Featuring the UK’s longest indoor real-snow ski slope, Soar at Intu Braehead is Scotland’s largest retail and leisure complex, attracting up to 17 million people every year. Construction Specialties were asked to provide an expansive entrance mat for the centre’s main entrance. The chosen product was CS’ Pediluxe entrance mat with Platinum covered exterior grade carpet inserts. They have stronger bristle than interior grade carpet inserts, assuring dirt and moisture is effectively removed from the soles of shoes. This enormous entrance mat strongly protects interior floor surfaces and maintenance budgets from foot and wheeled traffic.

Disley Methodist Church in Stockport contact CPS about creating a small bespoke stage. There were 9 Alu Rapid staging platforms provided with some bespoke platforms. A wood communion rail, veneered risers and a carpeted surface was also provided with the church's stage.

This prestigious residential development in Knightsbridge demanded the highest specification for all trades. New Era Acoustic cradle system was specified to conform to Document E regulation. The floor height was 125-165mm using a 46mm batten at 400mm centres with a 22mm T&G plywood glued and screwed to the battens. Hill House School Staging and Demountable Seating

Private school, Hill House School in Doncaster requested two staging systems from CPS. One stage was used as the performance stage with a full curtain, lighting and sound system as well as cost-effective black Alu Rapid staging platforms. The other stage was to be used as demountable tiered spectator seating including carpeted Alu Rapid platforms to reduce audience noise levels and handrails on each side.

Connection in a joint partnership with Interface have opened a showroom in the heart of Manchester. Innovative commercial furniture designer and manufacturer, Connection, joined forces with carpet tile producer, Interface, to reveal their showroom in the historic Law Library. The stunning building was built between 1884 and 1885 and acted as a meeting space and reading room for the Manchester Law Society. The new display area is based on the ground floor, with the upper floors still contains books, keeping the library alive.

St Mark Church Dais Staging

CPS worked with the vicar and churchwarden at St Mark in the Salisbury to provide a new church dais. Seven Alu Rapid platforms and eight custom staging platforms were manufactured and installed. The custom platforms bridged the chancel steps and fit around the church pillars. There were also two bespoke Alu Rapid ramps and timber steps installed. The staging platforms were covered in Heckmondwike Supacord carpet which fitted around the electrical socket boxes.

FlexStep at St. Aidan's School in the UK

The hallways are broad and the traffic is heavy at the stairs at St. Aidan's Primary School in Scotland, UK. To create a coherent and functional solution to meet those needs a FlexStep lifting platform and an identical fixed staircase were put into production. The steps are covered with carpet like the rest of the floors at the school - a small feature that makes the FlexStep an invisible state of the art product. The school needed the broad staircases as well so a fixed staircase was built next to the FlexStep in the exact same design as the FlexStep.

Altro Orchestra looks the part in eye clinic

Torbay Hospital is South Devon’s main hospital. The eye clinic at the hospital required a floor refurbishment as the old carpet floor tiles were no longer suitable. The hospital needed a floor in blue to complement adjacent finishes. Altro met with the ward and building supervisors to discuss floor options. The Estates Building Supervisor worked closely with and was fully supported by Altro to choose the right product for the clinic. It was decided to use Altro Orchestra in ‘Bassoon’ and ‘Soul’ and helped the hospital to create a design for the eye clinic.

PROJECT OVERVIEW With rapid growth, Gideon Hausner had a desperate need to expand their facilities. The lack of gymnasium/theater space prevented the school from hosting their own home games and productions. SOLUTION The platforms feature self-storing side rails and removable front rails, both with tinted acrylic infill panels, as well as twist & store P rails in the aisles. The platform decks are carpeted as standard and the system features laminate fascias to improve the appearance of the unit when closed.

GRAHAM construction specified a number of Howe Green’s 5000 Series Floor Access Covers for the £19 million refurbishment of Lews Castle. The light duty aluminium covers were specified to provide access to underfloor services, located within the corridors on the first floor of the castle. The covers were specified with a brass edge, giving a high level of aesthetic appeal, and then infilled with carpet or ceramic tiles depending on their location. The brass show edge is continuously secured which means there are no fasteners to rust or break.

The residential school, in the hamlet of Peters Marland, just outside Great Torrington, offers residential provision for Year 6 to Year 11 male students from across Devon. The boys who attend have either a statement of special education needs or an education, health and care plan for social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The primary role of the school’s residential facility is to provide a safe, rewarding, and positive environment and they needed to build an additional building and refurbish existing residential facilities to achieve this. The school looked to danfloor to supply the carpet.

This wonderful grade II listed building on the Strand, London is the former home of the BBC World Service, and now serves as a beautiful conference space for Kings College London. Audience Systems’ retractable seating system includes high specification Espace 628 chairs, with pocket sprung seats for outstanding comfort, solid oak armrests and high backrests. The retractable seating includes two “partial opening” positions for added flexibility, special carpet and elegantly trimmed steps with special nosing and LED aisle lighting. It’s a fitting level of finish for a building with an exceptionally distinguished history.

Polysafe Wood fx Acoustix PUR in American Oak was fitted in the surgery’s reception and circulation areas whilst Polysafe Standard PUR in Ash Grey was fitted in all the consulting rooms.

The Residence Nine Elms is a building that contains one, two, and three-bedroom apartments. They feature impressive views of the city with customized furnishings and a modern design. The building’s entrance and lobby contain luxurious décor. GRID Architects wanted to have an appropriate area in this part of the building for strong entrance matting to stop the visibility of dirt and water. CS’ Pediluxe entrance matting was chosen with colours Wrought Iron (Dark Grey) and Castle Grey (Light Grey) interior carpet inserts to prevent an extreme effect against the clear stone floor and brickwork in the lobby.

When a branch of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) moved in to share the existing office of Ashfield District Council, the space needed a refurbishment to facilitate an efficient co-working space. The design was crucial to create zones for each organisation, while still maintaining an open plan layout. The flooring was a key aspect of this and global modular flooring manufacturer, Interface, provided a range of its latest products to create a striking design. The space was redesigned using Interface’s modular carpet tiles and its more recently launched luxury vinyl tile (LVT) range

Polyflor’s Affinity255 flooring is picture perfect at Redhouse arts and cultural centre

Luxury vinyl tile flooring from Polyflor was used to help give a fresh new look to JOL’s café at Redhouse arts and cultural centre in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales. Wood effect Affinity255 PUR luxury vinyl tile flooring was installed by local flooring contractor Kevin Hamer Carpets as part of Merthyr Tydfil Housing Association’s project to refurbish parts of Redhouse, an arts, cultural and creative industries centre. With its rich hues and authentic grain detail, the popular Huckleberry Oak design was chosen for installation in the JOL’s café area and throughout refurbished gallery spaces.

St Bernadette’s Eco-Friendly School, Scotland

79 of Howe Green’s 7500 Series aluminium access covers were specified for Eco-Friendly primary school, St Bernadette’s in Antonshill. Council architects required a solution to access essential services housed in raised flooring including the school’s sprinkler network, hot and cold water supplies and electric and data cabling. The covers were installed by A. Andrews and Sons to cover a continuous run of 75 metres of floor space with additional multipart units also fitted onto adjoining legs. The access covers were designed to be in-filled with industrial grade carpet to match the surrounding area.

M&M World, London

Howe Green

AEM Demolition undertook the heavy side building works of the 35,000 square feet M&M World in London. AEM required an access solution to provide reliable, durable and easy access to the building’s underfloor services. Howe Green’s 5000 Series Stainless Steel access covers were selected. The covers were installed in a range of different internal areas as well as with a wide variety of different types of flooring, including bright red resin, painted concrete and carpet. Designed and built to withstand the pressures of high volume pedestrian traffic, the covers have a 1 hour fire rating.

Expona installed at Envie student coffee shop

Heavy commercial luxury vinyl tile flooring from Polyflor’s Expona Commercial PUR collection was used to create a modern coffee shop for the students living at the new Envie Student apartments in Ottawa. Approximately 110m² of Expona Commercial luxury vinyl tiles in the Beige Varnished Wood design were installed throughout the coffee shop by Giant Carpet Flooring contractors. The interior design scheme was put together by Creative Friction who chose the Beige Varnished Wood design, which has the look of pseudo-industrial timber which has been stripped and varnished many times over to give a worn effect.

Expona luxury vinyl tile flooring adds a contemporary design edge to Arts centre

High design Expona luxury vinyl tiles from Polyflor were recently installed at 20-21 Visual Arts Centre in Scunthorpe to give the café area a modern new look as part of their renovation project. Situated in a grade II* listed former church, 20-21 Visual Arts Centre is a leading visitor attraction in Scunthorpe town centre which features five gallery spaces showing a range of contemporary art, design and crafts. Polyflor’s Expona Design PUR luxury vinyl tiles in the abstract Light Contour design were installed by Direct Carpets flooring contractors of Scunthorpe in the centre’s popular café.

Event Cinemas have a presence across all states of Australia, catering to the public through over 80 establishments, providing entertainment to thousands annually. With the client objectives around providing a safe and enhanced experience, Classic provided a range of products for floor safety and easy accessibility for the visually impaired. Classic’s PBC102 black anodised aluminium stair nosing for broadloom carpeted steps complete with light grey colour insert were supplied and installed across the George St. premises. Classic also installed individual stainless steel tactile indicators across all access points, making them safe and accessible to all segments of the population.
