Care Spaces played a crucial role in enhancing the living conditions of a private client, referred to as Mr B, who had experienced a spinal injury leading to a loss of physical independence. Collaborating with an architect to design a bespoke extension, we focused on the bedroom and bathroom to cater to his specific needs. The centrepiece of the design was an XY ceiling track hoist with a magnetic transition gate system, facilitating safe transfers between the bedroom and bathroom. Care Spaces also recommended bathroom equipment tailored to Mr B's needs, including a washer/dryer toilet, a static-height hand basin, and an Avero care bath with an air spa system for therapeutic benefits. With Mr B's approval, we oversaw the installation of the hoist system and bathroom equipment, provided necessary training, and ensure routine servicing for optimal functionality. Mr B is now delighted with his improved living space, and Care Spaces remains committed to maintaining the excellence of his care equipment.

Although we have cast iron slotted air bricks in metric sizes to perfectly engage with modern plastic ducting and periscopes, there may come a time when the installation requires imperial old patterned cast iron air bricks. Connecting these can be especially difficult which is why we've introduced these aluminium sleeves known as the metimp adapators (short for metric imperial). They are available in two sizes, single air brick size to connect up to a periscope duct and cavity wall sleeve or the double brick size for connecting to a larger wall sleeve

OverviewIn partnership with Tidyco, Powrmatic was selected to supply an energy-efficient air rotation heating system for a 5,100m2 warehouse storage facility in Derbyshire using a Powrmatic TEx41 Air Rotation Heater measuring over 20ft tall.Project BackgroundTidyco was approached by a customer who is involved with manufacturing, transport and additional services in the aerospace industry amongst others. After recent success, their customer needed to expand their footprint and managed this by moving into a newly built warehouse situated in Derbyshire.SolutionAs this was a brand-new commercial building, there was no heating provision and just the original lighting installed by the builder, which was not fit for purpose. Tidyco was tasked with installing an efficient and effective means of heating solution for the 5,100m2 (55,000 sq ft) vast space along with a modern lighting system. In order to heat and illuminate this space, which occupied a space of more than seven and a half football pitches, some heavy-duty kit was required.ResultFor the heating aspect, Tidyco engineers installed an internal Powrmatic TEx 41 air rotation heater, manufactured in the UK. With an output of 350 kW, the unit measured in at over six metres (20 ft) tall. This particular TEx model was gas-powered and has the superior capacity to provide complete climate control for a 55,000 sq ft with a single TEx Air Rotation Heater.

Our newest designed cast iron 225x225 air brick allows for an unprecedented free area of 28,000mm2. Kingspan Light + Air worked on project jewel at Changi International Airport in Singapore. One of the most innovative project features is the distinctive dome-shaped facade, made entirely of glass and steel. Our team worked with the architects and project team to specify and install over 100 Lumera ventilation windows. The Lumera ventilation windows also operate as an integral element of a wider Smoke and Heat Exhaust Vent (SHEV) system.

The cast iron flyscreen air brick has the advantage of protecting the property from insect and rodent ingress but can help stop flooding with this innovative and simple barrier. The flood screen is a cork gasket for our single and double flyscreen air bricks and is simply inserted in the air brick when flooding is likely or imminent in place of the fly mesh. Once the danger has passed the copper fly mesh is replaced and the cork flood screen stored away safely until require again. It is available with our 9x3 and 9x6 cast iron air bricks here

Howe Green’s 5000 Series and 7500 Series access covers were specified for the Emirates Air Line, the first urban cable car in the UK. The cable car crosses the Thames from Greenwich Peninsula to the Royal Docks and links two former Olympic sites. The access covers were required to provide easy and reliable access to essential services within the North and South Terminal buildings. A bespoke aluminium bar was also designed and made for the project. The bar comprises a decorative trim featuring a semi-circular section with a 10-metre radius and a 6mm visible edge.

Originally used during Victorian and Edwardian period as sewer vents or "stench flaps", these cast iron vents with 100mm round spigots are making a bit of a come back. We've replaced the flaps (that used to allow air in but not out) with mesh so air flows freely in both directions and they've become quite a hit with specifiers ventilating basements and cellars and new builds. Take one look at our website and customers would be forgiven for thinking our grilles are only available painted in one colour - black. They can of course be supplied bare metal to go rusty in many cases as another option but black is our standard colour. That said we supply vents and air bricks painted in a huge range of RAL colours. Designed by The Cast Iron Air Brick Company, this stunning grille was transformed from a concept to "a work of art" by North Devon based, pattern maker, Peter Hoole in 2010 and is now cast in West Midlands. With over 2000 sold, its fast becoming "the" conservation vent for listed and period properties and is now available with a 5" diameter(125mm) spigot as well as the original 4" diameter (100mm). Project detailsIconic London restaurant The Ivy has undergone a major renovation project that has taken five months to complete. This dramatic refurbishment was completed in time to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the restaurant. Although dramatic, much of its original identity such as the trademark stained glass windows remains.The interior design team behind ‘The Ivy’ has previously worked on other restaurants in the same group including Scott’s, the J Sheekey Oyster Bar and Daphne’s in South Kensington.The restaurant has had a modern makeover, the bar has been relocated to the middle of the room and is surrounded by pink leather and mohair bar stools, in the main restaurant booths as well as private corner tables have replaced the original seating arrangement. Project overviewWorking alongside our clients we manufactured and supplied the internal ventilation grilles and diffusers throughout the restaurant including linear bar grilles, floor grilles, linear slot diffusers and air valves.Our products provided both supply and extract ventilation with accessories and optional paint finishes to suit our clients’ exact requirements. This multi-million-pound training facility at CPFC’s new-look academy includes a full-size indoor 3G training pitch.A state-of-the-art indoor training facility that will allow the football players to train in all weather conditions. GDL were approached to help with the ventilation requirements for the space. Six large rectangular recessed louvres were manufactured and installed to meet the demands of extracting the air from the indoor space generated by eight large fans each with a duty of 12900 m³/hr.

This project involves the partners Fremek AB, Totech AB and PCP A/S.Fremek is a workshop company in Dals-Långed that is certified according to EN-1090, EXC1, EXC2 and EXC3. Fremek specializes in welding, cutting, painting and assembly of large projects throughout Sweden.PcP’s solution includes CUBE® gratings and treads for a modern design and ladder systems for worker safety. Fremek and Totech chose PcP’s solution to install a new fuel station for Air BP, one of the world’s largest aviation suppliers.Project criteria - Slip-resistant steel platformFor this project, Air BP required an anti-slip platform due to the use of oil during maintenance.Although the platform is new construction, it was erected on an existing outdoor structure with nothing but a roof and fuel tanks. Thus, there were specific dimensions required.Therefore, PcP provided a more efficient fuel station platform and a safe working environment for personnel carrying out aircraft maintenance.The project had a strict timeline of 10 weeks as the construction had to be finalised before winter.Fremek was responsible for designing the air-plane fuel station and for sourcing the correct materials. Fremek contracted Totech for the works. Totech has more than 25 years of experience managing complex projects for a range of industries and, therefore, extensive knowledge of industrial construction and of which materials to use.PcP has delivered gratings to Fremek in several previous projects. Totech, therefore, approached PcP to showcase gratings with high slip-resistance for the platform. Totech seeked to use standard sizes to meet customer requirements of lead time and budget. At this point, Totech discovered that PCP also could provide handrail and ladder systems.Project solution - CUBE gratingsThe PcP CUBE® gratings, treads and toe-plate were provided for the platform in standard sizes. For easy access to the platform, PcP provided fire escape ladders and safety handrails. PcP CUBE® gratings and treads benefit from outstanding high PTV slip-resistance reducing trip and fall risk, lightweight but strong and fitted perfectly into the existing construction from the ground to roof.Fremek installed the platform, and the workers on-site made cut-outs to suit various plant equipment. Additionally, PcP provided escape ladders to mount on fuel tanks. In case of fire incidents/emergencies, enabling workers to escape rapidly.

At One Bank Street, on London’s Canary Wharf, partnering architecture firms Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) and Adamson Associates Architects turned to Bobrick: a total of 127 B-320501 TrimLineSeries™ recessed 3-in-1 combination units with concealed locks.
