Application

Covers even the most demanding of applications. Can be used as a pourable or trowel-grade mortar; ranging from a stiff to a pourable mix. Suitable for:

  • Cables and metallic pipes.
  • Wall and floor concrete slab openings.
  • Rigid floors of 150 mm minimum thickness.
  • Mixing and trowelling into a vertical opening, and working around services without slumping.
  • Casting into blocks for building into larger openings using a stiff mix of the same compound as bedding.

Shouldn’t be applied in temperatures above 35°C.

Can be mixed by a mechanical paddle or manually to the required 100 mm thickness. Temporary non-combustible shuttering is needed to support the wet weight of the compound.

Description

High strength, gypsum based mortar compound, used to reinstate the fire resistance performance of rigid floor constructions where they have been provided with apertures for the penetrations of multiple services. Supplied as a dry, free flowing powder, and is mixed with water to the required ratio prior to installation.

Features and benefits:

  • Self-supporting in a floor to spans of 1800 mm (when mixed).
  • High strength and non-combustible, and has a good load bearing performance in floor seals.
  • Rapid setting.
  • Zero shrinkage formulation.
  • Provides gas-tight seals.
  • Smooth, even consistency (when mixed correctly).
  • Achieves maximum wet strength approximately four hours after casting.
  • Strong and resistant; the installation frame will be retained in the wall or floor if the ductwork should collapse, even when the HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) installation frame is not tied back to the structure.
  • BREEAM compliant around both single and multiple fire damper assemblies.
  • CE marked.

  • Thermal conductivity (K-value) at 100 mm: 0.45 W/m·K.
  • Thermal resistance (R-value) at 100 mm: 0.22 m²K/W.

  • Service and durability: Z1 (0–40°C) intended for use at internal conditions with high humidity (85%) in accordance with EOTA technical documents TR024, clause 3.12.
