The cast iron flyscreen air brick has the advantage of protecting the property from insect and rodent ingress but can help stop flooding with this innovative and simple barrier. The flood screen is a cork gasket for our single and double flyscreen air bricks and is simply inserted in the air brick when flooding is likely or imminent in place of the fly mesh. Once the danger has passed the copper fly mesh is replaced and the cork flood screen stored away safely until require again. It is available with our 9x3 and 9x6 cast iron air bricks here

The system was praised by the architect as it is able to be retrofitted to existing plant structure, and as a result they were able to absorb late fit out amendments into the programme without major plant reconfiguration. The site has won multiple Architecture and Aviation service awards.

Howe Green’s 5000 Series and 7500 Series access covers were specified for the Emirates Air Line, the first urban cable car in the UK. The cable car crosses the Thames from Greenwich Peninsula to the Royal Docks and links two former Olympic sites. The access covers were required to provide easy and reliable access to essential services within the North and South Terminal buildings. A bespoke aluminium bar was also designed and made for the project. The bar comprises a decorative trim featuring a semi-circular section with a 10-metre radius and a 6mm visible edge.

Aiming to limit reliance on electric and artificial lighting in an effort to reduce energy consumption, daylighting solutions became a key consideration. Kingspan Light + Air, understanding the needs of the client, delivered a bespoke solution that satisfied the specific needs of the warehouse facility by helping to maximise on natural lighting. Implementing the Kingspan Day-Lite Kick wall light system horizontally across the loading bays in the warehouse enabled the facility to maximise on natural light without glare.

Following an in-depth review of the initial proposal, Kingspan Day-Lite Kapture rooflights were installed to maximise the amount of useful daylight in the warehouse, whilst minimising demand for artificial lighting.

The new Lycee Lucie Aubrac high school in Paris is an environmental friendly building with a Net ZeroEnergy objective, to reach a neutral balance between energy consumption and production. The premises are organized around a long inner street, covered by a monumental glass rooflight. The smoke ventilation and natural ventilation system provided and serviced by Kingspan Light + Air, is designed with 26 units of Kingspan Optima louvred windows integrated into photovoltaic glass rooflight, as well as façade air inlets. The opening smoke vents were connected to STG control panels - MZ2 and Compact.

Rooms in computing centers with network cabinets are often fitted with false floors to accommodate the cabling. Through openings in the floors the cables are routed upwards. However, the cold air for cooling the servers escapes through these openings. With Clima-Tect®, these openings can be closed. Prepunched rectangles in the foam panels make it easier to pull out the cable openings so that the foam fits perfectly around the cables. Since Basotect® can be processed fiber-free, the sealing cushions can be installed while work is in progress.

The Science and Technology Facilities Council’s Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire is recognised across the globe for its innovative research across a number of scientific fields. The lab employs over 1600 scientists and, as its work has developed, it became clear there was a need for a new, flexible space for testing the latest equipment. Oxford Architects created an iconic, curved design for the R105 Facilities Support Building and, in a break from the standard metal-clad facades of the surrounding buildings, specified a colourful façade using Kingspan Day-Lite Klick wall lights.

The cast iron body is available in a polished pewter effect, which has been hand finished by us in our workshop or can be purchased bare metal for contractors or property owners to finish on site. When the 100mm spigot is connected to an air source it provides 3000mm2 of free area for combustion air for a room fitted with a log burner or stove up to 10KW. Double up for larger appliances.

Quarried from Ontario nearby the Eramosa River, this stone features deep browns with an almost woodlike appearance. Cutting this material vein and crosscut produce two highly different effects. Lightweight cladding features extensively throughout as well as quartz surfaces. Custom made pilasters and sleeper pods featured wrapped Eramosa. Reading areas contained bookmatched feature walls 2.4m x 1.8m large Thanks to its excellent design and finish, the Maple lounge won the “Best First Class Aviation Lounge” in the 2015 international yacht and aviation awards.

Chris was keen to use Bushboard’s RPM for the speed of on-site installation and quality of workmanship.
