Description

Durable, clear yacht varnish.

Features and benefits:

  • Formulated to enhance and retain the colour of the natural wood.
  • Has UV inhibitors to protect from sun damage.
  • Waterproof protection.
  • Contains no pigment content.

Applications:

  • Suitable for windows, doors and conservatories. Can also be used on new wood and as an on-going maintenance product.
  • Not suitable for constant immersion in water.

Preparation:

  • Sadolin Woodfiller - Making good any minor surface defects, imperfections and open joints etc.
  • Sadolin Stainable Woodfiller – Suitable for larger surface defects.
  • Sadolin Wood Preserver – Solvent borne preservative treatment for softwood timber.
  • Sadolin Quick Drying Wood Preserver - Water borne preservative treatment for softwood timber.
  • Sandtex Trade Fungicidal Wash - Use to remove organic growth from surfaces.

Primer/ Base stain:

  • New and uncoated woodwork – Sadolin Yacht Varnish.
  • Previously coated woodwork - Patch prime with one or two coats Sadolin Classic, colour to match existing colour.

Composition:

Alkyd resin, dissolved in dearomatized white spirit with UV filters.

Drying time:

Touch dry after 4–6 hours; recoatable in 16–24 hours under normal drying conditions.

Wet film thickness:

76 micrometres at 13 m²/ litre (approximately).

Dry film thickness:

34 micrometres at 13 m²/ litre (approximately).

Application rate:

13 m²/ litre (on smooth timber).

Coating (recommended):

Two to three coats (on previously coated timber), three coats (on new joinery).

VOC Content:

EU limit value for this product (cat A/e): 400 g/L (2010). This product contains maximum 399 g/L VOC.
