Application

Designed for use in protected stairwells and corridors within residential apartments, hotels, shops and offices.

Description

Single leaf smoke and heat vent, designed to reduce build-up in the event of a fire.

Features and benefits:

  • Manufactured and certified to BS EN 12101-2.
  • Fitted with an integrated electrical opening vent actuator.
  • Opens to 160° within 60 seconds.
  • Can incorporate roof access if required - consult manufacturer for details.
  • Provides natural comfort ventilation in addition to smoke ventilation.
  • Compliant with Building Regulations Approved Documents B and L.
  • A range of upstands are available to accommodate roof insulation types, or an adaptor may be installed to builders' upstands.
  • Class B for impact resistance according to EN 1873.
  • Available in square, rectangular and circular formats, and in a variety of sizes to meet requirements for 1 m² or 1.5 m² free vent area.
  • When installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations, this product is expected to exceed the life of the roof covering.
  • Guaranteed against the effects of defective design, materials or construction for ten years, with an electrical components guarantee for 24 months.

Only certain sizes are compatible with certain actuators: LM70100: 700–1100 mm; LM100160: 1000–1600 mm.

  • Circular: All circular vents are supplied with a single actuator (LM100160).
  • Rectangular: Can be supplied with either a single (LM70110/ LM100160) or tandem (LM100160) actuator, dependent on size specified.
  • Square: Supplied with a single (LM70110/ LM100160) actuator, dependent on size specified.

Polycarbonate:

Has an impact strength of 250 times greater than glass, and has an AA fire rating to BS 476 Part 3.

Upstand:

Smoke vents must be a minimum of 300 mm above the finished roof level. Where a 150 mm curb upstand is supplied, this must be installed onto a builder’s upstand of at least 150 mm high.
