Preformed damp proof course (DPC) cavity trays with attached flashing for use as a remedial solution or with existing pitched roof/ gable abutments.

Description

Features:

  • Preformed, self-supporting, moulded damp proof course (DPC) cavity trays.
  • Fitted from outside, with minimum of masonry removed.
  • Attached shaped flashing secured in bosem jaw.
  • Attached flashings available in short or long lengths to suit roof tiling/ slating details.
  • Designed to suit standard 75 mm high brickwork courses.
  • Flashings and trays are flush pointed as masonry is raised eliminating the need to rake out joints for insertion/ fixing of lead flashing.
  • Hinged variable angle upstand accommodates a wide range of cavity widths.
  • Suitable for traditional masonry cavity construction or timber frame construction.

Range:

  • Catchment trays: For building in at the bottom of a slope to catch water and direct it, via weepholes, to the outside of a masonry wall.
  • Intermediate trays: Available in either hand and built in at each course over the length of an abutment rake.
  • Ridge trays: Used to straddle a roof ridge abutment.
  • External angles: Used in place of catchment trays when commencing laying from the corner of a building.

Types

Catchment tray

Stop end at each end of tray; supplied with weepvents.

External angle

Used instead of catchment trays if the abutment ends or returns on a corner – Can also provide a link with horizontal trays.

Intermediate tray, left hand

With one stop end on each tray; discharges water to the tray beneath.

Intermediate tray, right hand

With one stop end on each tray; discharges water to the tray beneath.

Internal angle

Used instead of catchment trays if the abutment ends or returns on a corner – Can also provide a link with horizontal trays.

Ridge tray

No stop ends, can discharge water to either end.

  • The length of the cavity varies according to the roof pitch; the lower the pitch the longer the cavity tray.
  • Cavity Trays Ltd manufactures the appropriate tray length according to the specified roof pitch.

Black, injection moulded solid DPC.

Product Options

Cavity width:

  • Standard units can accommodate cavities 50–160 mm wide.
  • Other cavity widths accommodated using trays with an extended upstand, made to special order.

Attached flashing material:

- Lead:

To BS EN 12588.

- Perform®:

  • Composite material of aluminium mesh enveloped within a moulded silian-modified polymer rubber.
  • Thickness: 2.1 mm (nominal).
  • UV and Ozone resistant.
  • Temperature resistance: -20°C to +70°C
  • Material has no theft value
  • 20 year warranty.

- Alternative materials:

Aluminium, copper and other typical roofing materials are also available.

Length of attached flashings:

  • Short flashings are suitable for dressing over the upstand of a secret gutter or soaker.
  • Long flashings can be dressed across roof tile. Under such circumstances, roof tiles must be suitably shaped, i.e. not flat.
