Metal Cladding of Commercial Building Coated with Noxyde

The metal cladding of this manufacturing plant were decorated and protected with 2 layers of Noxyde. Noxyde is C5-M approved, making it the ultimate anti-corrosive coating for metal, even in harsh environments. Because it's waterbased, it is also environmentally friendly. Noxyde is very easy to apply: it's a singlepack product. Surface preparation: we recommend at least SA2 blasting.

Accoya cladding at Geosouthern Energy’s corporate headquarters


Accoya selected for the renovation of the GeoSouthern Energy’s corporate headquarters. Distributed by Mason’s Mill & lumber, the Accoya cladding was milled into a Vanish Rain Screen profile with a walnut stain for the exterior of the building. Various sizes of Accoya were used ranging widths between 5”-8”. In total 80 m3 of Accoya was used for the project. Accoya was chosen due to its stability & durability making it the perfect fit for designers Kirksey.

In addition to the exterior façade cladding, Millworks developed and manufactured over 700m2 of internal cladding. Welsh Slate has been specified for its aesthetics and robustness, for the roof and innovative cladding of a ground-breaking new hospice. The £21 million Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park features Welsh Slate’s Penrhyn Heather Blue Celtic grade 270mm x 180mm roof slates which are complemented by a cladding veneer of the same colour over a total of 1,400m2 of the outer façade layer of ‘protective’ eaves and bedroom terraces.

Few people realise that it is possible to clad old stairs with our engineered herringbone parquet floors. It is a specialist skill and you should only employ trusted professionals who have the specialist equipment. The parquet blocks used here are unfinished so that you get perfect square edges. They are then oiled after all other works are completed so that you get your perfect floor. There is no separate stair nose piece as the top layer of solid Oak is a good 4mm thick and this allows the fitters to create an accurate mitre join.

Accoya vertical cladding for the Tintra footbridge, Norway


Accoya was chosen as the ideal material for the vertical cladding on a footbridge in Vossenvangen, Norway. Maintenance was an integral issue during the pre-planning & construction. Combining strength, durability and minimal maintenance over the years, Accoya wood was the natural choice for Rintala Eggertsson Architects. Constructed by IKM Steel & Facade, the project also won the Architizer A+ Award in the Transportation and Infrastructure category. Two other category winning projects included; The Royal Arena, Denmark (Jury Winner in the Sport and Recreation category) and City Hall Venlo, Netherlands (Jury and Popular Choice Winner in the Institutional-Government & Municipal Buildings category).

Accoya cladding on Pipers Corner School, High Wycombe


Accoya was selected as the ideal material to clad the new Performing Arts Centre for Pipers Corner School, High Wycombe. Over 1200 m2 of Accoya cladding, soffits and trims were used throughout the project for phase 1 of the build. Designed by Nichols Brown Webber Architects and Landscape Planners, Accoya was chosen due to its Class 1 durability and low maintenance upkeep. Accoya was also used due to its sustainability credentials as the building has been targeted to achieve a BREEAM ‘very good’ rating.

Brimstone ash cladding chosen for passivhaus development

As an experienced project manager, Alex has considerable experience of timber frame projects. His design was for a 3000sq-ft house built to passivhaus standards. The design also featured extensive exterior cladding. Sustainability became an increasing focus as the project progressed. It was this focus that led to the use of Brimstone ash as Alex felt uncomfortable specifying alternatives that were sourced and transported vast distances. In total, 3000 linear metres of Brimstone were used . “I like the grain of Brimstone,” explains Alex Clifford. “The alternative I originally considered had straight grain, but I wanted something more patterned and interesting.”

Accoya cladding for West Lodge Primary School, UK


After extensive consultation with all involved, the design they created to achieve this involved an eye-catching arrangement of Russwood’s factory-coated Accoya cladding. Edd Rushton, the architect in charge of the project said, “Painted Accoya profiles provided a durable and cost-effective way of bringing new life to a tired 1970’s façade and creating a vibrant new public face for the school. Russwood supplied pre-coated Accoya cladding panels, as well as thicker profiles used in the louvred sun-screen, and offered specification and detailing advice throughout the project.”

Cedar cladding, the ideal choice for luxury eco-home in Dorset

Fir view is a new-build luxury eco-house set in a wooded area on the Devon Dorset border. Architects Mark Camillin and Liam Denny had a vision for a contemporary design that blended sympathetically with the area of natural beauty within which the plot is set. Getting the exterior facade right was of great importance to them and the authorities and all parties settled on cedar cladding as the ideal option. Mark and Liam decided on vertical halflap cladding and selected our air dried Canadian cedar cladding because of the lack of knots and stability.

WMOR Architects completely redesigned the ground floor to include a flexible living area to open into the garden. Accoya was chosen as the ideal material for the extension because of it aesthetic appearance as well as its ability to provide better insulation than other materials. & the owners wanted to use the most sustainable material they could. The Accoya extension which houses the show piece kitchen will be left to weather naturally and match the pale grey flooring. This was specifically designed so that in the summer, when the sliding door completely opens, the interior & exterior space will merge seamlessly.

Accoya cladding for residence in McCormacks Bay, New Zealand


Accoya was chosen for its long-lasting benefits which are required for demanding coastal settings such as these. Accoya was also selected as the ideal weatherboard material for the Christchurch residence due to its exterior, above ground guarantee of 50 years. Accoya wood was used for all the Bevelback weatherboards which clad the building and are finished using black Dulux matt paint. Accoya was selected as the perfect fit for this type of weatherboarding, which is renowned to combine stability and durability in every project.

Premier Inn - Walsall Waterfront

In 2012 the town of Walsall underwent a major regeneration. The Waterfront North site was developed and was based on 2.2 acres of brownfield land, where more than 300 homes and apartments, as well as a Premier Inn hotel were to be constructed. RCM were appointed by Whitbread to provide Y-wall, an advanced flexible calcium, silicate based fibre cement building board, for the construction of the Premier Inn. This was to be used as an external sheathing board, covering the structural steel frame, infilled with SFS steel.

Rathbone Market, Canning Town

Rathbone Market is one of six schemes in the UK that has been delivered by English Cities fund (ECf), a regeneration partnership between Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), Muse Developments and Legal and General. Part of the 680,000 sq ft Canning Town & Custom House regeneration area programme, Rathbone Market was designed by Project Orange and formed the third and final phase of the entire development. Continuing its long-standing relationship with John Sisk and Son, one of the main contractors to the programme, RCM supplied a whole host of products for the successful development of the project.

Moneypenny engaged the help of AEW architects to design a new and exciting office environment. With space to house 1,000 staff, Moneypenny wanted to have a new headquarters, which were both efficient office spaces, as well as a great environment for its staff to operate in. In turn, Pochin asked RCM to supply its 12mm Cemboard to the construction, because of the building board’s excellent acoustic properties, which were a major consideration for the construction of the call-centre.

University of West England - Bristol

The University of West England has added high-quality accommodation to its Frenchay campus. The buildings on Coldharbour Lane consist of townhouse-style accommodation and 23 self- contained flats. RCM were appointed by Unique Envelope Façade Solutions to supply over 1,000m2 of Rockpanel Metallics in order to add a special effect façade to the timber frame buildings.

Hotel La Tour - Birmingham

Plans were passed in 2012 for the construction of an outstanding hotel in Birmingham city centre. The build was the first in a group of five, four-star hotels planned to open over a period of five years under the Hotel La Tour brand. The 174 – bedroomed luxury hotel was developed at a cost of £24 million and comprises a restaurant, bar with terrace and conference facilities. RCM’s Cemboard was used as a primary sheathing board on the project

NHS Langdon Hospital - Dawlish

In January 2008, the Devon Partnership NHS Foundation Trust approved plans for a major redevelopment of the Langdon Hospital site based in Dawlish. RCM were appointed by the NHS to provide the Renderflex building board – a high performance cellulose fibre cement render carrier board and Y-Wall – a calcium silicate board on the inner leaf of the wall construction. The client specified robust walls in all areas, especially within the patient wards, which made RCM’s boards ideal for the project.

RCM were appointed by GAP Ltd to supply their Supertech Weatherboard in an Ebony stain finish to enhance the exterior appearance of these new-build exclusive homes.

ROCKPANEL façade cladding contributes to revamping Manchester skyline


Four 1960’s council blocks were extensively refurbished in Collyhurst, both inside and out. Northwards Housing collaborated with main contractors Manchester Working Ltd on the ambitious retrofit, including structural repairs and the fitting of new windows, ROCKWOOL insulation and ROCKPANEL façade cladding. The ROCKPANEL Chameleon façade boards which seamlessly change colour depending on the angle of view or level of natural light were installed on two sides of the 13 storey blocks. The boards were not solely specified for the aesthetic benefits its products can offer, but also their sustainable credentials.
