The staircase consists of 14 steps of rake balustrade on both sides, leading to gallery balustrade to side and front of the mezzanine level covering 8 metres.

Holgates Holiday Park

Spacious decks were installed on luxury holiday homes at the upmarket Holgates Caravan Park, to extend the living space and make the most of the picturesque Morecambe Bay location. FUSION® Commercial outdoor balustrade with glass panels was installed around the curved decks, which extend from and surround three of the park’s best-placed homes, overlooking steep cliffs with stunning views. In light of the location, the balustrade was an essential safety feature, over 15 glass panels were fitted around the edge of each deck. By selecting the glass panel option, the breath-taking views remain undisturbed.

A range of one and two bedroom luxury properties in Huntingdon has become the latest prestigious apartment development to feature Neaco’s contemporary balustrade systems. The four-storey complex includes extensive terrace areas with Neaco’s balustrade combining glass infill panels with aluminium stanchions and rails specified in a grey powder coated finish. In contrast to balustrade with a painted finish, which is prone to flaking, the hard-wearing powder coating ensures that the balustrade retains its aesthetic quality. It also provides low thermal conductivity to prevent handrails from becoming extremely cold to the touch in winter conditions.

Folkestone Rugby Club transformed its traditional clubhouse into a modern sports and social facility, complete with balcony viewing area. Approximately 40 metres of FUSION® Commercial outdoor balustrade were installed on the perimeter of the new balcony to provide an essential safety barrier. The glass panel system enhanced the sense of space, with minimal disruption to views of the pitch. The club’s logo was etched into the glass panels to add a bespoke finishing touch.

Maulyte Building Contractors transformed its industrial unit into a modern office suite and high specification showroom. FUSION® Commercial balustrade was installed on two flights along the entrance wall and side wall, providing access from the ground to the first floor. The staircase was a straight closed string with a straight step. The first flight consists of 6 steps, leading to a quarter turn with landing. A further 12 steps form the final flight, which finishes with a 90° turn top landing.

The Victorian gothic buildings of Royal Connaught Park have been the location for a multitude of films and television shows. The large dining hall was used as Hogwarts' Great Hall in the first three films in the Harry Potter series. Richard Burbidge Fusion Glass balustrade has been used on both the refurbishment phase of the original school and also subsequent new build phases within the grounds. FUSION® Commercial stair balustrade was installed with both glass panels and tubular metal balusters in the clubhouse to complement its high-end finish and attractive design scheme. The glass panel system was fitted on the clubhouse’s gallery landing, which overlooks the main atrium, to maximise the sense of space and create a dramatic first impression on potential buyers and visitors.

FUSION® Commercial stair balustrade was installed on all three internal staircases, which provide access from the main lobby to the facilities on the first floor, in addition it was also installed on the first floor balcony overlooking the reception area. For the main access stairwell surrounding the lift access the first flight consists of 10 steps leading to an extended half landing. A further 10 steps form the remainder of the flight and this is finished with a 90° top landing. Matching wall mounted handrail has been utilised around the external perimeter of the staircase.

Richard Burbidge has provided a bespoke FUSION curved handrail and accompanying stairparts to create a secure and stylish hallway at Trinity House Hub on Mariners’ Park in Wallasey, Merseyside. The latest addition to the Park, an Extra Care Housing scheme, opened in 2014 by The Princess Royal, provides an extra 18 apartments and communal facilities to the 95 existing properties. Stairparts specialist Richard Burbidge has supplied curved corridor handrails to the new development, mirroring the curved design of the building, as well as providing a robust Fusion Commercial stair balustrade to the communal staircase.

BUPA Oak Lodge - 71 Bed Nursing Home

Providing specialist dementia care facilities as well as a day centre for the elderly. The £5.7million development was delivered by BUPA and Southampton City Council. FUSION® Commercial stair balustrade was installed on the main staircase to provide a safe and stylish barrier. The system’s combination of minimalist oak handrails and sleek tubular balusters in a contemporary brushed nickel finish complemented the building’s modern décor and other good quality furnishings, whilst its availability off the-shelf meant there were no lengthy lead times. Richard Burbidge also supplied wall mounted handrails for installation throughout the building.

St Mellion International Resort, Cornwall

Bay Tree House is a Residential Care Home, situated in a quiet residential area near to the town of Wrexham. Orchard Care Group recently completed a major upgrade and refurbishment plan to transform the building but ultimately keep its homely feel for which it is well-known. Richard Burbidge pre primed round handrails and associated brushed nickel brackets/end caps were used throughout the home to create not only a safety conscious, but beautiful modern finish. Various decorative moulding profiles were also used to create depth and a panelled affect on plain walls.

Specification for the large feature staircase in each property included Richard Burbidge Heritage Collection large section 115mm newels, in combination with 41mm balusters, finished with an Oak moulded handrail profile. The large section newels create an impressive aesthetic and also allow the handrails to negotiate the acute changes in angle caused by the helical staircase design.

A fascinating contrast between authentic stone constructions and modern stainless steel. This apartment development is located in the middle of a leafy area and now features state-of-the-art Q-railing balustrades that empower the its natural looks. The all-glass Juliet balconies are nearly invisible, leaving the attractive stonework on full display. The Easy Glass Pro frameless balcony railings allow for beautiful views of the surroundings. The exciting geometric appearance of the bridge balustrade also has an additional special function: to carry supply lines safely across the channel. The appearance of the bridge reflects the industrial background of the area. To reflect this architectural wire mesh type DOKA-BARRETTE 8914 was used for the balustrade infill.

Improving accessibility has always been a recurring theme in the specification of Neaco’s products and so it proved again when the company’s balustrade systems were called into service for entrance ramps at Humberside Fire and Rescue Service’s new cutting-edge Hull Central Fire Station. Jefferson Sheard Architects sought to design an accessible and welcoming facility to serve the local community. Neaco’s contribution was integral to this objective with aluminium handrails and balustrade to steps and two extensive ramps at the main entrance. The system was also specified with glass infill panels for a first-floor terrace.

The 61 spacious villas of Raffles Park, a gated community in Bengaluru, India, blend contemporary design with the love of green spaces. The residences make maximum use of natural light, giving you the feeling of living amidst nature. There were clear requirements for the atrium and balcony railings. To create that feeling of being surrounded by nature, maximum transparency and a high safety level were required. The Easy Glass Slim and the rectangular shaped Easy Glass MOD 0763 glass balustrade systems were the perfect fit. Both are quick and easy to install, which means big savings during the installation process.

The design of the new University of Gibraltar building emphasises transparency and openness while retaining the integrity of the historic structure. Glazed facades and glass balustrades are positioned in striking contrast with original structures such as brick vaults. Fusing a historic fabric with modern design elements presented numerous challenges. It required close cooperation between Q-railing and the architect. In all the glass balustrade systems, they needed to achieve a demanding resistance parameter, in accordance with British Standards. Q-railing provided the Easy Glass Pro structural glass railing and constructed and tested the balustrade, certifying values required by Building Control.

In total, around 600 metres of glass balustrade were installed alongside stairs and landings. Attractive finishing touches were provided by wooden handrails and base shoes powder-coated in black.

Providing 61-bed luxury accommodation, Bridge House was designed by SS+A Architects and constructed by Marshall (Building Contractors) Ltd of Elland on behalf of the Fisher Care Group. The collaboration has delivered an exceptional scheme which maximises the elevated views from the spectacular ridge-top site. Neaco’s structural glass balustrade was specified for external terraces and the roof garden, enabling residents to take in the panoramic outlook.

Its shop was replaced by a spectacular new FanWorld, from where not only merchandise and tickets are sold, but also events are hosted and the BVB brand is experienced. The architectural design contributes to the brand experience without overpowering it. Transparency and safety are key. Q-railing’s Easy Glass Slim and Easy Glass 3kN glass balustrades were a solution for both the interior and exterior stairways and balustrades, including curved base shoes, glass and cap rails.
