Ceilings and soffits

Casings, duct linings and panels
Joists to be strengthened around access panels to allow for maintenance loads.
Refers to plasterboard lining.

Span width is dependant on plasterboard lining. Refer to manufacturer's span tables to determine maximum length.

Bridging requirements - to suit span requirements
0 – 2.0 m.
No bridging required.
2.0 – 4.0 m.
One bridging studs or track sections required.

6.0 – 7.0 m.
Three bridging studs or track sections required.
Suitable for single span ceilings up to 2000 mm or two or more spans up to 2800 mm. Not recommended for use where vibration from mechanical equipment is used.
Mechanical Joint 1.
Suitable for single span ceilings up to 3000 mm or two or three spans up to 4000 mm.
