The owner of this house wanted to build a purpose-built home to meet the needs of his growing up family.  He wanted to live in the village he grew up in but at the same time it was important that the design embraced new concepts and ideas. The end result is a stunning contemporary luxury home that incorporates large glazing areas throughout. There has been a careful use of traditional stone, wood and also unique metal cladding detail with the external design. From the earliest concept stages, this London architect wanted to be sure that his garden room extension could really be the family's main living room. As much as they loved their house as it was, they finally made the decision to redevelop mostly the back of the house. This renovation included not only a bespoke rectangular rooflight, but also custom made blinds which perfectly fit the roof window.Brightening up a 1930’s home with natural lightingA house built in the ‘30’s isn’t usually the brightest of homes. These houses often come with few or small windows which don’t allow natural lighting to fully penetrate a room, causing dark spots and corners all around the house. This is why Graham and his family wanted natural daylight to be a focal point in the renovation of their mid-century home, saying “Light was really important to make an area spacious and airy.”. This luxury home was designed to have fully concealed blinds in every window. The owners were enthusiastic to design a home that was the best to the last detail. Blinds and curtains are controlled using Lutron® and were installed using the Blindspace® concealment products. Bespoke electric curtains were included to provide softness and the fully concealed blinds were used to control the light and privacy. Through careful planning from the outset of the project, the inclusion of concealed blinds has achieved the best end result. Dark-coloured fabrics have been used where maximum visibility was desired but softer white-toned used in bath and dressing rooms. Bedrooms and media room have been supplied using dark-coloured blackout material to make a statement when used.

When a blind company was tasked with replacing the electric blinds in a popular highstreet noodle restaurant chain in St Albans, they knew they could depend on Yewdale. They chose YewdaleDefiant® C27 electric cassettes with five blinds in Light Grey 1% Roe fabric. When a Manchester blind company were tasked with fitting the blinds for the apartments in a £650 million redevelopment project in Salford, called New Bailey they had no hesitation in specifying Yewdale for the job. In the high-rise buildings, residents of luxury apartments enjoy enviable views of the city, but blinds were still needed for shade and privacy. Beautiful seaside property with a view worth waking up to and when you want to. This large feature window is approximately 3600mm wide and 4000mm high and the blinds have been skilfully concealed within the horizontal section above the opening door without closing off any of the glazing area. Grants have experience from many projects featuring bottom up blinds for gable end windows. So often the addition of a large gable creates a nightmare to find a shading solution that works.  We recommend contacting us during the detailed design stage. Plaza 13 stands on a space previously occupied by an old industrial warehouse. A residential development designed by the Bueso-Inchausti & Rein architecture studio, this 3,566m² complex comprises 14 apartments spread over four floors, four of which are penthouses with private garden and swimming pool. In order to keep a flexible interior layout, Bueso-Inchausti & Rein decided to maintain a geometric uniformity in the complex, with a facade that is almost entirely glazed, fitted with the O-Box system as a solar control solution to optimize sunlight and heat.This was an ambitious and daring project aiming to create a distinguished product with clear floor heights of 3.5m. In this context, the Bandalux outdoor O-Box roller blind systems offer a simple and elegant esthetic solution for the facade, as well as exquisite solar control to create maximum comfort inside the spacious apartments with floor-to-ceiling windows.The O-Box technical blind has an attractive cylindrical box and an aluminum side guide that binds the fabric. To fulfill the project requirements, Bandalux developed a cylindrical handrail, which limits the run of the blind and creates the impression of a floating rail.The O-Box system works like a double skin for the apartment windows, ensuring an excellent compromise between thermal efficiency and visual comfort thanks to the Polyscreen 550 Pearl fabric with a 5% openness factor. This lovely old Kensington home has been completely renovated from top to bottom including complete basement development to create a modern-day family home. The traditional style hall leads to an open plan kitchen living area with a distinctive modern feel. The Swedish owner included dual blackout/screen roller blinds to the windows and skylight, incorporated luxury Lutron® blinds, within the Blindspace® concealment system, designed and installed by Grants Blinds.

Guido House is a private project located on Majorca island, a territory influenced by sunlight and sea breeze . For that reason, architect David Domínguez Rueda selected BSO system, roller blinds, and curtains for optimal solar control .This combination of Bandalux products allows for maintaining the interior temperature throughout the year, especially thanks to the Outdoors Venetian blinds (BSO) . To link the old structure and the new one was the main challenge to this project . As a result , the extension is a minimal and curvy volumen which adapts itself to the existing building . The Opera 35 project is a boutique hotel developed as an existing building extension. Its location offers extended views over the garden and courtyard, reason why solar control solutions were required.The large windows provide plenty of natural light. Indoor curtains provide a textured effect, but do not provide the privacy that guests need.Our Arion motorized roller blinds have been chosen to protect the building's exterior. Their 5 meters high position gives dynamism to the façade without changing its style and elegance, at the same time that they guarantee an optimal solar control.The blinds have a Polyscreen® 351 fabric that offers a 10% openness factor. The Pebbles color has been chosen to match the project tones and provide an optimal optical factor.

The biggest challenge of this project was the climate conditions of the location, because of high temperatures and sunlight needs. Minimalist architecture and flexible design define the style of Casa Po, located in the Morobbia Valley. The architects designed the house with a principle of terraces, inspired by the historical vines and the mountain views.The top one is covered by a “regular, definitive and white roof, which covers the living area completely open to the panorama and orientated towards the light”, according to the architects.In this context, our O-Box roller blinds, located outdoors, help to create extra-outdoor spaces around the house. A type of in-between space is created when the shades are closed. The project, designed by Uno-A, welcomes 110 flats in three different types of buildings linked by several planted areas; and various common areas, such as a coworking space and an equipped gym.The façades use GRC (Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete) panels and coloured glass panels to provide architectural identification.Bandalux worked closely with both the architect and the real estate Iempa Immobiliare to provide shading solutions depending on the location and type of building. Le Vision is a project designed by Hubert-Godet Architectes for Nexity and handless by Foncière INEA.The building has offices where our Premium Plus roller blinds are perfectly integrated into the sloping façade for the upper levels. For a perfect use, they have been guided by cables to follow the structure.Our special contribution to this project is the Thermometal Ignis fabric due to it high percentage of reflection, helping to maintain the interior temperature. CASE: Motorised and concealed roller blinds and awnings across sliding doors

The project includes two buildings : offices, a company restaurant, and a car park . The large vertical and square openings of the award - winning Helga de Alvear Museum of Contemporary Art feature the Arion XXL roller blind for largewindows , making it possible to create a play of lights and shadows ideal for the exhibition rooms .Tecnically , the cable guides allow a perfect fastening of the fabric without creating “weight” in the design of the façade .Also, the project perfectly integrates in its surroundings, inspired by the traditional house with a garden .

The project is a loft located in Columella street in the northeast of Milan as part of 25 lofts forming the residential complex by modifying a former industrial structure.To cover its double high windows, our B-Box roller blinds are positioned on the exterior for maximum comfort and sunlight protection. They manage to provide human scale to the spaces by combining technology and functionality.The same system is used with two types of guidance. The lateral cable guide is configured with Polyscreen ® 473 in bright orange color in contrast with the planted spaces for excellent thermal protection and light textile appearance. Caribbean Blinds have been an external shading expert since 1987. based in Sudbury provide from outdoor living to solar shading, exclusively designing and UK manufacturing luxury external shading systems.Helmsman manufactured, delivered and installed 22 two compartment heavy-duty laminate with camlock locker door. The specification of the locker is 1800 high, 300 wide and 450 deep, powder coated in black and with a laminate door colour of ‘Fenix Nero’.‘Fenix Nero’ is an aesthetic style of laminate, which has low light reflectivity with a matt surface. Additionally, it has a soft touch as well as being anti-fingerprint colour.On the laminated lockers the clients decided to have an oval laminate number plate with a key, making it easy for staff to use as they will be allocated a locker and a key to keep their personal belongings secure.The bespoke lockers were designed and manufactured at Helmsman. THE PROJECTThe Bushey Heath building is the eighth development created by the Jewish Blind Association and consists of 15 one-bedroom and four two-bedroom apartments. The project cost £6.7 million and has multiple communal areas including a large roof terrace which is available to tenants. This was identified as an area which would require shading and shelter for tenants.THE CHALLENGEThe charity needed a shading solution which could be left out in heavy rain and still provide a suitable amount of shade.THE SOLUTIONTo achieve the desired 10000mm width and 5000mm projection we used the Weinor Pergotex II aluminium roof cover to protect the roof terrace area. This was designed to give residents of the Bushey Heath flats shelter from sun and rain due to the product’s unique PVC fabric panels. The addition of LED roof lighting helped residents use the area later in the evenings with spaced seating provided.

A client in Essex wanted to adorn their luxury residence with digitally printed blinds throughout. From nature to citiscape, over 30 panels were printed and suspended from the Silent Gliss panel glide system.

Jacoby Architects designed and programmed this new Salt Lake Center for the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind, a new facility providing education, therapy, and services for varying levels of sensory, behavioral, physical, and cognitive abilities. The 50,000 square foot, $14 million facility is home to a diverse list of functions containing: a full size gymnasium with indoor/outdoor performing arts capability; orientation & mobility area including climbing walls, ball pits, monkey bars, overhead balance swings, ballet bars, and balance beams; indoor clubhouses containing physical and occupational therapy training; multi-functional kitchen for vocational and life skills training, children’s dining area, and event concessions; early childhood classrooms customized for sensory disabilities; Snoezelen room (sensory/light room); enclosed courtyard with children’s playground and sensory/exploration gardens; video conferencing rooms; boardroom and advisory council area overlooking gymnasium from above with adjacent roof garden access; and of course, lots and lots of storage! Providing navigational points of reference and clear wayfinding, in and out of the building, became a necessary design concept when developing the form and selecting materials. An overall canvas of light-colored mass is highlighted with high contrast accents of bright red, illuminated features to create landmarks throughout. The building is a bright, fun, playful place for the full range of occupants including children, parents, faculty, staff, administration, researchers, and clinicians.

The problem Hitachi had came from the sun’s glare. Being a tall building with lots of large glazed areas, south-facing and with other glazed buildings around it, office workers would be subjected to long periods of sunshine. YewdaleDefiant® R20 Sidewinder roller blinds were specified with Mid Grey 3% Roe fabric. This fabric is a screen fabric that limits the glare of the sun but still lets in plenty of ambient light.
