A development of Getacore original engineered worktops comprising of 35mm MR Chipboard, 3mm Solid Surface Veneer and 10mm Thick Front edge. The client also requested colour coordinated vanity units that incorporated a coved profile and matching upstand. The project was signed off and put into development to supply a large multiple order on short lead time direct supply. Following the success,the units were deemed suitable to offer as a readily available bespoke item in all 55 Getacore decors, coved profiles are now a stock item and various basins in all colours are fabricated in house on short lead times.

The Architect choose the Spectraplan facade as a valued engineered option for cost and speed of essence of installation against his other option of Zinc standing seam Cladding.The main roof area was installed using a 159 structural deck with an 18mm ply board mech fixed to it and Spectraplan TPE fully adhered onto insulation and a self adhesive vapour barrier.

In this particularly narrow washroom layout, the Unity, full height,inline cubicle design served as a space saver. Accessed with doors on the side, rather than face on, the walls absorb the depth of the cubicle, maintaining a spacious environment. The finished washroom boasted a fresh, contemporary space which met all initial requirements. The client was particularly pleased with “the sleek look of everything”.

Bramall Lane – Sheffield United Football Club’s home – is rich in history. It remains one of the oldest grounds in the world still used for professional football. The idea of Bramall Lane came from the mind of a champion of cricket from Sheffield, Michael J. Ellison. In 1854, he was the primary driving force behind the idea of having a new first-class cricket and sporting venue for the city, giving six of the local leading clubs an enclosure to be proud of. It saw its first football match take place on 29th December 1862.

In the summer of 2007 the country witnessed extensive flooding with areas in England experiencing “over two months rainfall in just 14 hours.” Loss of water and electricity supply was experienced with thousands of homes. Providing protection against a 1 in 1000 year flood event involved building over 1 kilometer of reinforced concrete and sheet piled walls. As well as protecting the site from future flooding, the team at RHI Industrials worked in partnership with Lochrin Bain to ensure the security fencing system was fully integrated with the substations new flood defences.

Vinyl flooring from Polyflor’s safety and homogeneous flooring collections was recently installed through new facilities at Cheshunt School in Hertfordshire. Approximately 2000m² of flooring from the Mystique PUR, Prestige PUR and Polysafe Mosaic PUR ranges was fitted at the secondary school by Flortec Ltd working for construction company Beard. Ideally suited to busy education environments, Mystique PUR in Titanio was used in classrooms while Prestige PUR in Grey Marl was chosen for corridors, staircases and other circulation areas. Polysafe Mosaic PUR safety flooring in Grey Fusion was selected for use in the school’s science classrooms and toilets areas.

The Window Film Company was approached by Oxford United FC to print and install floor to ceiling graphics throughout the tunnel area at the Kassam Stadium. The graphics featured custom-created action shots of each Oxford United player and were printed onto lightweight boards using The Window Film Company’s Oce Arizona flatbed printer. Once created, the boards were installed over a two day period, the dynamic nature of the graphics completely transforming arguably the most important part of the stadium. He project ensured that the tunnel area exuded a professional and inspirational feel with an unmistakable sense of identity.

A Stannah Platform Lift is weaving tailored access throughout Whitchurch Silk Mill, a Grade II*-listed Georgian working watermill undergoing a £2.1m regeneration into a fully accessible, industrial heritage attraction. Built in 1815 and sited on the River Test near Winchester, Hampshire, this historic mill weaves silk fabrics using 19th-century machinery. One of just four working silk mills in the country, it is the only one open to visitors. As such, accessibility is key to the mill’s ongoing Preserving the Fabric project, a Heritage Lottery Fund scheme focused on the mill’s sustainable future.

When Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust commissioned Medicinq to design and build an 86 bed acute mental health inpatient unit on the site of the old Harperbury facility in Radlett, Britplas were the obvious fenestration partner for the project. The facility, which includes one vulnerable adult ward, one learning disability ward and three acute wards, required fenestration solutions to assist with the therapeutic environment, provide anti-ligature features, enhanced security to all areas without aesthetic distractions, and allow for optimum ‘safe’ natural ventilation. Our product solutions included a combination of uPVC and aluminium Safevent windows as well as glazed doors.

BriggsAmaso’s teams worked to deliver the building’s new roof roofing on behalf of client ADMK Ltd. When MCR Property Group purchased Unity Square in Liverpool, a £17m partially built student living scheme, it wanted to complete the project as quickly as possible. The specification required a non-combustible insulation solution that complied with building regulations for the acoustic insulation of internal walls and separating floors. The company needed a large quantity of insulation delivered within a very short lead time to coincide with the period when hired vehicles would be on site. With this in mind, Knauf Insulation suggested Flexible Slab, its multi-purpose Rock Mineral Wool insulation.

A new build retail premises for Majestic Wine, which used cast stone walling, quoins and copings, and these to contrast with red brick to create a striking and contemporary piece of architecture. Some of the cast stone products were rebated to create a shadow-gap effect. Working together, Procter Cast Stone and the architect developed a scheme that achieved the desired distinctive visual appearance alongside brickwork and glass, but with cast stone units that were as economical to manufacture as possible. This enabled the architect to meet the client's brief while maintaining tight control over budgets.

Delighted with the results, the design office for Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Trust commented, “Combining the continuous hinge with the Powermatic concealed door closer delivered the performance essential for fire door applications throughout the unit in an unobtrusive manner, which enabled us to create a safe and comfortable environment.”

A new SuRNICC unit at Glan Clwyd Hospital provides care for premature and sick newborn babies. The design follows the latest neonatal healthcare standards and principles of family-centred care. In clinical areas the Acrovyn impact protection range was specified. Graphics depicting trees and butterflies, incorporated into Acrovyn by Design, were fitted in cot rooms, waiting and play areas, to brighten the environment. Acrovyn Sheet was used on door faces and frames, whilst crashrails and corner guards protect corridor walls from impact damage. The comprehensive wall protection scheme ensures the interior remains attractive, damage free and easy to maintain.
