Description

GTEC Thermal K Boards provide good thermal performance for both new build and refurbishment projects. An additional vapour control layer reduces the risk of condensation.

Features and benefits:

  • 9.5 mm plasterboard bonded to phenolic foam.
  • Approximately 50% thermal improvement over GTEC EPS.
  • Range of thicknesses between 30 and 70 mm.

Material

Aerated calcium sulfate di-hydrate, enclosed inside liners made from recycled wastepaper with bound edges. Core and papers are bonded with starch. The back surface is white fibreglass tissue

Various thicknesses of phenol-formaldehyde foam (PF) are factory-bonded to 9.5 mm board using PVA adhesive

Colour:

Ivory on the front, and orange-coloured foam board on the back.

Material:

  • Aerated calcium sulfate di-hydrate, enclosed inside liners made from recycled wastepaper with bound edges. Core and papers are bonded with starch. The back surface is white fibreglass tissue.
  • Various thicknesses of phenol-formaldehyde foam (PF) are factory-bonded to 9.5 mm board using PVA adhesive.

Edges:

Tapered down the long edges at the front. Edges are adhered together.

Size:

2400 x 1200 mm.

Laminate weight:

  • 30 mm board: 20.7 kg.
  • 40 mm board: 22.2 kg.
  • 50 mm board: 23.6 kg.
  • 60 mm board: 25.1 kg.
  • 70 mm board: 26.5 kg.

Jointing finishing and painting:

The board should be jointed and finished with GTEC Jointing Systems. Boards are suitable for gypsum finishing plasters manufactured to BS EN 13279-1:2008. The boards must be primed with GTEC Universal Sealer prior to being decorated.

Vapour control layer:

All GTEC Thermal K Boards are manufactured with enhanced vapour resistance.

Fixing:

Use dabs of GTEC Universal Bonding compound (two additional nailable plugs required for fire safety), GTEC Wall Lining Adhesive, GTEC Shallow Wall Channels (MFCS) or the GTEC Dryliner system.

  • Fire, acoustic, thermal and duty performance dependent on the whole system. See Siniat Drywall Manual for Siniat system performances.
  • Reaction to fire: Euroclass B-s1, d0.
  • Moisture content: <2%

- Thermal conductivity of Insulation, λR:

  • 25-44 mm: 0.021 W/m·K
  • ≥45 mm: 0.020 W/m·K
  • Plasterboard: 0.19 W/m·K.

- Mass:

  • 7.2 kg/m² for 30 mm board.
  • 7.7 kg/m² for 40 mm board.
  • 8.2 kg/m² for 50 mm board.
  • 8.7 kg/m² for 60 mm board.
  • 9.2 kg/m² for 70 mm board.
  • The density of the PF is 40 kg/m³.

- Thermal resistance, R:

  • 30 mm board: 0.92 m²K/W.
  • 40 mm board: 1.48 m²K/W.
  • 50 mm board: 1.95 m²K/W.
  • 60 mm board: 2.55 m²K/W.
  • 70 mm board: 3.05 m²K/W.

- Water vapour resistance:

  • 30 mm board: 667 MN·s/g.
  • 40 mm board: 500 MN·s/g.
  • 50 mm board: 400 MN·s/g.

  • 70 mm board: 286 MN·s/g.

- Flexural strength (to BS EN 520):

  • Longitudinal breaking load: ≥400 N.
