Style was specified to create flexible space in both the auditorium and one of the main classrooms in Strathclyde University’s £60 million new Learning & Teaching Building. In the tiered auditorium, a Skyfold Zenith stepped moveable wall was the ideal solution. Offering an outstanding 59dB acoustic rating and descending from the ceiling at the push of a button, the vertically rising moveable wall offers a unique ‘thin path of travel’ which means it can descend into tight spaces, in this case the narrow gap between the seating. In the main classroom, a Dorma Hüppe Variflex moveable wall offers a 56dB acoustic rating and its semi-automatic operation means the acoustic seals are applied to the correct pressure to maximise the effectiveness of this operable wall. “We were delighted to have been specified to add adaptability to key areas of this iconic building,” said David Louden, Style’s director for Scotland, “particularly as we also previously installed a Skyfold at the University of Glasgow as well, which means we have been the chosen provider for both of the city’s universities. “It reinforces our position as the market-leading moveable partition and folding wall specialist in Scotland, and across the whole of the UK. “The Skyfold looks fabulous in situ, with clean, white panels and is a real showcase for the University, and the classic laminate white finish on the Variflex complements the styling of the main classroom perfectly."Built with a sharp focus on sustainability, the Learning & Teaching Building was created through the refurbishment and integration of two existing buildings – the Colville Building and the Category B-listed Architecture Building. It is a collective space for all students and staff, comprising a variety of first-class learning and teaching facilities.
