External seating for the regeneration of Heston Park

Furnitubes supplied a number of seating products to the regeneration of Heston Park with each product chosen to complement the different character areas within the park. Zenith picnic benches and tables were installed adjacent to the new swimming pool to offer external dining space for leisure centre visitors, with views out over the park. In the park itself, traditionally-styled New Forest seats and benches have been used, together with Core concrete tables and seating blocks in selected areas that also contained table tennis tables and play equipment.

Furnitubes' RailRoad design was the perfect choice for the roof-top of award-winning apartments Green Dragon House, with its modular design allowing seating and planters to be linked to create large structures that can be left freestanding, without the need to bolt down. The RailRoad products were complemented by the use of the Hollo range coffee tables, and a bespoke dining table with Hollo stools completed the suite of products supplied.

Their Octagon Centre provides a range of services that meets the many needs of the community which includes floor space for the Goodwin Table Tennis Club (GTTC) to practice and play on. Providing a suitable playing surface for the GTTC would involve a local flooring installer supplying 300m2 of top-quality flooring from international flooring specialist Gerflor. It would prove to be an ideal project perfectly suited to Gerflor’s world-renowned Taraflex® Table Tennis Floor.

Situated just 10 short metres from the beach at Perranporth in Cornwall, The Dunes was a 14-month project challenged with unforgiving coastal weather and high expectations in terms of quality workmanship. Comprising 36 contemporary beachfront properties, the luxury development, completed features unobstructed views of the Atlantic. To withstand the South coast’s often extreme wind and rain, while matching the luxury aesthetic of the build a robust but aesthic solution was needed. Sika Sarnafil’s single ply membrane was specified as the solution and to also ensure a high-quality and cost-effective finish was provided.

Luxury decking solution for spa alfresco dining area

A luxury spa in Berkshire was looking to convert their terrace into an appealing dining area. The management needed a beautiful solution with minimum disruption, as the outdoor dining area was able to stay open to the public during construction. Duro Excellence EasyClick System was installed in colours denim and moor oak. The aluminium rail system was the perfect frame for the outdoor area’s low threshold. The boards simply clip down into place, ensuring swift, trouble-free installation. It was essential that the boards were not screwed through the surface, as customers were walking barefoot.

The Diving Bell, Dublin

The Diving Bell was a refurbishment of a wet bell also known as a diving bell. Although it was a small project, the perforated panels have a dominant presence at Sir Rogerson's Quay, Dublin. The old orange metal bell stood forgotten its refurbishment is now a small attraction celebrating its history, giving an insight into life in this part of town, its name proudly perforated in 47.1m2 stainless steel. Graepels are delighted to have worked on such an important piece of maritime heritage that was key to buildings Dublins quay walls over the 87 years.

Polysafe Verona PUR brightens up school dining experience

Polysafe Verona in the fresh hue of Summer Coulis has been used in serving and dining areas of the school refectory, adding a bright and uplifting feel to the dining hall. Specified by main contractor H Bell & Sons (Rochdale) Ltd and installed by Winton Flooring in Manchester, the flooring creates a welcoming and relaxing environment, suitable for pupils during lunch breaks.

Offering flexible dining, Style installed a semi-automatic Dorma Hüppe Variflex moveable wall, allowing an exclusive room for up to 35 guests to be quickly created. With the Variflex system delivering 38dB Rw acoustic integrity, the private guests can enjoy an intimate experience in the sectioned off room, while the rest of the bar and restaurant operates as normal. The panel facings have a simple priming sheet finish, allowing the restaurant to decorate them with their own flamboyantly Asian-themed graphics,

Polysafe Verona adds flavour to The Sutton Academy dining hall

A combination of Polyflor’s Polysafe Verona PUR vinyl safety flooring in two complementary and stylish shades has been used to help create an eye-catching dining hall for pupils at The Sutton Academy in St Helens. As part of a major refurbishment project at the school, over 400m2 of Polysafe Verona PUR flooring was installed throughout the dining and seating areas where pupils relax and have fun during break times. Verona flooring in Biscotti and Dolphin Grey shades was used to create a neutral backdrop.

Expona Flow flooring adds impact to school dining hall

Expona Flow PUR sheet vinyl flooring from Polyflor was chosen by Broad Oak Primary School in Didsbury, Manchester as a hard wearing flooring option that would smarten up their dining area and give years of performance in this high traffic area. The eye catching Reclaimed Chevron 9830 design from the Expona Flow PUR range was installed by Manchester based Barratt & Hughes flooring contractors in the school’s canteen area. With an inbuilt herringbone pattern, this Reclaimed Chevron design was chosen to complement the old parquet flooring in the school’s assembly hall.

Polyflor Affinity255 delights diners at Enfields Kitchen

Hard wearing luxury vinyl tiles from Polyflor’s Affinity255 PUR collection of high-design wood effect flooring were recently chosen for the refurbishment of Enfields Kitchen, a student run restaurant at Gateshead College. Affinity255 PUR luxury vinyl tiles in the popular Huckleberry Oak design were installed by local flooring contractor Floorstyles-Direct in the restaurant’s dining area. Situated at Gateshead College’s Baltic campus, Enfields Kitchen is a contemporary restaurant where all the food is made and served by students enrolled in the college’s hospitality and catering courses.

REHAU TABS AT NEW TATE MODERN BUILDING

The Thermally Activated Building Structure (TABS) is at the heart of newly opened extension to Tate Modern. The new building with its distinctive perforated brick lattice façade was designed by architects Herzog & de Meuron The TABS concrete core tempering solution effectively transforms the slabs into huge thermal stores for cooling the gallery space. Groundwater is being used to circulate through the pipework to optimise the sustainability of the installation. Scoring a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating, the new building is predicted to use 50% less energy than a typical gallery. Generating 44% less carbon than current building regulations demand.

Polyflor vinyl tiles help add retro edge to diner

A variety of commercial vinyl tile products from Polyflor were chosen to create a retro inspired interior design scheme for Nelson’s Diner in Newbury, Berkshire. Approximately 300m² of Polyflor flooring was installed by The Hull Flooring Company Limited at Nelson’s Diner in Kennet Shopping Centre. The refurbishment project was led by BMS Limited. Expona Bevel Line tiles in Portland Stone and Expona Commercial luxury vinyl tiles in Light Grey Concrete and Black Matrix were fitted around the booth and bar seating area. Polyflex Plus were used to create a chequerboard pattern floor in the middle of the diner

The Chef's Table at The Chef's Market, London Heathrow Marriott Hotel, is a perfect example of how Digimura 2.1 Wallcovering can be used to completely transform an area. Here, real fruit, vegetables & olive oils, have been used to compliment those within the digitally printed image. In addition, the colourisation of selected elements within the monochrome image, transforms the area into an almost 3D environment; which make the space look much bigger than it really is. Crown Paints Specification Services support for tall order

A Suffolk-based local authority turned to Crown Paints Specification Services to transform the tallest building in the most easterly settlement of the UK. St. Peter’s Court – in the coastal town of Lowestoft, Suffolk – was in need of re-decoration and Waveney District Council wanted a product that would last for the long-term. Crown Paints came out to the site, which comprises of 90 flats over 15 floors, and after an extensive inspection and review of requirements, specified 3,600 litres of Sandtex Trade 365 All Weather Masonry Paint for the project.

The Barneycraig Lead mine located in the North Pennines operated between 1760-1920. Due to mine tailings being deposited on the River West Allen it became the second worst river by Northumbria River Basin Management. A plan to improve the river meant the tailings needed to be capped to prevent rain water infiltration. Stabilisation of the dam was also required. ABG proposed Pozidrain 4SKL, this provided a rapidly installed single layer system without compriising on containment. Erosaweb GWX was used on the 1:2.5 slope for soil reinforcement and this was fixed with a non piercing fixing solution.

Appreciating the recent trend of industrial style steel screens being incorporated in modern interiors, Cherie Lee, Director of Cherie Lee Interiors, chose to include the look within one of her latest amazing projects. The Clement W20 suite of steel frames in RAL 7021 black grey (matt) was chosen as the correct product and colour to complement the décor. The use of steel screens internally allows maximum solar gain and adds a striking feature. The result is stunning and the client is very happy with the final result.

History and Future meet with metal accents at the Tin Tab

CAD visualizations were essential at design stage to help visualize the unique bar designs made up of a traditional 35mm bar and the client was delighted with the finished design which matched the original windows, and the overall quality of finish. All bars were designed to ensure the correct glazing pane sizes to transform this unique corrugated metal building. Satin chrome ironmongery was the perfect choice to mimic the distinct metal accent of the exterior.

Resembling a needle, Europe’s tallest building spirals 462 meters into the sky. The ,Star of St. Petersburg?, as the building is already being called, occupies a 170,000 m² footprint on the shores of the Gulf of Finland in the Primorsky District, some 10 km northwest of St. Petersburg’s city center. Designed by the RMJM partnership under Tony Kettle’s direction, the project was managed by ZAO Gorprojekt; and the work planned by Samsung Production.

The Wroxham Bridge American Restaurant is a recently renovated family eatery with an interior design scheme and cuisine reminiscent of a classic American diner. Located on the riverside, the restaurant features Karndean’s Opus Nero and Luna in a chequerboard design to complete the monochrome décor of the upstairs milkshake parlour, as well as the subtly limed tones of Korlok Baltic Mistral Oak throughout the main dining areas.

The bulthaup b3 kitchen in this Chelsea Town House blends anodised aluminium units in sand beige for the base cabinets with rough-sawn oak, white stained tall cabinets to give a warm, calm aesthetic. The kitchen opens to a dining living space which leads on to the garden via glazed sliding doors. Worktops are composite stone and the appliances are by Gaggenau. The owner of this apartment in a historic 1930s building in Baker Street chose bulthaup b3 kitchen furniture in stainless and anthracite aluminium. The striking run of stainless steel tall cabinets on the rear wall was designed around several structural and mechanical features, to provide a sleek clean line, housing the Miele appliances and a hidden pocket door in the centre. This bulthaup b3 kitchen in a chic, Knightsbridge penthouse incorporates a smart dining space for entertaining. Matt lacquer in Kaolin was chosen for the island and tall furniture to allow for a light fresh aesthetic. Pocket doors conceal all of the functional storage and appliances so they are out of sight but handy when needed. The rough-sawn, oak furniture on the rear wall is suspended from the b3 framework so that it 'floats' above the floor - our designer worked closely with Lab Architects on detailing the porcelain feature wall cladding around the structure. Baltic Triangle in Liverpool is part of a £100m development scheme, combining 308 individual apartments, gym, communal meeting areas, commercial floor space, receptions as well as parking and an external picnic area. The buildings are a stone's throw away from the famous World Heritage Site, Royal Albert Dock. The brief for the external picnic area was to design seating and tables to reflect Liverpool’s industrial heritage. Artform recommended the Spencer Litter Bin and the Pic-Nic Table & Bench for their contemporary finish in corten steel. The table and bench ends incorporated bespoke laser cutting elements into the design.

We put forward flex tables that would work anywhere and provide adaptable configurations. Mott MacDonald were also keen to demonstrate their environmental commitment with strong SKA and BREEAM ratings for sustainability so Wiesner-Hager suggested the flex table to deliver the most sustainable solution.
